Synopsis

Settings and Changes

The story will take place starting the year Fred and George Weasley go to Hogwarts (so two years before Harry).

Hufflepuff's cup, the gaunt ring, Slytherin's locket, and Ravenclaw's Diadem have been destroyed.

The main character will be a Pure-Blooded Headmaster, who grew up in the muggle world with his squib relatives.

Albus Dumbledore is the Vice Headmaster, who teaches the DADA class.

Heads of Houses cannot give more than 20 points to their houses per day and cannot take more than 20 points from each house each day. (Snape's favoritism gets nerfed)

Quidditch is a 2-hour long game, where the golden snitch is worth 50 points and gets released 5 minutes after every catch. (So, the golden snitch does not end the game). 1st years can try out for Quidditch. Each house can field two teams (A and B), and all teams will participate in the end of the year Quidditch tournament.

The Quidditch regular season is a single round robin (each team plays each other once, and yes, Hufflepuff A will play Hufflepuff B).

Wins are worth 3 points, ties 1, and losses 0. Tiebreaker goes down to points scored then head-to-head, and, if necessary, overall house standing.

NOTE that if Hufflepuff A and B had the same amount of point scored and tied in the head-to-head, Hufflepuff A would be ranked above Hufflepuff B.

The Quidditch tournament is a single elimination tournament. If the game is tied after regulation, there will be a 30 minute over time, and if the game is still tied, then the game will be determined by a GOLDEN snitch, whoever catches the snitch first wins.

There will be a third-place match.

Dueling Club will be a thing, and there will a school ranking for it.

According to JK Rowling, around 1000 students attend Hogwarts. I am going to round up to 1050 students and say that Hogwarts accepts exactly 150 students per year, just because it makes the rankings easier.

There is a ranking tournament for first years one month into the first term. Rankings carry over from year to year. Ranking challenges occur once a month. Challengers can only challenge within 10 places of their placement. If the person who got challenged loses, then they swap ranks. However, they still have the opportunity to challenge 10 spots above their original rank. (This can cause major changes in the rankings)

So, the points awards will be:

1st-7th Years:

1st --- 25 House Points + Commendation and Rewards + O in Charms OWLs/NEWTs

2nd --- 22 House Points + Commendation and Rewards + O in Charms OWLs/NEWTs

3rd --- 20 House Points + Commendation and Rewards + O in Charms OWLs/NEWTs

4th-5th --- 18 House Points + Rewards

6th-10th --- 15 House Points + Rewards

11th-25th --- 10 House Points

25th-50th --- 5 House Points

51st-68th ---- 1 House Point

69th --- 2 House Points (because why not)

70th-75th ---- 1 House Point

76th-95th ---- -1 House Point

96th --- -2 House Points (it's my least favorite number)

97th-100th ----- -1 House Point

101st-148th ----- -3 House Points and summer classes

149th ----- 3 House Points (An incentive for underachievers) and summer classes

150th ------ -10 House Points and summer classes

NOTE that 7th Years do not take summer classes

At the end of the school, there will be a final dueling tournament in which the top 7 students from the 1st and 2nd years, as well as the top 10 students from the 3rd - 7th years will compete in an end of year Dueling Tournament.

Final Dueling Tournament Set Up:

16 blocks of 4 will be randomly created. The participants will then play a round robin within their block with the top two advancing from each block, if there is a tie within the grouping (2 students have 2 wins and 1 loss), the older student will get the higher seeding.

There will then be a 32-person single elimination tournament to determine placements.

There is also a third-place match.

Final Dueling Tournament Rewards:

1st Place: 150 House Points + Commendation and Rewards + Trophy + Automatic Ticket to International Dueling Tournament

2nd Place: 100 House Points + Commendation and Rewards + Automatic Ticket to International Dueling Tournament

3rd Place: 75 House Points + Commendation and Rewards + Automatic Ticket to International Dueling Tournament
