Chapter 1 - Wedding Day?

Xu Que woke up with an intense headache, as strange memories filled his mind. They weren't his, but somehow he felt as if he had lived in those memories, making him question his identity for a second.

After a while, his eyes snapped open, filled with clarity and intelligence, which would have surprised others if they had seen him. After all, Xu Que wasn't supposed to be intelligent.

He was someone born with certain mental problems which made him slow in many areas. His mind just didn't process information like others. He would always just look at the sky, his eyes blank as if his mind had died.

Xu Que wasn't intelligent enough to understand what was happening, but now he did. The reason for his problems was that a major part of his soul was wandering in a different world, and only it had returned to him after dying.

The young man sighed as he dropped back on his bed, trying his best to understand his situation. His other soul was from a planet named Earth, and he had been just a high school student when he died.

The more he went through the memories of his other self, the more speechless he became. He used to read novels where people transmigrated to other worlds and used their knowledge to become the strongest.

As for him, he was just a high school student studying in a rural area, which meant he did not have much knowledge. After all, he himself wasn't much interested in that.

"The hell? If I knew things would come to this, I would have finished the whole library in days."

Now, he regretted it, but not so much. After all, his current self named Xu Que was living in a Cultivation world and his knowledge wouldn't be as useful as others made it out to be.

Xu Que actually had a good status—being the Sixth Prince of the Azure Dragon Empire, he had everything from birth except for cultivation talent and intelligence.

Because of that, he didn't have any good reputation. Everyone knew how useless he was, and people often ridiculed him behind his back. Especially since his mother died, he also fell out of the Emperor's favour.

He had just turned eighteen yesterday and was granted the fiefdom of North City of the Empire. It was remote, desolate, and because of the intense cold, few people resided there as even farming was tough.

The only reason the city was established there was because of the Demonic Beasts Clans of the North that were looking to annex the Empire.

"That's actually better, now that I think about it," Xu Que muttered. "I'm weak, with no backing whatsoever. Staying here means only death, as only a dead person has no claim on the throne. What a mess!"

He wasn't naive enough to think that just because he didn't want to take part in the game of thrones, he could live peacefully. He only had two options: either play the game of thrones or die.

He sighed, feeling a headache just by thinking about it. He had the Zhou Clan as his backing, as it was his mother's clan, but the Emperor hated them, so he was also targeting him. Even they would soon relinquish their support.

Even the Emperor didn't want him to live long; that was why he was sending him to the far north, where he would either die of cold or be killed by the Demonic clans.

'What to do? I'm already far behind in Cultivation, and even if I do start to practice now, I can't match up to the other princes. My talent isn't just good enough.'

Xu Que spent a lot of time, but couldn't come up with anything. This was a Cultivation world, and strength always ruled over the weak. And he was weak.

"Que'er, are you ready?"

A sweet, warm voice came from the other side of door.

'Oh yeah, today is my wedding,' Xu Que became speechless as he recovered all of his memories. He sighed and replied, "I'll be there in a minute, Aunt."

"Do you need any help?"

The sweet voice sounded again from behind the door. It was his aunt, who had always looked after him as she was his mother's sworn sister. She was probably the only person who loved and cared for him.

"No, I'm almost ready, so give me a minute!" Xu Que said as he stood up from his bed. Fortunately, it wasn't that his mind was completely dead so that he wouldn't have a problem acting around; he just needed to act slowly and a little dumb.

'Man, what a drag,' he sighed once again, wondering if he had committed some grave sins to have this life. However, then he remembered his marriage, and his mood turned weird.

His bride was Mo Yuelan, the former number one beauty and talent of the Capital. She was born with an Innate Spiritual Body, and her talent shocked the whole capital.

She was to be wed to the Crown Prince, but one day, she lost all of her Cultivation and dark marks appeared on her face. The once mighty genius fell from top to bottom and became a joke of the Mo Clan.

Naturally, her marriage with the Crown Prince was called off. Now, she was used as a political chip to establish connections between the Mo Clan and the Imperial Clan. Because of her fallen status, she was betrothed to the Sixth Prince. The useless should marry another useless, as everyone called it.

However, Xu Que didn't have any problems with the marriage. Because of his status, he was bound to get involved as a political chip, but now at least he wouldn't have a backstabbing wife.

"Well, at least I hope she isn't like that," Xu Que smiled and checked himself in the mirror.

A young man wearing red wedding robes was reflected in the mirror, with a tall figure, deep black hair, and abyss-like dark eyes.

Seeing him, Xu Que grew even happier as he had inherited his looks from his mother. Even if he had nothing, he was handsome enough to survive on his face. Sadly, he was a prince.

"Whatever! Time to get married and run off from here," Xu Que muttered. "I'll see how to survive later on. If only I had some golden fingers."

Opening the door, he was greeted with a mesmerizing scene. His aunt, Zhou Mei, stood there waiting for him.

She was a stunning woman with long, flowing platinum blonde hair, cascading down her back like a silken waterfall. Her sharp, piercing eyes carried an air of confidence and mystery, while her delicate features gave her a mesmerizing beauty. A pair of red cherry earrings dangled from her ears, adding a playful contrast to her otherwise fierce presence.

She wore a form-fitting black and red outfit—a fusion of elegance and lethality. The high-necked, sleeveless top was adorned with intricate floral patterns, hugging her curves perfectly.

A crimson skirt with black lace detailing wrapped around her waist, split high on one side to reveal her toned thigh, where a black garter held a sleek mechanical holster.

Her long, black stockings accentuated the shape of her legs, leading down to high-heeled shoes decorated with metallic embellishments.

His breath hitched, reminding him of his first crush. He exhaled his pent-up breath and smiled, "Hello, Aunt. I'm ready!"

"Good! My Que'er is looking handsome as always," Zhou Mei said with a warm smile as all of her fierce demeanor dropped, replaced with a loving expression.

She ruffled his hair slightly before tidying him up, as she asked, "Nobody really asked your opinion, so I will ask. Do you want to marry her? As long as you say so, I'll take you away from here."

Xu Que was stunned upon hearing that, feeling warmth in his heart. She really cared about him, as she was even willing to make an enemy of the Emperor for him.

But her claims weren't baseless. She was at the Lower Layer of the Sacred Core Realm, just one major Realm below the Emperor himself.

However, he didn't want her to live a life in which she would have to constantly run for her life. So, he smiled and was ready to accept when a hologram appeared before him.

'Finally! I guess I won't die early!'
