It wouldn't be easy to hide the dagger since it's always visible on my hip. Any high ranked player would know instantly that it's not a normal item. The only option I had was to hide my weapon visibility outside of combat, that way no one would see it while I'm walking around.
I decided to return to the hub and log out for the day, hoping maybe I could find something about this item online. As I expected, I couldn't find anything. I could always try to send the developers some mail about it… but I think it could be more fun to keep it to myself, for now at least. New items and content were being released and discovered every day, but even this is something truly remarkable.
The next issue would be my level, if that was visible to other players, there would be no point in hiding the dagger at all. There was no point worrying about it now, I got back in bed and closed my eyes for the night. It would be an issue for tomorrow's Silas.
As I opened my eyes to the blinding sun through my window, I rolled over and hit my alarm. I had a few colleges classes today, though they'd be hard to focus on with everything that happened last night. I debated skipping my classes just to log in to see if it was all a dream, but I decided to be sensible for once and go to my classes.
Hours passed and felt like days, lecture after lecture bleeding my energy until I could return to my dorm. Despite the mental torture, my classes finally let out and I started to head back to my dorm room before I was stopped by someone.
"Hey Silas! Do you wanna get a bite to eat?" The voice was Hana, we had been friends for a while after meeting at my university as first years together. She was cheerful and bubbly as always, I was never quite sure what she saw in me, especially since she has people essentially lining up to talk to her. Especially guys, and I can't blame them. She had a nice figure and a naturally pretty face that would make anyone take a second look at her. She waved to me as her long blonde hair bobbed side to side
Truthfully, I wanted to say no. Everything that happened in BBO still felt like a dream that I needed to confirm. However, turning Hana down feels like a crime. "Sure, where did you have in mind?"
She ran up to me, making me realize just how tall I was compared to her. Her head was barely up to my shoulder. "This new Korean place just opened up a little off campus, I wanna check it out but I also don't wanna go alone."
I hadn't had Korean food in forever, certainly wasn't something for me to decline. "Let's go then, I'm starving."
We left the class building and started to walk towards the restaurant. Maybe she liked me cause I was a good listener, the entire trip she went on non-stop about her day, and the most recent events in her life. Her rant felt like a two hour lecture in the span of thirty minutes. Not that I minded though, she had a cute voice and a matching personality.
"And then you would not *believe* what he said next. After all that he had the audacity to ask for my notes!"
"Some people just don't have that self awareness that would seem obvious to us."
She laughed. "I know right? Oh, the place is just around here."
We rounded the corner and were met with the glaring neon sign of the restaurant named "K-Seoul Bites". The inside wasn't nearly as packed as I'd except for a newly opened restaurant, Hana and I were almost the only people in here.
A hostess sat us in a booth close to the entrance. We sat down and she leaned forward, closer to me. "So what's new with you? Finally get a girl yet? Oh, maybe you met someone on that game you're always playing?"
This was the part I always dreaded with her. It's not that I didn't like talking to her, but it was almost shameful to talk about my life compared to hers, we seemed like complete opposites.
"No, nothing like that at least." Hana didn't play many games, it would be hard to describe the events of the previous night to her. Though she was backing me into a corner, I decided I might as well try. "I actually came across something interesting last night." I watched as her expression shifted from shocked to focused, I don't think she's use to me talking about much. "I found a strange part of the game, it almost seemed like it was broken or unfinished, but it still clearly seemed like it was meant to be found." I felt nervous talking about a video game this seriously to a girl who barely knows how to operate a computer, yet she seemed to be listening intently.
"So what does that mean?"
"I'm not sure. Truthfully, at the best it could just be something that gets fixed in a week, but at the worst it can destroy the entire game"
I felt like I could physically see the gears in her brain turn. "So that's a big deal then right? Especially cause that games really popular isn't it?"
Really popular was an understatement, it was *the* biggest game in the world.
"Yeah pretty much like that, I haven't told anyone else yet because I'm not sure what to do with it just yet"
She nods along with what I'm saying. "I see. Is that why you drew all that on your hand?" She pointed to my right hand. Obscene black markings were stretched across my hand, from the tip of my finger to the starting of my wrist. They were the same markings that were shown on the Demon's Nail.
