3. The Master's Steps Under the Moonlight

A muscular man now stood before Yiran.

Huang Jianfeng, the vice-captain and adopted brother of Huang Yue, stood with a confident gaze.

"Hey, Zhi, hasn't your boyfriend learned to speak properly yet?" Jianfeng asked with a wide grin.

"Oh no, Sir, Yiran is not my boyfriend~," Yun Zhi replied cheerfully.

"Hahaha, is that so? But I always see you two together. It must be hard if you can't communicate properly. Hahaha~," Huang Jianfeng joked, laughing heartily.

(Another loud one...) Yiran thought.

Yiran was startled when Jianfeng placed his hands on his shoulders and arms.

"Not bad, not bad. He has potential for martial arts," Jianfeng murmured while nodding.

Yun Zhi widened her eyes. "Sir, does Yiran really have talent?"

"Judging by his posture and bone structure, there's an 80% chance he can learn. I'm sure of it." Jianfeng sighed. "But the problem is communication... such a shame, such a shame..."

The long-haired man, wearing his hair in a ponytail, spoke at length with Yun Zhi. Meanwhile, Yiran only stared blankly, feeling a headache from the foreign language that sounded too complex to him.

"Yiran, Sir Jianfeng is going to teach you martial arts! He believes you have talent in kung fu, as long as you're willing to learn!" Yun Zhi said enthusiastically.

"Kung fu...?" Yiran repeated the word slowly, finally understanding its meaning. He looked at Jianfeng, who now wore a wide grin, showing his bright white teeth.

They moved to a spacious courtyard. With a simple gesture, Jianfeng signaled for Yiran to attack first. Understanding the intent, Yiran immediately took a stance resembling boxing.

Jianfeng observed Yiran's movements with keen interest, recognizing it as a martial art style he had never seen before.

Jianfeng stood relaxed, both hands behind his back, his left hand grasping his right wrist.

"Come at me. Let's see how good you are."

(First, aim for his nose!)

Jianfeng smiled at the easily predictable attack. Although the move was unique, it was still too simple to anticipate. Rather than counterattacking, Jianfeng chose to dodge with minimal movement.

"Going straight for the vital point, but relying only on your hands—that's highly ineffective."

Yiran immediately launched an uppercut aimed at Jianfeng's chin.

However, Jianfeng effortlessly caught Yiran's fist.

"That's three times."

In an instant, Jianfeng's punch stopped right in front of Yiran's face.

(Damn... my body couldn't even react to dodge...)

Yiran realized that Jianfeng had demonstrated kung fu. It wasn't like in the movies; even with his street-fighting experience, Yiran now found himself completely frozen in place, as if something was preventing his body from moving.

"That's enough. If I had actually punched, all your teeth would've been knocked out, haha~," Jianfeng laughed loudly.

Huang Yue gazed at the moon and stars from the tallest building. As a martial artist, it wasn't difficult for Yue, who had reached the level of Master, to use her light-body technique (Qinggong). Only a true Master could perform such a feat; if a so-called Master couldn't do Qinggong, they were essentially a fraud.

Yue sipped her drink with a smile when someone called out to her.

"Sister, can you come down? I have something to talk about!" Huang Jianfeng shouted loudly.

Logically, walking on rooftops was dangerous due to the risk of falling. But for Yue, who had mastered Qinggong, such things felt as easy as defying gravity.

With a light leap, Yue floated down from the two-story rooftop and landed effortlessly beside Jianfeng.

(Author's Note: You gotta be at least a True Master level to do what Yue does, guys. Jianfeng isn't there yet, so don't expect him to jump onto rooftops—he'd probably just crash through someone's ceiling. (ヘ・_・)ヘ ┬──┬ Imagine if Yue wore all white—people might think she's a flying ghost! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻))
