There was no way she would call her an animal or Na, whatever that meant. She was going to be Yarrah, and even if she is unable to get others to call her that, she would be Yarrah to her.
Zara helped her get up from the floor she still knelt down on and could see her hiding her face to smile her hearts out. Intriguing that giving her a name would make her so happy as she currently was.
"I will light the fragrances and prepare a bath for you madam, it's almost time for dinner and we need to make it there in time before the house owner arrives"
Zara nodded at her and sat on the dressed bed as she watched her putting so flower petals inside a container. She watched as she lighted a matchstick an sticked inside the container and in the next few minutes, the room began to ooze a flowery smell and feel.
"Should I change the fragrance madam? I love the red petals because they make the room smell like rose peonies but I don't know which one you would prefer. Should I get the Egyptian or Arabian….."
"You know more than me Yarrah and whatever choice you make is okay to me"
" Okay madam"
"Zara"
"Yes madam"
" Zara. Please call me Zara"
" It's not possible madam. You are my owner and I cannot call you by your name"
"Just say Zara, it's not hard to" Zara repeated her name not minding what she had said. It was going to be a new war now. Getting her to call her by her name instead of the madam madam she went on referring her as.
She was a young lady as she was and there was absolutely no reason for her to hold her in such a high position because of their social difference.
"I will lose my job madam. You will soon become one of the necks of this household. The house owner said that I should take care of you because you will soon become his wife. How dare I call his wife by her name? How dare I call you Zara Fahad without the madam at the front?"
" Aziza"
"Madam..?" Yarrah's voice trailed off. She was surprised and questioning what was wrong with the lady. Why wouldn't she let the name argument rest. Or had she been sent by her enemies to make sure that she gets chased away from working for the Fahad household?
"Call me Aziza then. Aziza Ali please. And not Aziza Fahad. Aziza belongs to Ali"
" Yes, madam. I will go prepare you bath now" Yarrah bit her tongue realizing that she has made a mistake again.
And Zara didn't scream at her because she could tell the years and what it took for her to be like this. So submissive and scared of authority. Not as if she herself wasn't,but sometimes she challenged the authorities and refused bowing to what they demanded of her.
"Aziza" Yarrah finally called after a split seconds and Zara nodded her head at her smiling she had taken corrections.
Yarrah walked out of her presence into a door that seemed to lead to another inner space.
She was going to make the lady feel at home, she was going to turn her to her minion. Even if Fahad's other family members had planted her here to be obedient to their caprices of making her an unfavored wife, she was going to find a way, with Harrahs help,to not fall into their whims.
Zara stood up from where she was and changed her clothes to a towel she saw lying on the bed. Yarrah must have prepared them in ready for her before leading her to the room as she must have known, given the smart woman she was that a bathe was what she would need next after arriving.
Next, she followed the lane Yarrah had walked and opened the door to the space inside, stumbling on someone as she did and both of them falling helplessly to the floor.
"Madam, who helped you change your clothes? Has the second worker arrived already?"
"What second worker?" Zara asked as Yarrah picked herself up and ran to help her stand, even though she knew she could do so on her own.
She opened the door but saw no one in sight. Has she gone already? She asked herself.
"Who helped you change into the towel? Is it the lady with the red hair or was her hair black? I don't know hic one of them the master said he would tell to be my aid in caring for you" Yarrah went on with her explanations.
Zara stared at herself and the towel she had changed into. What made Yarrah believe that she couldn't change into something such as a towel for her to be needing aid from a red and black haired woman.
"I changed into them by myself. Is anything wrong with that?" She asked her genuinely surprised by how worked up she was. Or were there also superstitions about how a miserable life awaited brides to be if they were to change into towels before a bathe by themselves?
"Will my husband find me unpleasant if I change into a towel for a bathe by myself?" Zara asked and Yarrah nodded in the negative.
"Then why are you so worried that i did so?" Zara asked again.
"It is my duty to help you with everything madam. Atleast until the other workers arrive to aid the job"
" What do you mean helping me with everything? Don't I have hands to do some of them by myself?" She questioned again.
"You do but it is still my duty to. Helping you with a bathe, dressing you up, combining your hair, washing your clothes, styling your hair, putting you to sleep, everything you might need to do to ease comfort, it is my duty to provide them all"
Back at her father's mansion, this wasn't how things were.
She did everything for herself. The laundry, the cooking, her cleaning and practically everything that just got mentioned. What did she mean by that when she said she would be helping her with a bathe. That was all stupid and sounded crazy to her that such a respectable figure such as the prime minister engaged in the employment of people for such stupid tasks as what she just mentioned her work was to do.
"I'm supposing you would also need to chew food and put in my stomach for me not to get hungry?"
" What? No no madam, no no! Of course not" Yarrah defended. Why would she even think that. It was impossible.
"Please leave the bathroom Yarrah, I will have my bathe by myself. As you can see,I have hands that are still perfectly working" she said waving her fingers into thin air for her to see.
Yarrah didn't know what to protest saying and because she had been commanded by her madam to leave, she did leave, leaving Zara alone in the bathroom as she heaved a sigh of relief.
