Chapter 1 - storm

The sea stretched endlessly, a vast blue expanse reflecting the fading glow of the late afternoon sun. The hum of the ship's modern engines rose, cutting through the ocean's silence with a steady mechanical whir. The ship, Neptune 7, was a massive metal fishing vessel, equipped with advanced navigation systems and radars capable of detecting any disturbances in the sea. On its deck stood Sam, leaning against a stainless steel railing, his distant eyes fixed on the infinite horizon.

Sam was a young sailor, accustomed to the life of the sea. He wore a loosely fastened work jacket and fishing trousers. He had spent his life among the waves, not seeking grand adventures or chasing big dreams. His work was clear: to fish, gather what he could for a living, and return to shore. Nothing more, nothing less.

But the sea cares little for the simplicity of human dreams.

The sky began to darken with thick gray clouds, despite the radar's earlier assurances of stable weather. The gentle breeze turned into strong winds that shook the maritime flags and howled like a final warning before disaster.

"What is this?" Sam muttered, glancing at a small screen mounted near the cabin, displaying erratic lines indicating unusual disturbances. "The radar is picking up a sudden weather change... but that's impossible."

Then, the captain's voice came through the internal speaker:

"All crew to their stations! An unexpected storm is approaching rapidly!"

The crew sprang into action, securing equipment and battening down what they could. The engine roared at full power, but the waves began to strike the ship with increasing force. The waves rose to an unnatural height, like towering walls of water threatening to swallow the entire vessel.

Sam gripped a metal pole tightly, screaming internally:

"This isn't normal... this isn't just a storm."

Then came the thunder. It wasn't an ordinary sound, but more like an explosion in the sky. Lightning split across the horizon, and strange violet streaks of light danced among the clouds.

The captain shouted again:

"Hold on to something! The wave is coming!"

Sam turned quickly to see a wall of water, taller than anything he had ever witnessed. He tried to escape, but his feet slipped on the wet metal deck. His body slammed against the railing, and warm blood trickled from his head. In that final moment, he looked up and whispered:

"No... not like this..."

The wave hit the ship. Everything plunged into darkness .
