Chereads / The Rise of Arcane King / Chapter 2 - (CHAPTER 2) AWAKENING THE BEAST

Chapter 2 - (CHAPTER 2) AWAKENING THE BEAST

Elias stood there, heart hammering in his chest. The power that had surged through him only moments ago still thrummed in his veins, a constant reminder of what had just happened- what he had just become.

Lucius vorn, the academy's brightest star, stood frozen before him, still clutching the remnants of his Golden flame spear. The inferno that had once danced in his hand now flickered weakly, as through it could no longer recognize its master .

Lucius's eyes widened with disbelief, then narrowed in simmering fury . He took a step back, his posture suddenly tense. "What the hell... did you just do?" He hissed.

Elias's breath was still ragged, his body tense with adernaline. He had no answer. He didn't know what he just had done. All he knew was that something inside him had awakened .

The crowd around them had fallen silent, their eyes locked on the two students as if waiting for the next move. The tension in the air was thick enough to cut with a blade.

But the silence was shattered when Seraphina Vale stepped forward . The warrior prodigy, known for her unmatched combat skills and mysterious aura, walked calmly towards Elias , her violet eyes never leaving his.

"You've awakened," she said, her voice low but filled with authority . There was no trace of surprise. No hesitation. It was as through she has known this moment was coming all along.

Elias blinked, trying to steady his racing thoughts. "Awakened? What... what do you mean?"

Seraphina stood beside him now, the weight of her presence grounding him, even as the strange new power inside him pulsed with untamed energy . "You're not the weakling they think you are, Elias . That power you felt- it's part of you . Part of your bloodline."

Bloodline. The word echoed in Elias's mind, but before he could process it, Lucius spoke again, his voice dripping with disdain.

"Enough of this nonsense." He raised his hand , his fingers crackling with magic once more. This time, the fire wasn't a spear - it was a wall, a wall of flames ready to engulf everthing in it's path.

"Get out of my way, Vale."

Seraphina didn't flinch. She didn't even move. "Lucius," she said quietly, "this is over."

But Lucius was too far gone in his anger . He hurled the flames towards Elias, the inferno roaring like a beast set loose.

For a moment, Elias thought he was done for. But as the fire rained down on him, something in his chest surged. He felt it- the power.

In a blur, Elias raised his hands, instinctively calling upon the force within him. The fire crashed against an invisible barrier, shattering, its energy scattering like broken glass. A pulse of black, crackling energy shot from Elias's body, and in an instant, the flames were gone.

Lucius forze. The arena went dead silent. Even Seraphina looked stunned for a split second, as if she, too, had underestimated what Elias could do.

"What... what was that?" Lucius growled, his eyes narrowing, his grip tigheneing around his staff. He was still in disbelief, but now, the anger was bubbling into something darker.

Elias's breath was steadying now, his mind clearing. He looked at his hands, trying to comprehend the raw power that had just erupted from him. But he didn't have time to dwell on it.

Because the academy was no longer just a school. The trials here weren't just about learning magic- they were about to survivial. Elias had just crossed a line, and he knew it. The real battke had only jist begun.

THE REALIZATION...

Seraphina stepped closer, her gaze softening. "Elias," she began, her voice quiet but firm, "That power inside you... it's part of our bloodline. The Arcane Kings."

Elias's heart skipped a beat. The Arcane kings? That name, steeped in legend and myth, had always been just that- a myth. He had heard stories of their power, of the destruction they had caised and the empires they had built, but he never thought it had anythingto do with him.

"I..." Elias stammered, trying to make sense of it. "I'm not one of them. I can't be."

Seraphina nodded slowly, her expression unreadeable. "You are. Whether you like it or not, Elias, that power is yours. And with it comes a responsibility you can't ignore."

"But I don't know how to control it," Elias admitted, frustration building in his chest. "I don't know what's happening to me!"

Seraphina placed a hand on his shoulder, jer grip steady. "That's why I'm here. To help you unlock the true potential of your bloodline. The journey will be difficult. But if you want to understand this power- and the prophecy that comes with it- you have no choice but to embrace it."

Elias was about to respond when a cold, deep voice cut thorugh the tension.

"Enough with the dramatics, Vale."

The voice belonged to Vladis Arcanis, the heasmaster of Arcane crown Academy. Tall and imposing, with eyes as cold as ice. Vladis stepped forward, his gaze sweeping over the arena, lingering on Elias. "It seems the weakling in no longer so weak. But don't get too comfortable, Nightshade. The Arcane War is on the horizon, and that power you just unlocked is nothing conpared to what's coming."

The words sent a chill down Elias's spine. Arcane War?

Vladis's lips curled into a cruel smile. "You're juat a pawn in a much bigger game. So you'd better learn quickly, Elias. You're about to be thrown into a war that will decide the fate of Eldros. And I'm not sure if you're ready for that."

Elias's pulse quickened. The weight of his awakening, the mystery of his bloodline, the looming war- it all hit him like a tidal wave. The path ahead was unclear, dangerous, and filled qith enemies he hadn't even begun to understand. But one thing was certain now.

He wasn't going to run.
