Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The First Ambitions

The realm of Tiān Wújiè had settled once more after Chaos's intervention, yet the echoes of its boundless power lingered, shaping the very fabric of existence. Beings across the vast lands, seas, and skies began to stir with new purpose, driven by a faint, instinctual call: the desire for more.

The dragons, once content in their prideful dominance, felt the weight of Chaos's display. Though unrivaled in strength, they now knew they were not untouchable. In their hearts burned a seed of ambition, a desire to grow stronger, not just among themselves but to claim the vastness of the land for their kin.

---

Tiān Wújiè spanned horizons that seemed endless. Its lands, seas, and skies were like a mosaic of unfathomable beauty and danger.

- **The Abyssal Ocean (Wúyǔ Hǎi 无渔海):** A vast, storm-tossed expanse that stretched across the eastern reaches of the realm. Its waters were black and deep, pulsing with the qi of creation. Within its depths dwelled the Hēiyú Rén, mysterious beings who thrived in the dark currents. They were unlike the dragons—less proud, but just as dangerous, with glowing eyes that pierced the abyss.

- **The Eternal Peaks (Chángjiǔ Shānfēng 长久山峰):** A range of colossal mountains that dwarfed even the dragons in their might. The tallest of these, Jiǔyīn Shān (九阴山), stood as an impenetrable barrier, its peak wrapped in storms and shrouded in ancient qi. No being dared ascend it, for those who tried never returned.

- **The Verdant Abyss (Lǜhǎi Shénlín 绿海深林):** A forest so vast it was said to have no end. Its trees stretched to the skies, their roots sinking deep into the earth's veins of qi. This was where Xuè Míng, the fallen Void Dragon, lay hidden, her presence cloaked by the forest's ancient power.

- **The Scorched Plains (Yán Huā Píngyáo 炎化平原):** An expanse of volcanic terrain where rivers of molten qi coursed freely. The Yán Mó, fiery beings born of the realm's molten depths, ruled here, their forms wreathed in flames that could reduce even mountains to ash.

---

The dragons, scattered across the realm, began to organize. Xuán Yǐng, the leader of the Void Dragons, stood atop the highest peak of his domain, gazing out over Tiān Wújiè. The faint disturbances from the mortals and lesser beings irritated him, but his focus was elsewhere.

"Jiǔyīn Shān," he murmured, his deep voice echoing. "It defies even us. But one day…"

His words trailed off as Hóng Yàn, the Flame Dragon, landed beside him, his fiery mane crackling.

"Still dreaming of conquering the unconquerable?" Hóng Yàn said with a mocking grin.

Xuán Yǐng turned his piercing gaze on him. "There is no unconquerable. Only unready conquerors."

Below them, other dragons roamed freely across the mountains and forests, their massive forms casting shadows over the land. They clashed often, testing each other's strength in displays of dominance. While the Void Dragons held themselves apart, shrouded in mystery, the Flame Dragons and others reveled in their freedom, their roars shaking the skies.

---

In the lowlands, where the qi was less dense but still abundant, the first mortals began to emerge. They were fragile and small compared to the towering dragons and ancient beings, but they were curious and resourceful.

These mortals, their bodies unrefined and their lives fleeting, began to explore the land. They marveled at the towering peaks and shimmering oceans, the dense forests and endless plains. Their hands worked tirelessly to shape tools from stone and wood, and they began to cluster together in small groups for survival.

Yet, they were not unnoticed.

A mortal wandered too close to the Verdant Abyss, his eyes wide with awe. The towering trees seemed alive, their trunks pulsating faintly with qi. But something deeper called to him—a presence, vast and overwhelming, hidden deep within the forest.

Xuè Míng, still cloaked in her weakened state, watched from the shadows. Her piercing gaze followed the mortal, her curiosity piqued.

"What are these… creatures?" she whispered to herself, her voice soft and filled with wonder.

---

Far above, in the formless void, Chaos stirred once more. Though it had stabilized Wújì Yuán, its boundless awareness stretched across the realm, sensing the threads of ambition, curiosity, and conflict weaving through Tiān Wújiè.

It did not interfere, but its raw power rippled subtly through the realm, influencing events in ways no being could comprehend.

In the Verdant Abyss, Xuè Míng felt it—a faint pull, as if Chaos itself was guiding her. The qi around her seemed to hum in resonance, urging her to rise.

In the mortal lands, a small group of humans huddled together beneath the stars. They spoke in hushed voices, wondering aloud about the great creator they had glimpsed in the sky. A new feeling stirred within them: reverence, fear, and a spark of ambition that would soon ignite into something far greater.

---

Across the realm, tensions simmered.

- The **Yán Mó**, watching the growing mortal presence from the Scorched Plains, whispered among themselves. "They multiply like ants. What will they bring to the land? Prosperity… or ruin?"

- The **Hēiyú Rén**, hidden in the depths of the Abyssal Ocean, began to stir. They could feel the mortals building small rafts, testing the waters of the black seas.

- The **dragons**, prideful as ever, ignored the mortals entirely, viewing them as insignificant. But within their ranks, divisions grew. Some dragons, particularly the Void Dragons, watched the mortals with curiosity, while others scorned them.

Xuán Yǐng, gazing down from the peaks, declared, "Let them prove their worth. If they cannot, they are nothing but prey."

---

As Chaos's power rippled subtly through the realm, Tiān Wújiè continued to grow. The mortals, fragile yet ambitious, began to carve out small territories. The dragons clashed among themselves, their battles shaping the land and sky. The seas churned, the mountains stood tall, and the forests whispered secrets.

Unseen by all, Xuè Míng, the fallen Void Dragon, began to regain her strength. She watched the mortals with keen interest, sensing something unique within them.

And Chaos, ever watchful, allowed its creation to evolve, knowing that the greatest struggles—and the greatest triumphs—were yet to come.
