Chapter 26 - Fleeting Glances

Kyouko heart fluttered as she spotted Haruki walking toward the kitchen, but she quickly masked her excitement. "Don't show it", she reminded herself, as she hurried to finish preparing his strong black coffee and the breakfast she had specially made just for him.

She set the steaming cup of coffee on the table, careful to arrange everything perfectly, her movements deliberate. She loved these moments—the quiet, simple intimacy of cooking for him, knowing that Haruki looked forward to her meals. It gave her a sense of purpose she hadn't felt in years.

As Haruki entered the kitchen, his eyes met hers for a brief moment, and Kyouko quickly glanced away, busying herself with setting the plates. The sight of him—handsome, charming, and tall—filled her with warmth. She felt herself glowing under his gaze, but still, she kept her emotions in check.

"Good morning," she greeted him with a soft smile, her voice calm despite the happiness welling up inside her. "I made your favorite."

Haruki smiled back, his eyes gleaming as he looked at the food. "Morning, Kyouko-san," he said, clearly pleased by the spread in front of him. "You always spoil me."

Kyouko felt a rush of satisfaction, though she simply replied, "It's nothing. I enjoy cooking." Her heart soared as she watched him sit down, eager to taste her food. "Yes" she thought, "this is how things should be."

Every morning like this, she felt more connected to him. While her husband remained an afterthought in the background, Haruki was slowly becoming the center of her world. Kyouko allowed herself to bask in the quiet joy of these shared moments with him, knowing that, for now, this was her happiness.

Haruki couldn't take his eyes off Kyouko. She seemed more beautiful every day. Her skin, radiant and smooth, seemed to glow in the morning light. And her lips... those soft, inviting lips that he couldn't stop thinking about. The memory of their kiss, however brief and stolen, haunted him. He wanted to kiss her again, right there in the kitchen.

But something held him back—fear. What if he kissed her, and she pulled away? What if it made things awkward, and their connection changed? He wasn't sure if he could risk that, not when things were going so well between them. The thought of losing this closeness, of ruining what they had, terrified him.

Still, the desire gnawed at him, growing stronger each day. Every time they were alone, it was harder to resist. He clenched his fist under the table, trying to focus on his breakfast instead of the overwhelming urge to kiss her, to hold her, to make her his.

But as Kyouko busied herself with the dishes, he couldn't help but wonder—did she feel the same? Did she want him the way he wanted her? Or was she just being kind, playing the role of a doting mother-in-law, never knowing the turmoil she stirred inside him?

He glanced at her again, his heart racing. The temptation was unbearable. But he wasn't sure if he was ready to risk everything yet.

"Not now... but maybe soon," haruki thought, torn between desire and restraint.

Haruki finished his meal, savoring every bite. Kyouko cooking was always perfect—just like her. He admired her from across the kitchen, thinking about how stunning and sexy she was. The way she moved, the way she smiled, everything about her was magnetic.

"I want her..." The thought echoed in his mind, stronger than ever.

Just as his gaze lingered on her, his phone buzzed. A message from his boss appeared on the screen, informing him he needed to come into the office today. Haruki sighed, feeling the disappointment set in. The last thing he wanted was to leave this moment, to step away from Kyouko.

He glanced up at her, reluctantly breaking the news. "Kyouko-san, I need to go to the office today. Something came up at work."

Kyouko turned to face him, her expression calm, though Haruki noticed a flicker of something in her eyes—was it disappointment? Or was it just his imagination?

"Oh, I see," Kyouko said softly, wiping her hands on a towel. "Well, work is important, right?" She smiled warmly, though Haruki couldn't shake the feeling that she, too, wished he could stay.

He stood up from the table, still feeling torn between his duty and his desire. "I'll be back later," he said, trying to sound casual, though he couldn't help but linger for just a moment longer, his eyes locked on hers.

"Take care," Kyouko replied, her voice gentle but carrying a weight that Haruki couldn't quite place.

Kyouko's heart raced when she saw Haruki walking toward the kitchen, but she tried to hide her excitement. "Don't show it," she reminded herself as she hurried to finish making his strong black coffee and the special breakfast she had prepared just for him.

She placed the steaming cup of coffee on the table, making sure everything looked perfect. She loved these moments—cooking for him felt special, and she knew Haruki enjoyed her meals. It gave her a purpose she hadn't felt in a long time.

When Haruki entered the kitchen, their eyes met for a brief moment. Kyouko quickly looked away, focusing on setting the plates. He was handsome and charming, and just seeing him made her feel warm inside. She kept her feelings under control.

"Good morning," she said with a soft smile, her voice calm even though she felt happy inside. "I made your favorite."

Haruki smiled back, clearly pleased with the food. "Morning, Kyouko-san. You always spoil me."

Kyouko felt happy but replied, "It's nothing. I enjoy cooking." Her heart soared as she watched him sit down, excited to eat. "Yes," she thought, "this is how things should be."

Every morning like this made her feel closer to him. While her husband was often in the background, Haruki was slowly becoming the most important person in her life. She enjoyed these quiet moments with him, knowing that this was her happiness for now.

