Chapter 13: Surprise
Yang Xie didn't know how many times he had practiced. The more he trained, the better he became. The more he practiced, the more he couldn't stop. His entire body was drenched in sweat, but his expression was filled with excitement.
With the combined efforts of his Shadow Soldiers and himself, Yang Xie could instinctively feel that his swordsmanship had improved. His mastery of the blade had soared to new heights.
"You're seriously a training lunatic. You've been practicing that sword technique for three hours straight. It's already past one o'clock in the morning," Nangong Ya said, looking at him with an exasperated expression as she awoke from her meditation.
"Hahaha! The feeling of getting stronger is just too addicting—I completely lost track of time," Yang Xie replied, brushing off her concern.
"Alright, that's enough for today. Get some rest. There's plenty of time to train tomorrow."
"Okay, see you in the morning."
The sun was shining brightly, birds were chirping, and the scent of fresh flowers filled the air. It was a beautiful new day.
At the breakfast table, Nangong Batian spoke in a calm yet commanding tone.
"I already informed your class teacher this morning. You can focus on your training without any worries."
In this world, even senior high school students had two days off per week. Those without awakener talent had no hope of ever becoming warriors, so no matter how hard they studied, it was ultimately useless.
However, as a newly awakened talent, Yang Xie's time was precious. With only one month left before the College Entrance Examination, every second counted.
The entrance exam for awakened students wasn't just about academics—it was a real-life combat test, where warriors had to hunt beasts. The mortality rate was significant, so students had to justify any absences from school.
Originally, Yang Xie had planned to notify his teacher, but it turned out that Nangong Batian had already taken care of it.
'Looks like today will be another full day of training…' Yang Xie thought to himself.
Boom!
The heavy punching machine vibrated as a massive number flashed on the screen.
"700 kg!"
Nangong Ya, who had been watching, was completely stunned.
"Yang Xie… did you just become a warrior?!" she asked in disbelief.
"How is that possible? I'm still running Zhou Tian. Why would you think that?" Yang Xie responded, genuinely confused.
Nangong Ya rolled her eyes at him in frustration.
"Have you never checked the basic stats of a warrior?" she asked. "Once a gifted person successfully forms a spiritual seed, their body is strengthened by spiritual energy. Their physical strength also improves drastically."
She began explaining in detail:
When someone reaches the first level of a warrior, their punching force is 200 kg.
With Small Zhou Tian, it rises to 300 kg.
With Great Zhou Tian, it becomes 400 kg.
Finally, the limit before advancing is 500 kg.
"But your punching force is already 700 kg," Nangong Ya continued, eyes wide with shock. "That means you've already exceeded the warrior threshold!"
Yang Xie was speechless. He had been so focused on running Zhou Tian that he never bothered to check his own stats.
'I really haven't advanced yet,' he thought to himself. 'When I woke up this morning, I had already completed 138 Zhou Tian cycles… but I have no idea what the limit actually is.'
Most people struggled to break through the limit and become a warrior. But for me… I don't even know when my limit is coming.
Sigh… Maybe having too much talent is also a problem!
"Yaya, would you believe me if I said I still haven't become a warrior yet?" Yang Xie said, looking at her with a smirk.
Nangong Ya's expression was filled with absolute disbelief.
"Are you kidding me?! A warrior reaches the threshold at 500 kg, and your strength is already 700 kg. And you still claim you haven't advanced yet?"
She continued, "Not to mention, yesterday, you killed five alien wolves all by yourself. And today, I see your Martial Soul manifesting physically to fight.
A D-level talent shouldn't even be able to materialize their Martial Soul until they reach the Martial Master realm!
Yang Xie, this is abnormal. If anyone finds out, it will raise suspicions. You must never reveal your real talent to outsiders.
If the Alien God Cult learns about this, you'll be placed on their assassination list. And even if they don't target you, the government will treat you like a test subject in a lab."
Yang Xie felt touched. Nangong Ya wasn't blaming him for hiding secrets—she was genuinely worried for his safety.
"Yaya… I'll be honest with you. I actually have a God-Level Martial Soul talent."
Nangong Ya froze.
"What?!"
"I don't know why the Awakening Stone only ranked it as D-Level, but the information given to me by my Martial Soul itself confirms that it's God-Level."
Nangong Ya narrowed her eyes, deep in thought.
"God-Level talent? Are you messing with me? The highest known ranks are F to SSS-Level. Are you telling me your talent is beyond SSS-Level?"
Yang Xie shrugged.
"My Martial Soul told me so. Maybe SSS-Level is actually the same as God-Level—I'm not sure. But based on its abilities, I'd say it's even stronger."
Nangong Ya took a deep breath.
"My talent is S-Level, and even with my family's support, I've only completed 5 Zhou Tian cycles so far.
Yet you, a so-called D-Level talent, have already killed five alien wolves single-handedly.
At this point, there's no doubt that your true talent surpasses S-Level. If I had to guess… you're probably an SSS-Level talent, which is already incredibly rare in history."
Yang Xie simply smiled but didn't confirm or deny it.
"If the Awakening Stone failed to measure your true talent, then you should just pretend you don't know. An SSS-Level talent is too dangerous to reveal. Even if the higher-ups in Kyoto learn about you, the Alien Cult and alien beasts will try to assassinate you before you have the chance to grow."
Yang Xie only had his grandmother left as family, and without the protection of a powerful clan, he would be too vulnerable.
"A tree that stands too tall in the forest will be blown down by the wind," Nangong Ya warned.
Yang Xie was deeply moved.
"Yaya, I trust you completely. That's why I told you my secret."
Nangong Ya smiled softly.
"I'll keep your secret. But you must never reveal it to anyone else."
"Of course. I wouldn't tell anyone… except my dear Yaya."
Yang Xie looked at her with a playful smirk, making Nangong Ya blush.
Meanwhile…
Outside the room, Nangong Batian stood silently, his powerful senses having picked up every word of their conversation.
"A God-Level talent… surpassing SSS-Level?"
His eyes narrowed.
"If that's true, then this boy is the variable that will shake the entire world."
After a brief moment, Nangong Batian smirked.
"I should personally test his limits and ensure he receives the proper training."
With that decision made, he stepped forward.
