Chapter 3 - I need to get Stonger!

The battlefield was a graveyard of

corpses.

Dylan stood in the center, his breaths

ragged, his hands trembling. The

once-ferocious beast that had nearly

killed him lay motionless at his feet, its

body still twitching in its final moments

of death. Black tendrils of shadow

energy slowly faded from his arms,

dissolving into the air like mist.

The remaining Hunters stared at him a

mixture of shock, fear, and confusion

painted across their faces.

"Dylan... what the hell just happened?"

Kenzo's voice broke the silence, his

blade still drawn, his stance tense.

Dylan opened his mouth to respond but

hesitated. How could he explain it? The

whispers in his head, the surge of power

that had saved his life at the last

moment, the system that now pulsed

inside him like a second heartbeat.

"...l don't know." His voice was barely

above a whisper.

Kenzo narrowed his eyes. He didn't

believe him.

"That wasn't normal" another Hunter

muttered, stepping back. "I've never

seen anything like hefore.."Dylan suddenly felt Something

stronger? That wasn't good. He was

already the weakest Hunter here. If

something beyond their level was

lurking ahead, then..

A low growl rumbled through the

And then, it appeared.

A monstrous figure stepped into view

from the shadows. Its body was covered

in jagged black fur, its eyes gleaming

with a deep, intelligent malice. Its arms

were unnaturally long, ending in curved,

razor-sharp claws that dripped with

"W-What the hell is a Grade 1 doing

Kenzo's face paled. "We need to run.

Now!"

But it was already too late.

The Reaver moved in a blur, slashing

through one of the Hunters before he

could even react. Blood splattered

against the wall as the man

collapsed, lifeless.

The Reaver lunged at Dylan.

His mind screamned at him to dodge, but

his body wouldn't listen. He was too

Time seemed to slow.

Am I going to die here?

But before the beast's claws could rip

through him-

A powerful shockwave erupted through

the guild as a figure crashed down

between Dylan and the monster. The air

itself seemed to shake from the force of

their arrival.

BOOM!

A man stood there, cloaked in dark

armor, a massive greatsword resting on

his shoulder. His presence alone was

suffocating. An elite Hunter.

"You kids really screwed up," the man

muttered, his golden eyes locked onto

the beast. "Step back. I'll handle this."

The Abyssal Reaver snarled and lunged

at him--

With a single swing, the Hunter's sword

cleaved straight through the beast's

torso, splitting it in two.

Silence.

Dylan collapsed to his knees, his chest

heaving. He had been seconds away

from death. If this man hadn't arrived...
