CHAPTER TWO
I started dating at the age of 10. I had so many girlfriends but I'd always have big and small issues with all of them, so they'd always leave.
At 15, I had too many choices and expectations from the girls I dated but none seemed to grab the concept that I wanted a "Perfect Woman". I wanted a Proverbs 31 woman. I didn't want a Ruth or an Esther or Deborah. I wanted Proverbs 31. Growing up, I watched my aunties, my mom and the neighbours. I wanted something...The Perfect Woman.
Aunt Oak, was almost perfect. She had a good job, a well curved body, the perfect smile and beautiful face but she lacked manners. She's very rude. Also, I hated the way she embarrassed me in front of my friends on Thanksgiving Day. That's not how a cultured woman should behave.
Aunt Jay is very God fearing, she loves Jesus so much. So much but I can't like her personality because shes too reserved for my liking. She can't even act up a proper blow kiss...she's tiring and boring.
I like her sometimes. She's calm and very generous and she cares a lot about my wellbeing and that others too.
Mom is a very good wife material. But that's a no no for me because she nags a lot. Throwing shades at almost everything and nothing too. I also hate the way she's too controlling and goes overboard with any little matter that concerns me.
Aunt Fid is the drama queen and very lively. There's never a boring moment around her but she ain't any homely. Her house is always untidy, she's lazy and busy with-nothing except party nights. Nahhh!!! I hate loud mouths and talebearers.
Our next door neighbor, miss Velaria. O! M! G! I'm not gonna lie, I've never in my whole life seen a beauty like hers. My aunts are all beautiful, no doubt. But their whole beauty put together can only be 40% of miss Velaria's beauty. She was created on a bright, sunny day. Shes career-driven, well-disciplined, a no-nonsense lady who minds her business. The kind of smart money corporate lady every man would dream to have. But I can't love her cos she's too bossy and harsh. Too organised for my liking. Her discipline is top notch, I almost dislike her.
Mrs. Aundy beats her husband. What sort of unproverbial woman is that? I can't even try her. Her anger issues thrives as the day goes by.
Oh! My Aunt Viralé is also a fine lady. She made so much money from real estate business. In 2018, she made huge sales and connections. But then, her greatest flaw is that she's a loose woman and she spends a lot. Naaahhhh! I can't deal with such crap.
Money needs to be saved or invested in something meaningful. Besides, she brags a lot about her strength and how she divorced her ex-husband, won child custody and now a single mom.
My dad died when I was one. So my mom does not count as a single mom.
