## ** Chapter 2: The Wedding Ceremony **

The main hall of the mansion was full of guests, all dressed in luxurious costumes and carrying elaborate gifts. The air was heavy with the smell of incense and the murmur of animated conversations. Liang Feng entered the hall, feeling the weight of the eyes over him.

He walked to the center of the hall, where an altar decorated with flowers and candles was mounted. The bride was already there, dressed in a red and gold costume, her face covered by a embroidered veil. She looked as far away as he felt.

The master of ceremonies announced the beginning of the ritual, and the guests silent. Liang Feng looked at the bride, trying to read some emotion in her eyes, but the veil hid everything.

- "Liang Feng, do you accept this woman as your wife, to honor and protect, in health and disease, until death separates them?" Asked the master of ceremonies.

Liang Feng hesitated for a moment, feeling the energy of Qi flowing inside it. He knew this marriage was just a political move, a way to unite two families. But he also knew that for now it was his best chance to survive and gain power in this new world.

"I accept," said, his voice firm and clear.

The bride did the same, her voice soft, without emotion. The guests applauded, but Liang Feng felt something was wrong. There was a tension in the air, as if everyone was waiting for him to fail.

After the ceremony, the guests gathered for a banquet. Liang Feng was taken to a table where the leaders of the most influential families were sitting. He felt the heavy look of an older man, dressed in even more luxurious clothes than the others.

"Then you are the young man who married my daughter," said the man, his voice loaded with disdain. - "I hope you know what you're doing."

Liang Feng kept calm, feeling the energy of Qi flowing through his body. He knew this man was powerful, but he also knew he could not show weakness.

"I will do whatever necessary to protect and honor your daughter," he said, keeping his gaze fixed on the man.

The man laughed, a dry and humorless sound.

"We'll see how long you last," he said, before turning around and start talking to someone else.

Liang Feng felt a wave of anger but controlled her. He knew this was just the beginning. He needed to be patient, needed to gain time to strengthen himself.

While the banquet continued, Liang Feng noticed that the bride had disappeared. He decided to look for her, feeling that he needed to better understand the person with whom he was now married.

He found her in a quiet garden, away from the noise of the banquet. She was sitting on a bench, looking at the stars. Liang Feng approached silently, but she realized her presence.

"You shouldn't be here," she said, without looking at him.

-"I'm your husband now. I think I have the right to know with whom I married," said Liang Feng, sitting next to her.

She finally looked at him, and he saw that his eyes were full of tears.

"You don't know what you got into," he whispered. - "This marriage is a scam. My father only wants the power of his family."

Liang Feng smiled, feeling a twinge of empathy for her.

"I know," he said. - "But maybe we can use it to our advantage."

She looked at him, surprised.

- "What do you mean?"

"" I'm not the weak man everyone thinks I am, "said Liang Feng, his voice full of determination. - "And if we work together, we can change our destiny."

The bride looked at him for a moment, before giving a small nod.

"You may be different," he admitted. "But beware, Liang Feng. This world is dangerous, and not all are what they seem."

Liang Feng smiled, feeling that he had won an ally.

"I know," he said. - "But I'm not what I look like."
