Chapter 1 - The Thief

New York City

New York, the economic powerhouse of the U.S., is a city where people come from all over to chase their dreams. Some succeed, while others are left with nothing but hope.

One such dreamer is Kevin, who is determined to make this Valentine's Day the most memorable day of his life. Kevin is an ordinary young man living in New York—fair-skinned, dark-eyed, clean-shaven, tall, and dashing, though his simple clothes reveal his middle-class background.

Today, Kevin is traveling by subway from Brooklyn to Manhattan on a day when the city is experiencing a heavy downpour. It seems as if the storm clouds are unleashing their full force, causing massive traffic congestion.

New York's subway system, always rushing forward, carries Kevin, who is lost in his thoughts. He is nervously fidgeting with a ring box, wondering, Will Christina accept my love proposal? Does she love me?

As soon as he reaches his station, Kevin hurries to the subway doors, only to be pushed out by the crowd in a matter of seconds. A victorious smile spreads across his face, as if he has just won a battle. But before he can celebrate, a faint white glow begins to flicker from his chest—a sign that something bad is about to happen.

And then it happens.

A stranger suddenly snatches the ring box from Kevin's hands and takes off running. Seeing his hard-earned symbol of love being stolen, Kevin panics and shouts, "Thief! Catch him!" before sprinting after the culprit.

This ring wasn't just an object; it was his dream, bought with months of hard work as a waiter, skipping meals to save every dollar for this special moment. And now, in an instant, someone was running away with all his effort, happiness, and love.

Determined not to let his dream slip away, Kevin increases his speed, but the thief is just as experienced, weaving through the crowded streets effortlessly. As they run out of the subway station and into narrow alleyways, Kevin shouts desperately, "Dude, please give my ring back! Today is the most important day of my life—I'm going to propose to my girlfriend!"

Without stopping, the thief laughs and replies, "Then go propose! Why are you chasing me?"

Kevin yells, "I need that ring for the proposal!"

The thief mocks him, "A ring isn't necessary! Give her a rose—if she falls for you, great; if not, move on! Ha ha ha!"

Kevin is furious but keeps chasing him. Eventually, the thief stops in a deserted alley with a small garage. Kevin halts, panting, as four muscular, tattooed men step out of the garage in response to the thief's whistle.

The white glow flickers again from Kevin's chest, confirming his fear—trouble is coming.

The thief smirks and calls out, "Shane, I got what you asked for!" and tosses the ring box to the leader.

Shane, clearly the gang leader, laughs and thanks the thief, calling it a "special $300 ring." Kevin, desperate, clenches his fists but knows he is outnumbered. Swallowing his anger, he pleads, "Please give my ring back. I'll pay you in cash."

But instead of listening, Shane bursts into laughter and says, "Idiot! You had your chance to walk away, but now you'll regret it." His men laugh cruelly, one of them saying, "Consider yourself lucky your girlfriend isn't here, or we'd take her too! Ha ha ha!"

Kevin's rage explodes. "Enough!" he yells, charging toward them, ready to fight.

But Shane just smirks and signals one of his men—"Alex, take care of him."

Alex, a huge man trained personally by a feared figure called Robert Scott, steps forward. Kevin throws a punch, but Alex counters with his own, and their fists collide with a sickening crack. The next moment, Kevin is on the ground, his face pale with shock.

As Kevin struggles to stand, he overhears a conversation about Robert Scott, a powerful and mysterious figure rumored to possess a deadly weapon called 'The Burning Lamp.' It is said that this weapon is not of this world and can reduce enemies to ashes.

Kevin realizes he has walked into something much bigger than a stolen ring. But before he can process it, Alex launches another attack.

Kevin squeezes his eyes shut in fear—only to find himself in a completely different place. He is surrounded by thick, white mist. Confused and terrified, he hears the hiss of a giant snake, and the mist parts to reveal two enormous, deep blue eyes, as large as the moon.

Why is Kevin seeing these gigantic snake-like eyes? What is this mysterious place? Will he get his ring back, or will Alex crush his dreams?