Haruki couldn't take his eyes off Kyouko. She looked more beautiful every day. Her skin glowed in the morning light, and he couldn't stop thinking about her soft lips. He remembered the hidden kiss he had planted on her when she was asleep, a kiss she didn't know about. The memory made him want to kiss her again right there in the kitchen.

But he was scared. What if she pulled away? What if it changed everything between them? He didn't want to risk their connection, which was going so well. The thought of losing this closeness terrified him.

Still, his desire for her grew stronger every day. Whenever they were alone, it was harder to resist. He clenched his fist under the table, trying to focus on his breakfast instead of wanting to kiss her and hold her close.

As Kyouko cleaned up, he wondered if she felt the same way. Did she want him like he wanted her, or was she just being nice?

He looked at her again, his heart racing. His eyes traced her figure, admiring the curve of her body and the way her round butt moved as she cleaned up. The temptation was almost too much. "Damn, she's too sexy," he thought, filled with a furious longing. He wanted to feel her body close to his. But he wasn't ready to risk everything yet.

"Not now... but maybe soon," Haruki thought, feeling torn between what he wanted and what he felt he should do.

He finished his meal, enjoying every bite. Kyouko's cooking was always perfect, just like her. He admired her from across the kitchen, thinking about how beautiful she was.

"I want her..." The thought echoed in his mind, stronger than ever.

Just as he was lost in thought, his phone buzzed. It was a message from his boss, saying he needed to go to the office today. Haruki felt disappointed. The last thing he wanted was to leave this moment with Kyouko.

He looked at her, knowing he had to tell her. "Kyouko-san, I need to go to the office today. Something came up at work."

Kyouko turned to him, her expression calm, but he thought he saw a hint of disappointment in her eyes.

"Oh, I see," Kyouko said softly, wiping her hands on a towel. "Well, work is important, right?" She smiled warmly, but Haruki felt that she wished he could stay.

He stood up from the table, feeling torn between his responsibilities and his feelings. "I'll be back later," he said, trying to sound casual, but he lingered for a moment, his eyes locked on hers.

As Haruki walked toward the door, his mind was busy. "Maybe when I come back... maybe then..." He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts.

Work called him away, but he knew he would think about Kyouko all day.

After Haruki left for work, Kyouko sat on the sofa with her phone. She looked at a picture of herself with Haruki, taken outside the cinema, posing like a couple. The photo made her smile and filled her with warmth. The connection she felt with him was real and special, unlike the empty feelings in her marriage.

Just then, her husband walked out, ready for work. Kyouko put on her usual smile, acting as if everything was normal. "Do you need breakfast?" she asked sweetly, hiding her busy thoughts.

Her husband barely looked at her, rushing to get out the door. "No, I have to go. Something important at the office," he said carelessly.

Kyouko watched him leave, keeping her smile in place. "See you later," she said.

But as soon as the door closed, her expression changed. "Ah... going to meet his boyfriend before work?" she thought, letting out a small chuckle. She couldn't help but wonder, "Who is her husband's boyfriend? Or maybe a girlfriend?"

Her husband's secret didn't hurt her anymore, not like it used to. Now, it felt like a small detail of her life, something she didn't care much about. She had more important things to focus on—like her growing connection with Haruki. As long as Haruki was in her life, her husband's hidden life didn't matter.

She looked back at the picture on her phone and smiled again. "This... this is what truly matters now," she thought.

Kyouko fantasized about having more pictures like the one with Haruki—maybe even something more intimate, like a picture of them kissing. The idea excited her. She considered using one of those pictures as her phone wallpaper but quickly changed her mind. "Better not raise Sayaka's suspicions," she thought. Though Sayaka was naive and trusting, Kyouko knew it wouldn't be wise to act too carelessly.

She checked her phone, making sure the lock was secure and double-checking the password. Kyouko smiled, feeling secure in her little world with Haruki. She wanted to keep sneaking away for more moments with him and hide those moments well. "One day..." she thought, "I'll have all the pictures I want. But for now, patience."

With a satisfied sigh, she placed her phone on the table and leaned back, already planning her next opportunity to be alone with Haruki.

Kyouko had carefully removed everything unnecessary from her phone, saving only the images that mattered to her—pictures of herself in the dress Haruki had bought for her, selfies, and the cinema photo of them as a couple. These were her treasures. She made sure to keep them safe, locked with a password only she knew.

As she looked through the photos again, she smiled, feeling happy. She admired how Haruki captured her beauty in that dress and how the couple photo felt like a peek into a future she secretly hoped for. Each time she scrolled through the pictures, her excitement grew. "These are enough for now," she thought, "but I'll make more memories with him soon."

She set her phone aside, feeling content with her little secrets, and began to think about what to do next in her delicate game with Haruki.

Kyouko began to wonder how she could make sure Haruki would keep looking at her. What could she wear that would catch his attention?

"Maybe something a little more revealing?" she thought, considering outfits that would show a bit more skin.

These thoughts both thrilled and terrified her. She knew crossing this line could complicate things, but the desire to feel desirable and noticed was overwhelming. All she wanted was to bask in Haruki's gaze, even if it meant treading on dangerous ground.

With a renewed sense of purpose, Kyouko decided that she would take the chance. She wanted to create more moments with Haruki, filled with stolen glances and quiet connection. "Let's see how he reacts," she thought, her heart racing with excitement.
