Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Talent and Profession

Rahul, who had been watching intently, was taken aback and swiftly assumed a defensive stance. He inquired with a sense of urgency while his voice stuttered, "Wh... who are you?"

In response to Rahul's question, the enigmatic figure simply smiled and retorted, "Haven't you recognized me yet?"

Rahul was momentarily befuddled by the statement, but soon realization dawned upon him, and he exclaimed firmly, "Don't jest with me."

The figure continued to wear a knowing smile and asked, "Haven't you found these memories strangely familiar?" Without allowing Rahul a moment to respond, the figure added, "I don't have much time," and fixed a sharp gaze upon Rahul as he took a step in his direction.

Rahul, fearfully, took a step back and stammered, "D-Don't come any closer," as everyone fears the unknown, and that was also happening with Rahul.

But the figure paid no heed, leaning in close to Rahul's ear and whispering, "You can deceive yourself, but you can't deny the sense of familiarity with these memories."

Stepping back and creating a slight distance, he added while spreading his arms, "Always remember to live life to the fullest," and then, pointing directly at Rahul, he added, "Don't live in regret, like I did, because I am you."

With that, the figure vanished, and a word entered Rahul's ear before the alternate realm shattered into pieces, "My memories... I left as an inheritance to you. Try to use them to the fullest," and the voice faded as the alternate realm shattered.

Rahul stood at the center of the circle, his fists clenched, and his eyes tightly closed.

No one noticed the rapid rise and fall of his breath or the tiny bead of sweat that formed on his forehead.

Then, a voice entered his ear, and his eye twitched open abruptly. He turned his head, glancing in every direction, his mind racing.

He shook his head. "What was that? It felt like hours, but only a moment has passed. Can it all be true?" He sighed while looking out the window, his thoughts a jumble. "What is happening to me?"

Rahul decided not to dwell on the experience. It all felt so magical, making it natural to doubt its reality.

Instead, he chose to focus on the present, treating it as a side effect. With these thoughts in mind, his attention turned to the small machine, where it was written:

[Name: Rahul Singhania]

[Profession: Necromancer [S]]

[Talent: Copy [SSS]]

A smile crept onto his face. Whether it was true or not, with this talent and profession, he had the qualifications to overcome any obstacle.

Previously, he had worried that if he failed to awaken a high-grade talent and profession, what would happen to him? Would he be able to handle the load of business and the butler's expectations, which were suffocating him?

Now, a big boulder had been lifted from his shoulders, and a relieved sigh escaped his mouth. No matter what the future held, Rahul was determined to pass the hurdles with his profession and talent.

You see, every student who awakened their talent and pursued their profession would be rewarded with the World System. It was said that this World System was formed with the consciousness of the world, but was that really the truth?

Rahul didn't know, as he had come across these details in The Evolution of Humans book, which was a mandatory read in school.

Later, it was even turned into a separate subject, but now he chose to overlook history and decided to focus on the present that was presented to him.

Soon, his thoughts were interrupted.

"Young master, did you check the panel?" the man asked with a thick smile on his face.

Rahul's thoughts came to reality, and soon, timely, a prompt rang in his mind, and a panel began to materialize before his eyes. There was no surprise in his expression, as he had expected this.

"It did come. Let me check," Rahul announced, and his eyes peered into the panel.

Upon seeing the panel, Rahul wasn't just shocked; he was shocked to the core. He turned his head back toward the awakening device, where he noticed that the profession and talent grade didn't match each other. The talent was marked as 'SSS' grade. However, on the panel, it displayed 'EX' grade with an incomplete statement. Meanwhile, the panel showed Creator as the Main Profession, but in the awakening device, it showed Necromancer.

"Everything is messed up!" Rahul screamed internally, unsure of how to narrate this situation to the butler. But soon, his eyes flickered as he remembered the situation that unfolded when he awakened his talent.

"No. Not now, not until I get the gist of the matter."

He glanced around his surroundings and saw that the butler and the federation man were happily conversing while the maids were busy clearing the hall.

Rahul found himself utterly perplexed; the concept of an 'EX' grade was entirely foreign to him. It hadn't surfaced in any news he'd come across.

As far as he knew, the pinnacle was 'SSS' grade, with whispers of grades beyond, yet unattainable to anyone thus far. His confusion stemmed from the uncertainty—was 'EX' superior to 'SSS' or inferior to 'F'?

What compounded the confusion further was that he had already unlocked a sub-profession typically accessible at the C rank. Even more confounding was the mismatch between the panel's grade and the awakening device's grade. Everything seemed awry and out of alignment.

As Rahul pondered these perplexing events, the butler already stood before him with a smiling face.

"How's it?"
