Two Weeks Later
The night air was cool as Tatsumaki hovered lazily above the city, arms crossed, eyes scanning the streets below. She had gone out for a walk—or rather, a casual flight—to clear her mind, but something in the distance caught her attention.
A black-and-silver-armored figure darted around at blinding speed, weaving effortlessly through the battlefield. Below him, Genos struggled to keep up, his eyes blazing with frustration.
"You're too slow, Demon Cyborg," the ninja taunted, slashing at Genos with a razor-sharp katana before vanishing again.
Genos snarled, his sensors whirling in desperation, but every time he struck back, his opponent was already gone.
"Well, I had my fun. Now die!" the ninja cackled.
"Scatter Flash Slash!"
Four afterimages of the ninja materialized around Genos in a blur, their blades descending upon him like a synchronized execution squad.
Genos braced for impact—only for the attack to never land.
A deafening crash echoed through the streets as the ninja was sent hurtling into a nearby wall.
"Genos, step aside. Let me handle this," Tatsumaki ordered, floating down from above.
Genos wiped the dust from his face. "No, we should fight together—"
"Shut up, tin can!" Tatsumaki snapped.
A low chuckle echoed from the rubble. The ninja dusted himself off, his eyes gleaming with amusement.
"Well, well, well... if it isn't the Tornado of Terror. My luck never seems to run out."
Tatsumaki scoffed. "Hmph! As if some wannabe ninja could even scratch me. Bring it on, rat."
"My name is Speed-o'-Sound Sonic," the ninja declared, his grin widening. "And I will have the pleasure of spilling your blood, little Tornado!"
With a flick of his wrist, he unleashed a flurry of explosive shurikens.
Tatsumaki yawned, flicking her wrist as the shurikens stopped midair, harmlessly hovering around her.
"Is that all?" she teased.
"No, that was just a distraction, fool!" Sonic sneered.
In an instant, he appeared behind her, his katana slashing in a wide arc. But before the blade could reach her, a translucent psychic shield flared to life, deflecting the attack effortlessly.
Tatsumaki retaliated with a powerful burst of psychic energy, sending Sonic skidding backward.
"It's only a matter of time before I read your movements and counter your every attack," Sonic boasted, dashing in circles around her, pelting her with kunai and shurikens.
Tatsumaki growled in irritation, hurling boulders and trees in every direction to halt his movements, but Sonic zipped through the debris with ease.
"I thought you were stronger than this. Have you lost your touch?" he mocked, suddenly appearing beside her and tapping her shoulder before vanishing again with a taunting laugh.
Tatsumaki's expression darkened.
"ENOUGH!"
A massive shockwave erupted from her, sending Sonic crashing into the ground.
"Got you now!" she snarled, summoning a storm of psychic lightning.
Sonic smirked. "Smart move. But still too slow, Tornado."
He vanished again—only to reappear above her, his foot descending in a spinning motion.
"Whirlwind Kick!"
Tatsumaki's eyes widened just as the powerful strike connected with her skull. The impact sent her plummeting headfirst into the earth, the ground cracking beneath her.
Sonic landed gracefully, brushing off his armor.
"And so ends the great Tornado of Terror," he mused. "Psychic abilities or not, you're still just a fragile little girl."
He spat on the ground and turned away.
Then, the earth trembled.
A faint green glow flickered beneath the rubble.
Sonic's eyes widened as Tatsumaki slowly rose from the debris, her emerald irises burning with fury.
"You thought that was enough to kill me?" she growled, as trees and chunks of stone hovered ominously around her.
Sonic took an involuntary step back. "Impossible! No one has ever survived that kick... well, except for Saitama, I suppose."
Tatsumaki's glare intensified. "I won't fall for your tricks this time."
With a flick of her wrist, the surrounding debris launched toward Sonic in a lethal barrage.
Sonic blurred out of sight. "We shall see."
"How can you possibly keep up with me?" he taunted, appearing behind her with a kunai poised for a killing strike.
Tatsumaki turned just in time, but Sonic was already gone. She glanced up—he was perched on a tree branch, doing a mocking dance.
Her expression twisted in annoyance.
With a casual wave of her hand, she sent a blast of energy toward him. Sonic dodged.
"You shouldn't have lowered your guard," he whispered from behind.
A sharp pain seared through her shoulder.
Tatsumaki staggered, blood seeping into her clothes as she clutched the deep cut.
Sonic grinned. "Weak."
Tatsumaki gritted her teeth. "You'll pay for that."
With a furious roar, she unleashed a tornado that engulfed Sonic, spinning him violently before slamming him into a wall.
He groaned, struggling to rise—only for Tatsumaki to fling him around like a ragdoll, battering him against the ground repeatedly.
Finally, she hovered over him, breathing heavily, a massive chunk of concrete levitating above her.
"Any last words, coward?" she hissed.
Sonic coughed, blood trickling down his chin. "Yes… today is your funeral."
He mustered his last bit of strength, his body vibrating unnaturally.
"Ten Shadows Burial!"
Ten identical afterimages surrounded her, striking all at once.
Tatsumaki unleashed a wave of psychic lightning, shattering the illusions. But before she could react—
Pain.
A blade sliced across her throat.
Her vision blurred.
Before she could retaliate, Sonic appeared in front of her, his kunai gleaming in the moonlight. With a wicked grin, he plunged the blade into her stomach, twisting it cruelly.
Tatsumaki gasped, her knees buckling, blood spilling from both wounds.
But as Sonic smirked in triumph, a final surge of energy exploded from her, knocking him unconscious.
"TATSUMAKI!"
Genos sprinted toward her as she collapsed, barely catching her before she hit the ground.
"Someone get an ambulance, now!" he shouted.
Tatsumaki's vision darkened as she reached out weakly—then, everything faded to black.
