The next morning, Daniel woke up feeling like his entire world had been flipped upside down. The attack, the revelation about his father, his strange ability—none of it felt real. But as he sat at the kitchen table, staring at the bruises on his arms from last night's chaos, reality sank in.
Mateo placed a plate of toast and eggs in front of him. "Eat. You've got a big day."
Daniel raised an eyebrow. "A big day? I was nearly shot last night, and now we're acting like everything's normal?"
Mateo leaned against the counter. "Normal doesn't exist for you anymore, kid. But if you want to survive, you need to blend in."
Daniel frowned. "Blend in how?"
Mateo smirked. "Like a regular 16-year-old boy. You're starting school at Academia Igualada today."
Daniel nearly choked on his toast. "What?"
Mateo crossed his arms. "Think about it. Whoever's after you—they won't expect you to be living a normal life. Besides, you'll need a cover. And since you're already joining the CF Igualada team , school is part of the deal."
