*Location: Jotunheim, Giant's Palace yards*
*Year: 3995 BCE*
*3rd POV*
Now five years old Loki was playing in the palace's yard, messing around with some of the local guard dogs. Large white fur wolves that while fierce against intruders were fiercely loyal to the palace guards, servants, and most of all the royal family. These beasts were far larger than the now tall boy, that could easily tower over a regular human.
Some rumors spread over Jotunheim, saying that these white wolves had descended from the first primordial wolf. Beasts that used to roam the nine realms after Ymir's death. Scavenging and devouring gany wayward giant that crossed their paths, soon enough though like humans and wolves they formed a partnership, helping one another survive this newly formed land.
Now one of the descendants was currently atop Loki licking his face like a puppy as two more crouched on the ground all three wagging their tails. Both parties were having the time of their life as Loki's father, the Jotun king Fárbauti, with a wide smile on his face and his arms crossed. On his back was a large bow and a quiver with a large amount of arrows.
On his side was a small well handaxe for a giant his size, but for a child of Loki's size it would be a good beginning weapon. As he made his way down the palace's steps, his foot was caught in a wire, or some manner of thin metallic line, tripping. With a look of shock and betrayal written on his face, he stared at Loki who had a large grin on his face as he got the wolf off him, watching his father fall to the ground.
He landed in the snow not moving as the queen of the Jotun, Laufey came out soon after wearing a beautiful green/white dress that had a leaf-like pattern. She looked down and carefully removed the piece of string that tripped Fárbauti, approaching him with the string in hand as Loki hid behind his wolf still smirking.
"Dear you know the kind of tricks Loki pulls why do you keep falling for them?" She said whilst putting her hand on her cheek, and closed eyes.
Whilst still in the snow the scrouge of the nine realms, the name who spread terror in god and man mumbled. "I thought the outside was safe, where did he even tie the string I thought we chopped all nearby trees down and burned the twigs."
Sighing Laufey pointed to two spears that were currently not in use that were on the side of the castle. "Well I think you need to lock the armory more often, we can't get rid of the spears after all."
A loud sigh could be heard from the king as he grabbed the small axe. "Well I didn't think he knew where it was this time, we changed the room location three times."
"I was also hoping he would pull back on the pranks during his Naming Day." His arm then slumped back to the ground as the two wolves Loki was paying attention to came over and sniffed, licking the old king.
"Do you want some help up?" Laufey offered as she leaned down offering her hand.
Fárbauti mumbled something as the wolves began running around him wanting the king to play with them. "I think I'm going to lay here for a minute let Loki have his moment before I punish him."
Sighing Laufey approached one of the wolves scratching his ears, almost immediately it began wagging its tail rapidly whilst panting. All the while Loki, began sneaking off behind the castle as the third dog went to Laufey for head scratches as well. Laufey noticing the boy nearly sighed as her husband began getting himself up with a sour look on his face.
This prompted Loki to quickly run on the side of the castle walls disappearing from sight as his father began looking around for him as he put the handaxe away.
"Loki you know the rules, you pull a prank I punch your forehead, and everyone in the castle including your mother agrees to this." He then began looking around the front yard alongside one of the wolves who was sniffing the ground.
As he searched Loki was busy running as far away from the castle as he could with the biggest shit-eating grin on his face. "Don't worry Dad, I'll top this prank soon enough don't worry!"
Soon enough he was far away from the castle, out of eyesight from the guards and servants. All the while Fárbauti began running around the castle both inside and out searching for him with a now more annoyed look on his face, and the three wolves behind him.
"Loki, I swear to Ymir if you don't show yourself soon I am tossing you into the deep woods for the night!" The king shouted at the top of his lungs shaking the castle walls.
All the while Loki ran far, into the wood's edge, and hid catching his breath after running for so long. He'd just sit there and laugh whilst his father screamed in the distance trying to find him alongside the guards now, or at least Loki assumed as he sat down and grabbed his small bag full of dark red berries.
He'd popped a few of the realm's local delicacies into his mouth, munching on the sweat berry with a sour tint. Whilst he happily munched away on his berries, the nearby bushes began rustling as a young giantess ran out of it, all the while looking over her shoulder as a giant-boarlke creature lunged out of it, unlike normal boars this beast had black fur with white stripes of fur on it.
alongside dark golden horns for tusk instead of the usual white from the usual Midgardian boars.
As it ran after the young giantess Loki's smile dropped as his body leaped up, a strange feeling coursing through his body. As he ran to tackle the boar, one single thought went through his mind. "Shit, Shit, Shit, why am I doing this, why am I doing this."
Of course, that wasn't the feeling going through him, while his giant heritage was always present and active, it was his aesir heritage that had yet to bloom. As he ran towards the boar, as his whole body began to shift and change.
Soon enough he now resembled a white bunny that was slightly larger than normal. With one jump Loki's whole body turned over as it kicked the boar in the side sending them down. This gave the giantess plenty of time to find a near bush to hide in as the boar got back up, more pissed off than before starring down the Loki now turned rabbit who was sweating on the inside.
Loki now thinking straight began running back to the castle as the boar now bursting with energy chased after the white rabbit.
In the castle yards, Fárbauti alongside the wolves, and some guards was looking for Loki and the king now had an understandable angry look on his face. "Loki, I sweat to Ymir if you don't show yourself it's double the punches!"
All the while a white rabbit was running towards him much to the confusion of the king and guards, but the wolves recognizing the scent barked out as a massive boar jumped out of the forest charging after it. The wolves charged toward the boar, but unlike what the three giants first thought instead of going for the rabbit or to try and kill the wolf, they began barking at the boar stopping it in its tracks.
While the giants were scratching their heads confused by what was going on, the white rabbit jumped towards Fárbauti's face slamming right into it. Before he had a chance to figure out why the rabbit jumped into his face, Loki spoke spooking the giants. "Hehehe, hi Dad..." He said with a light but nervous chuckle.
Feeling extremmly irritated by Loki's actions, well no one could blame the king for what he did next.
"LOKI!" His voice bellowed across the realm all the while one young giantess with dark brown hair began running back to her home, extremmly thankful to her savior.
Little did they both know, this giantess' name was Angrboða and these two meeting would help change the Norse world forever, and yet perhaps its greatest hope if one took the correct path.
Well only time would tell as Life sometimes takes a strange turn and their truly was no way to know all the tales of Loki.
