Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: The Shipment Revealed

As they approached the cargo ship, Duncan could feel his heart pounding in his chest. They had finally made it to the shipment, and he was determined to see it through.

"Alright, let's move," Kaidën whispered, his eyes scanning the area. "Ryker, can you hack into the ship's systems and disable any remaining security measures?"

Ryker nodded, his fingers flying across his console. "Already on it," he said.

Duncan watched as Ryker worked his magic, the ship's systems flickering and dying as he disabled them.

"Clear," Ryker said, looking up at Kaidën.

Kaidën nodded, drawing his sword. "Let's move," he said.

The team crept onto the ship, their eyes adjusting to the dim light. Duncan's bones led the way, scouting out the area and detecting any hidden dangers.

As they made their way deeper into the ship, Duncan could feel a strange energy emanating from the cargo hold. It was a pulsating, rhythmic energy that seemed to be calling to him.

"What's that?" Lyra whispered, her eyes locked onto the cargo hold.

Duncan's eyes narrowed. "I don't know," he said, "but I think we're about to find out."

Kaidën nodded, his sword at the ready. "Let's do this," he said.

The team burst into the cargo hold, their eyes scanning the area. And what they saw took their breath away.

The cargo hold was filled with row upon row of crates, each one stamped with Rectale's emblem. But it was what was inside the crates that shocked them.

Duncan's eyes widened as he saw the contents of the crates. They were filled with strange, glowing artifacts that pulsed with an otherworldly energy.

"What are these?" Lyra breathed, her eyes locked onto the artifacts.

Duncan's eyes narrowed. "I don't know," he said, "but I think they're the key to Rectale's plan."

Kaidën's eyes locked onto the artifacts, his face set in determination. "We need to get these out of here," he said. "Now."

But as they turned to leave, they were confronted by a figure they had not expected to see.

"Ah-ah, I don't think so," the figure said, a sly smile spreading across their face.

Duncan's eyes narrowed, his bones surging forward in anticipation.

"Who are you?" Kaidën growled, his sword at the ready.

The figure smiled, their eyes glinting with amusement.

"My name is Arachne," they said. "And I'm here to make sure that Rectale's plan comes to fruition."

Duncan's eyes widened, his mind racing with the implications.

Arachne was the one who had been working with Rectale all along. And now, she was standing in their way, determined to stop them from interfering with Rectale's plan.

The battle was about to begin.
