Chapter 1 - Prologue

The players had just killed the last undead of their enemy's forces; it had been a long, hard battle, like few others that had been fought in that fantasy game. Of the more than a thousand players who had stayed to defend the south, Camelot and everything they had built since the beginning of the game, there were barely six hundred left standing.

The expected reinforcements from the north never arrived in time; among the mud, blood and corpses, there were not only humans, but also many elves and dwarves who had died at their side. However, the human leader did not understand why the reinforcements had not arrived.

"Even if they arrived now, what would it be worth?"

"The news was good, encouraging, Lion's plan went well, something must have happened and something terrible for him not to come to our aid..."

Elves, Dwarves and the rest of the races of the alliance decided to return to the safety of Camelot, after many battles, arm in arm, shield in shield. Most of them were much more than allies, they could safely be called friends.

However, Hiro had no intention of retreating.

"We will go north, if Lion has not been able to help us, maybe he is the one who needs it. Break camp, we are moving!"

The human troops advanced for days, for weeks, until when they reached the valley of Dul Agbar, in the steppes of central Sentria they began to see a trail of orc corpses wherever they walked. It was as if a battle of much more epic proportions than the one they themselves had fought had taken place; however, something much stranger was happening, there was not a single ally among the bodies.

It was as if they had never been there at all. The Rankers advanced to a high promontory, beyond the valley was cut by a ravine and the steppes continued below, as if a part of the earth had been raised by the stomp of a giant.

When they looked at the horizon, it was as if a great storm had broken out in the north. The problem was that it was advancing rapidly towards them. Amidst the turbulence, a point of light could be seen flying even faster.

Hiro was sure, it was Lion. He came to them with a face of genuine panic. It was the first time they had seen that leader, that hero, that player in such a state of agitation.

"What are you doing here?! You should be in the south..."

"We came running when we saw that your reinforcements had not arrived, but it seems that you have already taken care of..."

"There is no time for battles, gather the men, we are in danger, this world is doomed!"

"What do you mean, Lion?"

"I will explain it to you later, I can only tell you that this timeline is going to cease to exist..."

"Have you finished the Beta?"

Lion laughed, his friends kept talking about this world as the game they were supposed to be playing, it would be hard when they knew the truth... And the worst problem was that Lion himself was the culprit of everything that was happening.
