Chapter 8 - The Business Deal

Out in the open sea, the sky mirrored the vastness of the blue ocean beneath. The gentle rocking of a luxurious yacht broke the otherwise still surface, glistening under the midday sun. Charles stood at the edge of the deck, dressed in an immaculate all-white three pieces tailored suit. His hands clasped behind his back, he exhaled deeply, taking a good look at the salty sea from his yacht.

He gazed at the endless horizon, a serene expression on his face, though his mind swirled with memories from his past. Thirty long years had gone by. Years filled with betrayal, loss, and hard-fought battles.

Charles had been stripped of everything the treachery act of his best friend Dominic, left him with nothing but broken promises and sorrowful memories. The tragic death of his godfather Frederico, and the collapse of their once-thriving empire. Yet, here he stood once again a testament to resilience and willpower, a man who had clawed his way back to success with the help of others and now sought to etch his legacy even deeper into York City's foundations forever.

He whispered to himself, "Thirty years. How time flies..." His voice trailed off as flashes of the past tugged at him, but Charles shook his head and waved them away. The present was his to own, and the future promised to hold something even more greater.

Meanwhile, in the bustling heart of Rico City, another man sat in his sprawling office, overlooking the metropolis he ruled with an iron fist for years. Dominic leaned back in his leather chair, an imposing figure clad in a dark-tailored suit. His graying hair and steely eyes betrayed his years of ruthlessness and cunning. A self-made mafia boss and business mogul, Dominic had risen to power after orchestrating the downfall of the phoenix boss, Frederico, and claiming the Rico City underworld for himself.

The Dominic Corporation, his legitimate business front, was a powerhouse, and his influence stretched beyond the borders of Rico City. Yet, his true domain lay in the shadows, where deals were struck, and power was bought with blood and money.

His daughter have grown up to be part of his business dealing, Kia, entered the Villa looking so bright and shining, her heels clicking softly against the white polished floors. The splitting image of her mother, Kia exuded an aura of self-confidence and ambition. She had just returned from a crucial business meeting, eager to report her success to her father.

"Hello, Father. Are you there? Can I come in?" she asked, peeking through the door.

Dominic looked up, his stern expression softening. "Come in, Kia. How did your day go? I've been waiting for you. Tell me, how did it end?" he asked.

Kia stepped inside, beaming with pride. "It went well. There were some challenges early on, but I handled them with ease. So By the end of the first quarter, we'll generate five million dollars from this deal it's quite small but we can have a better one later."

"So what do you think about it, father!"

At first, Dominic was silent, as if in a deep thought then his lips curled into a rare smile. "Good. You've learned well, you just need a little more time a you can work even bigger ones. This is just the beginning, Kia. Keep pushing, and soon, the Dominic Corporation will be untouchable."

Kia nodded, her eyes shining with determination. While she managed the legitimate side of the family empire, Dominic's right-hand man, Philip, handled the darker side of his operations.

In the dimly lit docks of Rico City, Philip inspected a recent shipment he received. It was a high-stakes delivery worth millions, and the tension in the air was palpable. His phone buzzed, interrupting his thoughts.

"Hello, boss," he answered, his tone respectful.

Dominic's voice came through, cold and commanding. "Philip, is the shipment intact? Is everything as I ordered?"

"Yes, boss. It's exactly as you specified," Philip confirmed.

"Good. Move it to the Blue Side warehouse. The buyers will arrive in less than three hours. Make sure everything goes smoothly. No mistakes."

"Yes, boss. I'll handle it."

Dominic ended the call without another word. He then picked up another phone, contacting the buyers.

"Mr. Chi-Chi, the arrangements are set. The deal will proceed as planned. We'll await your arrival at the warehouse."

"Understood," Mr. Chi-Chi replied, his tone curt.

Mr. Chi-Chi, a shadowy figure in the criminal world, rarely appeared in person. He preferred to let his men handle his dealings, intervening only to ensure that his high standards were met.

As the clock ticked down, the warehouse buzzed with activity. Trucks were loaded, guards patrolled the perimeter, and Philip coordinated the final details. When Mr. Chi-Chi's entourage arrived, they were led inside a conference room and the deal commenced without a hitch.

"Boss, the deal was a success," Philip reported over the phone at the end of the meeting. "six hundred million in cash, twenty million transferred. The products are being transported to the airport for delivery."

Dominic leaned back in his chair, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. "Good work," he said, though a nagging feeling of unease gnawed at the back of his mind.

Elsewhere, in a cozy study bathed in warm white light, Charles sat watching the news after his return from the sea it's been a long way and he needed to rest. His phone buzzed, and he answered swiftly.

"It's done boss," the voice on the other end said.

"Good," Charles replied, his tone measured. He ended the call and leaned back, a small smile playing on his lips.

Charles had been carefully orchestrating moves behind the scenes, gathering allies, resources, and information. He had learned from his past mistakes and was ready to confront the man who had betrayed him.

As Dominic celebrated his recent success, little did he know that Charles was plotting his return. The two men, once close friends, were now on a collision course. Their worlds were destined to clash once more, with York City and Rico City caught in the mist of the crossfire.

Dominic thrived in the shadows, while Charles sought to build something lasting and honorable. Yet, their past bound them in ways neither could escape.

The years of struggle, ambition, and revenge had led to this moment.
