It was indeed a beautiful morning; the birds could be seen flying around and making lots of noise as they jumped from one branch to the other.
Charles and Dominic, two best friends who cared for and loved each other, they were preparing for a mission given to them by their boss, the mafia king, Frederico, a hardcore mafia leader who is known for his ruthless and nonchalant attitude towards others.
Frederico feared no one in Rico City; even the police of the city answered to him. He has countless enemies seeking to take his life. Frederico knew better than to let them have their way, so he took the initiative to wipe them all out, one after another, leaving no trace.
"Hurry up, Dominic! The big boss will be waiting for us. We don't want to keep him waiting for too long; you know how angry he can be, right?" Said Charles.
Dominic didn't even care about what Charles was saying to him; he had his own matters he was dealing with. His girlfriend's family was planning on leaving the country in a week's time, and Dominic wasn't happy about it. He don't want Tricia his girlfriend to go with them.
"Hmmm, don't tell me you are still thinking about her, are you? Come on boy, you can still get other girls out there; you don't need to kill yourself because of her. What will you gain by doing so? Look, in no time we are going to be our own bosses and will have so many ladies to pick from. Besides, the big boss usually gets women for us. So when we complete this mission, I know for sure that we will have plenty of ladies to play around with," Charles said with a wild smile on his white blossom face.
"Now, get dressed and let's move out. I don't want to keep him waiting!" he turned and said in a commanding tone.
Dominic narrowed his eyes, rolled over from the bed onto the floor, picked himself up, and got dressed.
Frederico was already up; he was seated in one of his living rooms, looking through the morning papers that were kept for him.
Frederico hardly had the time to go out; he stayed indoors, sending out his boys to carry out his orders and maintain peace for him.
Frederico had two other siblings who were under his care: Jackson and Samantha.
Jackson was in charge of recruiting men and running the underground dealings belonging to Frederico and a few others: illegal operations in Rico City and beyond.
On the other hand, Sam was known for her fighting skills and expertise in the use of weapons; she was the top and most powerful fighter Frederico relied on, and she never disappointed in anything she was tasked to do.
She helped Frederico take down two of his top enemies and secured a lucrative business contract for her brother, who, in turn, rewarded her handsomely for her loyalty. Samantha was in charge of training and calling the shots at the training facility built by Frederico.
Sam had taken a liking to Charles, and therefore she always wanted him around her, which made Dominic jealous of Charles.
Charles was always favored by either Sam or Mr. Frederico; he was cared for and treated like a son by Mr. Frederico.Unlike the others, Charles was given special treatment even when he failed a test or mission; he would be spared. Dominic had no idea what they saw in him that made them love Charles so much.
When Charles was a little boy, his family was once under the protection of a strong mafia group. His father, Ethan, was the right hand man to the Big boss of the mafia group, and he had many men under his command. But something terrible happened to him.
When ethan and his men were on a mission to wipe out one of their rival groups, they were suddenly attacked from all four corners. Frederico was one of the men Ethan took with him; at that time, Frederico was still a young boy, and he was cared for and loved by the senior members of the group, though some hated him. He was used by others, but Ethan always came to his aid.
When Ethan and his men were cornered by the other groups, Ethan pulled Frederico to the side and said,
"When I tell you to move, move!"
"Hello Ethan!" a voice called out. "You've lost this one."
"This time, good thing we heard about your plans and made sure this will be your last. I have put together all the other mafia group and formed an alliance with them. They all agreed to put an end to your destruction and that of your boss.
Ethan didn't say anything he just stood his group observing the other man as he spoke.
"As a matter of fact, your boss is being killed by another group, so why don't you just give up and I might spare your life!" he said in a playful voice.
"Hahahaha! You think you can take control of Rico city underground world? Such a weakling like you or you boss have no power! He tone carrying a hit of mockery.
"I knew this day would come,
But not so fast, and how did they get to know about our plan? This was done carefully! " Ethan muttered to himself.
Then spoke up again this time more serious.
"Good thing you decided to show up like a man and stop hiding like a woman that you are Hopefully, this will be....! " Ethan couldn't finish his statement as he was interrupted by the man booming voice.
"Hahahaha! You fool! Think again. I have more than a thousand men with me, and you have no more than three hundred, I guess. And you think you can fight head-on with me " he said, a smirk visible on his face.
"How about this, since we all... Want to die so be it". Added the man.
"I am prepared to die; so be it. May the sacrifice of myself and my companions bring peace to Rico City." With that declaration, Ethan charged forward to confront the opposing men, while also creating a path for Frederico to escape as he rushed home to rescue Charles.
Ethan fought valiantly, devoid of fear, fully aware that survival was unlikely in such a brutal confrontation.
The sounds of fists hitting flesh, knives clashing, pans crashing, bombs detonating, and gunfire echoed around the area with each men lock up in a tense battle.
Ethan had come equipped and resolute in his mission to dismantle the rival mafia group, unaware that an alliance had been formed prior to his arrival.
"If I perish today, I will do so as a hero, ensuring my son's safety and the continuation of my work."
With that deceleration, something unexpected happened.
Open-handed, Ethan signaled to his men, who understood his intentions without hesitation. The battlefield quickly descended into chaos, with only lifeless bodies scattered across the ground.
Ethan and his men selflessly gave their lives alongside the thousands from the opposing faction, leaving no survivors; however, this marked merely the onset of the mafia conflict.
