Chapter 13 - CHAPTER 13: ONE ON ONE

As soon as the 24 hours were completed, Mochi appeared out of nowhere. "Hope you are prepared, it is time for the next step in the training," Mochi said, it's voice echoing through the streets.

The sound of Mochi's voice woke everyone up, and they quickly got ready for the next training. They had no idea what to expect, but they knew it wouldn't be easy.

Mochi then explained the nature of the next training. "This training is a battle competition between everyone in this town," she said, a hint of excitement in its voice.

Before anyone could react, Mochi set a counter, and it started counting down. Everyone watched in anticipation as the counter reached zero. Suddenly, everything went black, and when the light returned, everyone found themselves in a massive arena.

The arena was enormous, with enough space to accommodate all the people from the town. The battleground was equally large, with various obstacles and terrain features. It was clear that this was going to be a battle for the ages.

Mochi appeared in the middle of the arena, it's presence commanding attention. "The rules are simple," she explained. "Each of you will be paired against another opponent, and you must win to progress. The winner of each match will earn points, and anyone with less than 50 points at the end of the competition will die permanently."

The atmosphere in the arena became tense, with everyone's faces set in determined expressions. They knew that this was a matter of life and death.

Asher, still trying to keep his true identity a secret, wondered why things had to be set up this way. Why did they have to fight each other? But he knew that he had no choice. He had to participate, no matter how he felt about it.

As he looked around, he realized that his name was the last one on the list. He would be fighting first. Asher's heart sank, but he knew that he had to be brave. He couldn't let his friends down.

The rules of the competition were simple. Each match would be a one-on-one battle, and the winner would earn points based on their opponent's rank. The ultimate goal was to become the strongest and face the king in a final battle.

Mochi called out the first contestants, and Asher's heart skipped a beat. He was paired against an S-rank opponent, someone he knew all too well. It was the school's number 3, a formidable fighter who Asher had clashed with before the disaster.

Asher knew that he had to keep his true identity hidden, so he quickly came up with a plan. He bought a set of clothing from the system, including a hood that would conceal his face. The clothing also had a purple smirky smile on the part that covered his mouth, which would help to disguise him.

Asher snuck away from Emily and Jake, changed into his new clothes, and made his way to the arena. He was ready to face his opponent, but he knew that it wouldn't be easy. The S-rank fighter was strong, and Asher would have to use all his skills to emerge victorious.

As he stepped into the arena, the crowd erupted into cheers. Asher's opponent was already waiting for him, a confident smirk on his face. Asher knew that he had to stay focused, to use his abilities to their fullest potential. The battle was about to begin, and only one of them would emerge victorious.

The crowd's cheers grew louder as Asher and his opponent faced off in the center of the arena. Mochi's voice echoed through the speakers, "Let the battle begin!"

Asher's opponent, the S-rank fighter, cracked his knuckles and sneered at Asher. "You think you can beat me, Lonedemon?" he taunted. "I've been waiting for this moment. You're going down!"

Asher remained silent, his eyes fixed intently on his opponent. He could feel the familiar surge of adrenaline coursing through his veins, but he knew he had to keep his cool. One mistake could cost him the match.

The S-rank fighter charged forward, his fists flying in a flurry of punches. Asher dodged and weaved, his agility allowing him to avoid the attacks with ease. But he knew he couldn't keep dodging forever. He needed to counterattack.

Asher waited for an opening, his eyes locked on his opponent's movements. Then, in a flash of insight, he saw his chance. The S-rank fighter had left himself open, his guard dropped for a split second.

Asher seized the opportunity, launching a swift kick that connected with a satisfying thud. The S-rank fighter stumbled backward, his eyes widening in surprise.

The crowd erupted into cheers, sensing that the tide of the battle was shifting. Asher pressed his advantage, unleashing a series of rapid-fire punches that sent his opponent stumbling.

But the S-rank fighter refused to give up. He countered with a powerful blast of energy with is exploding sword, sending Asher flying across the arena. Asher landed hard, his breath knocked out of him.

Asher got angry, then he asked the system, "System let me use the demon powers', but the system replied 'no', that it will be too dangerous, and it might get the god to look deeper into him.

Asher had to listen to the system for he knows that things won't go well if he discovers that the system he gave everyone in the town is not the system Asher as.

Asher became furious, and determination sparks within him saying, he has to defeat the number 3, but Asher was insure of his capabilities without using the demons powers.
