At the table.
One person raised his hand.
Elder Salvator looked at him and said, " What is it, Brandon?"
Brandon Sullivan looked at Bella's father and said, " What is he doing here?"
Derek looked at Brandon, " Ohh, the witchy boy got a problem?"
Brandon slams his hand on the table, " Watch What you say, Derek, don't even think about disrespecting me. I am the member of this table; you, on the other hand, have been banished from this table."
" Ohh, get over it, Brandon; you just couldn't deal with the fact that I have more Powers than you; you convinced everyone in the society that I was a danger to them. Because of that, I was kept away from my family; I was away from my sweet daughter, my son, my wife, and my father for 24 years. Well, guess what? I am more powerful now. Do you want to fight with me and test them?"
Bella looked at Brandon and shook her head.
Brandon was shaking from his anger. Looking at him Jack Adkins looked at his Son to stop him. Before Derek could say any more.
Elder Salvatore said, " I have an announcement to make; as of today, the banishment upon Derek Adkins has been lifted, and he is also a part of the society meetings henceforth."
* Shock*
Quite a few gasps were heard both from at the table and above on the balcony.
Bella looked at her brother, who was trying really hard to not jump around from happiness. He held her hand to control himself.
Feeling someone's gaze, Bella looked up and saw Lucas tilting his head; he smiled and said, " Congratulations, Victor, it seems that luck is on your side today; you can finally shut Everett up if she ever brings your father and sister topic again."
Everett looked at Lucas angrily," Shut up Lucas."
Lucas turned to her, and his gaze turned deadly sharp. Looking at him, Everett got flustered.
" I am Sorry Lucas"
" What was that about?" I turn to Victor.
Victor looks around and whispers," Nothing; sometimes Everett pulled my leg by bringing you and Father into our conversations. Of course, I gave her befitting replies, but that doesn't change the fact that it hurts."
Finding something off she whispers back, " Okay, but why is she so afraid of Lucas?"
Victor kept his eyes on Everett and said, Lucas is the heir to Salvatore's family. That means the moment James Salvatore steps down, he will be leading that table, and no one here is capable enough to go against his powers, especially witches; Lucas's power can destroy Everett within seconds."
I nodded my head and looked up, and there he was, still looking at me and smiling. Does he think that I am afraid of him like others? I tilted my head like him and smiled back at him. Lucas straightened up his body.
" What does that mean? For what reason?" Brandon shouted at the top of his lungs.
" Settledown Brandon, and for god sake behave like a leader." Saying this, Elder Salvatore shook his head.
" We all know that we are under attack; for the past 2months, there has been an increasing number of mysterious deaths in our society. We have reached out to other societies and all of us have tried to find out the reasons. So far, we have nothing; I am not going to take any more risks."
Brandon shakes his head," So you called this guy? For all we know he could be the killer?"
Jack Adkins looked at Brandon and said, " Watch What you say, Brandon. You so much as point your finger at my son, I will kill you, and the Adkins will no longer heal any witches after that."
Before Brandon could continue, Elder Salvatore raised from his seat, " I am his witness; when the last murder happened, I was with Derek, and even if you think it could be a group, Derek is not part of it. We kept our eyes on him 24/7 for all the years he stayed away. Look, I brought Derek back because I want this to end. I want my people to feel safe again. Derek will be in charge of a team; he will pick up his team from the young ones that are here today, that's why I called this meeting. If anyone has any more questions or objections to this plan, feel free to come to me, but the people Derek picks will be working with him whether they like it or not. That's it. Thank you."
Elder Salvatore then left with Jack Adkins and some others. Brandon and Steeve Salvatore stayed behind keeping an eye on Derek.
" We should go down; you coming?" She asks Victor.
" You don't have to ask Sister"
" Daddy!"
Derek turned in time to catch Bella, who ran right into him, " There you are, let me see your face, my dumpling."
Seeing Bella reminded Derek of his wife; both his daughter and wife were so much alike. He hugged her again in happiness.
Victor came and joined in; Derek was overwhelmed when he realized that he was holding both of his children, which he didn't think was possible. Now only his wife was left to reunite with.
" Wow, reunion, is it, Derek?" Steeve, Lucas's father, said sarcastically. Seeing that Derek was ignoring him, he shook his head and turned to look at his Son. Seeing his son's cold face he sighed.
Brandon kept shaking his head, " This can't be happening; Steeve, say something; we can't hand over our children to him. He is capable of doing anything."
Derek looked at Brandon and smiled, " By all means, go ahead and put up a fight, Brandon; maybe at least this time, try to fight like a man. Go ahead and raise your voice against Elder Salvatore. Ohh, wait, you can't; you know why? Because you are a coward."
Brandon raised his fist, about to hit Derek, when Steeve stopped him.
" Enough, Brandon go home now"
" Hmph, if any harm comes at my daughter. I will have your head, Derek."
" By all means, now take your daughters with you today. I will pick a team tomorrow, so bring them back at 9 AM. Am I clear?"
Brandon walked away with his daughters. Others came to Derek and paid their respects by bowing to him. Derek then dismissed everyone and told them to come back tomorrow at 9 AM sharp.
Bella looked at Lucas as he walked past her.
" Let's go, baby dumpling; let's go to your mother."
