Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: A CHILD THAT WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE

The night was heavy with a storm that wasn't natural. Thunder roared across the sky, and the wind howled like a chorus of wailing spirits. Deep in the heart of a secluded mountain fortress, Luna Aurelia Drago lay on a bed soaked with sweat, her body wracked with pain. She was in labor.

Viktor Kane Drago, her mate, knelt beside her, gripping her hand tightly. His crimson eyes burned with determination, but his face betrayed his fear. This was no ordinary childbirth. Their son—Kristof Kane Drago—was destined to change everything. A hybrid. A future Alpha of both vampires and werewolves. A being that was never meant to exist.

And outside, the darkness had come for him.

The Gathering of Shadows

On the edge of the fortress, three figures stood beneath the storm, their cloaks billowing in the unnatural wind.

"We must stop this before it's too late," whispered a hooded man, his voice like a serpent's hiss. He was Varian, the leader of The Silent Circle, a cult of ancient sorcerers sworn to preserve the balance of power.

Beside him, a massive, silver-eyed werewolf bared his fangs. Tobias Blackfang, Alpha of The Howling Order, growled. "If this child takes his first breath, the packs will fall to his rule. We cannot allow that."

The third figure, a pale woman draped in black lace, chuckled darkly. Selene of The Shadow Coven, a vampire elder who had walked the earth for centuries, smirked. "Balance? No. This is about power. If that child lives, none of us will have control."

The three leaders turned their gazes toward the fortress, where screams of pain echoed through the stone walls. The time had come.

With a silent command, the armies of darkness moved.

The Battle for Kristof's Life

The fortress gates shattered as waves of werewolves, cloaked sorcerers, and vampire assassins flooded in. The defenders—Viktor's loyal warriors and Luna's strongest pack members—met them head-on. The battle was instant and brutal.

Kroger Thames, Viktor's oldest friend and battle brother, tore through the enemy ranks, his twin blades gleaming under the blood-red moon. "Hold the line!" he roared as he decapitated a sorcerer mid-chant.

Beside him, Stefan Salvatore Drago, Viktor's younger brother, fought like a demon. His fangs dripped with blood as he ripped apart enemy vampires with ruthless efficiency. "We won't let them touch the child!"

But the dark forces were relentless.

Inside the fortress, Luna screamed as she pushed, her nails digging into Viktor's arm. The pain was unbearable, but she wouldn't stop. She couldn't stop. Her son had to be born.

"Just a little longer, my love," Viktor whispered, his voice filled with desperation.

Then, a deafening boom shook the fortress.

The enemy had broken through.

A Father's Wrath, A Mother's Strength

Varian entered first, his magic crackling in the air as he prepared to strike. But Viktor was faster. He lunged, claws extended, and drove them through the sorcerer's chest. Varian gasped, blood spilling from his lips, but before he could react, Viktor twisted and tore out his heart.

Tobias Blackfang and Selene appeared next, their forces behind them.

"You're too late," Luna panted, her golden eyes glowing.

A baby's cry pierced the chaos.

Kristof Kane Drago had entered the world.

Selene screeched in rage, lunging for the newborn. But Stefan was there, intercepting her with a blade to her throat. "You'll never touch him!" he snarled.

Tobias roared and charged. Kroger stepped in his path, fighting with everything he had. But Tobias was stronger. With one mighty swipe, he tore through Kroger's chest. The loyal warrior gasped, blood spilling from his mouth as he fell.

"Kroger!" Viktor roared.

But there was no time to grieve. Stefan, still battling Selene, was struck from behind by a dark spell. His body convulsed, his strength fading.

"Brother!" Viktor rushed toward him, but Stefan managed a weak smile. "Protect him," he whispered before Selene drove a dagger through his heart.

Rage unlike anything Viktor had ever known consumed him. With a furious roar, he unleashed his full power. Lightning split the sky as he tore through the remaining enemies with reckless fury.

Luna, cradling Kristof, began chanting an ancient spell. A portal opened—a gateway to a faraway place where their son would be safe. "We have to leave!" she screamed.

Viktor hesitated, looking back at the bodies of his brother and best friend. But he had no choice. He grabbed Luna and Kristof, and they stepped through the portal.

As the fortress collapsed behind them, the dark forces screamed in frustration. They had failed.

But Selene, wounded yet alive, watched the portal close with a twisted smile. "This isn't over," she whispered.

The Beginning of the Legend

Far away, in a quiet town called Strawton, a baby's cries filled the night. Luna and Viktor, now Andrew and Layla Tommy, held their son tightly.

They had lost so much. But they had won the battle.

For now.

Kristof Kane Drago had survived.

And one day, he would rise.
