Chereads / Revenant’s Throne: The Rise of the Undead King / Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 – The Tyrant’s Den

Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 – The Tyrant’s Den

??? AM – The Weight of a Predator

ShadeStalker flinched.

Kyung-min had never seen it react like that before.

Its hulking, armored body stiffened, its clawed feet grinding against the stone as a deep rumble of unease vibrated from within its form.

The wraiths of the Phantom Legion flickered erratically, their normally fluid movements distorted, unstable.

Even the Carrion Mauler under his control—a beast that had torn through enemies without hesitation—lowered its body, tail coiling inward as if trying to retreat.

Something was wrong.

Kyung-min's fingers tightened around his own wrist, steadying himself.

Then—

🔹 [Defeat Boss Proceed to the Next Floor.]

The massive stone gates groaned open, releasing a wave of crushing pressure that made Kyung-min's breath hitch for just a moment.

His jaw clenched.

Not from fear.

But from frustration.

"Another floor after this?" he muttered, dragging a hand through his sweat-dampened hair.

How many more times?

How much longer would he be forced to fight his way through this godforsaken dungeon just to reach the surface?

His fists tightened.

Fine.

If the world wanted to keep throwing enemies at him—

Then he would make sure it regretted it.

??? AM – Stat Allocation Before the Battle

🔹 [You Have 55 Free Stat Points to Allocate.]

Kyung-min opened his Status Window, fingers already moving.

🔹 [Strength: 30 → 40]

🔹 [Agility: 35 → 50]

🔹 [Stamina: 42 → 50]

🔹 [Intelligence: 110 → 120]

🔹 [Perception: 55 → 60]

🔹 [Stats Updated.]

🔹 [HP: 570 → 670]

🔹 [MP: 1,300 → 1,500]

His muscles tightened.

His breath steadied.

His mind sharpened.

He could feel it—the difference was immediate.

But that wasn't enough.

Not yet.

??? AM – Raising the Dead

Kyung-min turned, his gaze sweeping across the battlefield of corpses sprawled behind him.

Dozens of twisted, broken bodies littered the cavern floor—remnants of his last battle.

The Abyss Crushers, monstrous juggernauts of rotting flesh and shattered bone, lay still where they had fallen.

The Riftborn Stalkers, flickering between visibility and nothingness, had crumpled into distorted shadows, their spectral essence lingering.

The Carrion Maulers, grotesque scavengers with half-decayed frames, lay in pools of congealed black blood, their twisted limbs twitching in reflexive death spasms.

And the goblins…

Their bodies were scattered, their blood painting the cavern walls.

They had died like vermin.

And now—

They would serve him.

🔹 [Revenant's Command – Full Activation.]

The air shuddered.

A pulse of abyssal power rippled across the cavern floor, sinking into the rotting corpses like blackened veins spreading through flesh.

Then—

They moved.

Ripped tendons and shattered limbs snapped back into place.

Hollow eyes burned anew with unnatural light.

Teeth gnashed.

Claws scraped against the cavern stone.

One of the Abyss Crushers, its skull half-caved in, dragged itself upright—but its body no longer belonged to itself.

A Riftborn Stalker, flickering violently, rose from the abyss, its twisted form regaining shape.

Even the Goblin Marauders, creatures that had once been weak and pathetic in life, shuddered back into undeath, their movements unnatural—silent.

Their deaths had freed them.

And now they were his.

🔹 [You Have Seized Control of 20 Undead.]

🔹 [2x Abyss Crusher – Strength-Based Tank]

🔹 [3x Riftborn Stalker – Stealth-Based Assassin]

🔹 [2x Carrion Mauler – High-Speed Strikers]

🔹 [3x Goblin Marauder – Elite Frontline Fighters]

🔹 [10x Goblin Marauder – Standard Undead Infantry]

Kyung-min exhaled sharply.

Much better.

He wasn't walking into the boss room with just three wraiths and a summon.

Now—

He had a legion.

His fingers curled into a fist.

"Move out."

ShadeStalker tensed, leading the charge.

The Phantom Wraiths flickered, gliding forward like whispering shadows.

The undead horde followed, their twisted, unnatural movements perfectly synchronized, moving as one singular force.

Kyung-min took one last glance at the battlefield he had created.

Then—

He stepped forward.

The moment his foot crossed the threshold—

The gates behind him slammed shut.

??? AM – The Tyrant Awakens

The boss chamber was colossal—larger than any dungeon room he had encountered so far.

It wasn't just built for a monster.

It was built for something beyond that.

Jagged pillars of abyssal stone jutted from the ground, their surfaces carved with deep battle scars.

An eerie pulse of light flickered from the ceiling, illuminating the battlefield just enough to cast long, stretching shadows.

And at the center—

Something stirred.

Then—

Six crimson eyes snapped open.

🔹 [Dungeon Boss – Tyrant Devourer (Level 45) Has Awakened.]

Kyung-min's breath remained steady.

He had expected this.

But the pressure that followed was unlike anything before.

The Tyrant Devourer uncoiled, its abyss-infused scales gleaming under the dim glow. Its serpentine body stretched across the entire battlefield, its massive clawed forelimbs gouging the stone beneath it.

Its six burning eyes locked onto him, watching.

Calculating.

Measuring his worth.

And then—

It charged.

??? AM – The First Clash

🔹 [Gravewalker's Frenzy – Activated.]

Kyung-min moved instantly.

His speed doubled, his body becoming a blur.

ShadeStalker vanished into the shadows, its massive form disappearing like a living phantom.

The Riftborn Stalkers flickered, moving in distorted intervals, closing in from the Tyrant's blind spots.

The Abyss Crushers charged head-on, colliding with the Tyrant like walking fortresses.

The impact shook the entire chamber.

Stone cracked.

The Tyrant's momentum stalled—for a fraction of a second.

And in that brief moment—

Kyung-min vanished.

🔹 [Abyss Step – Activated.]

He reappeared behind the Tyrant, claws flashing.

His strike connected, carving deep into the Tyrant's hind leg.

Blood sprayed.

The Carrion Maulers followed, their talons ripping through the beast's flesh, trying to slow its movements.

ShadeStalker struck next, lunging for the Tyrant's throat.

For a moment—

It looked like it was working.

And then—

The Tyrant's wounds sealed instantly.

Kyung-min's heart pounded.

🔹 [Boss Ability Detected – Tyrant Regeneration.]

"…Advanced regeneration?"

His jaw clenched.

This wasn't going to be a normal fight.

If he didn't figure something out now—

Then this battle was going to last forever.
