Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 — Cross-Server Chat

Bea stared in confusion at the bean that Sun Wuming handed her.

What... what does this mean?

Just one bean - it's not even enough to get stuck between your teeth, right?

But considering it was something given by the master...

Bea couldn't bring herself to refuse. After saying "Thank you, Master," she took the bean, chewed it a couple times, and swallowed it with a gulp.

However, just seconds after swallowing, the hunger in her stomach instantly vanished - she even felt a bit full.

The intense fatigue and soreness that had been flowing through her limbs also disappeared without a trace at that moment.

"This... this is!?"

Bea looked at her body in disbelief.

The pain was completely gone!

Sun Wuming paid no more attention to the girl, casually picked up a piece of wood to use as a pillow behind his head, and said with a yawn:

"Alright, now that you've eaten, hurry home, yawn~"

"Woo!"

The bear disciple crawled over, snuggled against Sun Wuming's pant leg, and found a comfortable spot to lie down too.

Having recovered from her shock, Bea looked stubbornly at Sun Wuming, who was pretending to doze off. Clenching her fists, she muttered to herself:

"I won't leave until you accept me as your disciple!"

After all, there were two dojos in Suichuan Town, and she had already requested extended leave from the Galar Pokémon League.

She absolutely wouldn't give up easily!

Hearing movement nearby, Sun Wuming opened one eye to peek and found the girl curled up about three meters away from him, hands clasped together against her cheek, fast asleep.

This girl really has no sense of caution - aren't you worried I might do something inappropriate to you?

...

Early the next morning.

"Huff... huff... huff..."

With legs long since gone numb, Bea followed behind Sun Wuming purely through sheer willpower, gritting her teeth.

How many laps had she run around the island with him?

Dozens?

No?

Or was it hundreds?

But no matter how many, whenever her vision started to blur and she felt like she would pass out,

She would somehow find that last bit of determination to keep Sun Wuming's back from disappearing from her sight.

What Bea didn't know was that Sun Wuming had actually increased his weight equipment from 300kg to 500kg just so she could barely keep up with his pace.

That's why he was running so slowly.

Thud!

Finally, Bea couldn't hold on any longer and collapsed hard onto her knees.

If other Galar gym leaders saw this scene, they would be completely baffled.

Girl, weren't you here to train Pokémon?

What's the point of just training by yourself!?

...

When Bea opened her eyes again, she found it was already evening.

The warmth from the nearby campfire felt comforting. She turned to look.

By the fire was a huge fish being grilled, as big as a Gyarados, while Sun Wuming and his bear disciple sat on the other side of the fire, feasting away.

"Still don't want to go home?"

Sun Wuming asked Bea after swallowing a mouthful of fish.

Bea bowed solemnly to Sun Wuming and said:

"Master, I want to become stronger!"

This girl is like super glue - impossible to shake off!

Just then, an unfamiliar male voice called out:

"Oh? Bea , what are you doing here?"

Sun Wuming and Bea both looked over.

They saw a handsome young man about 20 years old approaching, with long dark blue hair and a goatee.

"Leon?!"

Bea called out his name with apprehension.

She had suffered a crushing defeat to this man at last year's Galar Star Tournament.

Sun Wuming narrowed his eyes.

Another man he hadn't seen in the original story.

"I was sent here by Chairman Rose to investigate."

Leon explained with a bright smile: "Didn't a powerful shockwave appear here a couple days ago that dispersed the rain? According to the League's investigation, we believe only a Legendary Pokémon could have done something like that."

After speaking, Leon noticed Sun Wuming beside Bea and nodded in greeting:

"Hello, I'm Leon."

"Ah... Sun Wuming."

Hearing the other's self-introduction, Sun Wuming decided in his heart that this guy was just an extra character, seeming extremely weak.

"Caidou, is he your friend?" Leon asked curiously.

"No, he's my master." Bea said somewhat proudly.

"I never agreed to take you as my disciple." Sun Wuming mercilessly burst her bubble.

Master?

Leon was surprised.

While Bea might not be a genius, she had reached the level of Elite Four candidate at such a young age - that was certainly impressive.

For her to want to become someone's disciple, they would have to be a trainer close to Champion level, right?

Thinking of this, Leon couldn't help but get excited.

His favorite thing was challenging strong opponents!

"Would you have a battle with me, Mr. Sun?"

Leon asked enthusiastically.

"You?"

Sun Wuming raised an eyebrow, "You don't look very strong~"

Bea was shocked - was Master really this bold?

Leon was recognized as one of the top Champions across the Pokémon continent!

Leon's expression also changed slightly - no one had ever spoken to him like this since he was born.

However, the two were completely talking past each other.

Leon and Bea were talking about Pokémon battles.

While Sun Wuming thought they meant direct human combat.

Though Leon had a pretty good temper - if it were Lance, he would have called out his Dragonite to finish you right there.

"Mr. Sun, I'm quite confident in my abilities, please don't worry."

Leon managed a smile.

Sun Wuming squinted at him, assessing both his physical condition and sensing his qi.

This guy with the goatee was undeniably weak no matter how you looked at it.

Perhaps he knew some special technique?

But since the other party kept challenging him, there was no need to be polite.

"Fine, but don't blame me if you end up dead."

Sun Wuming stood up.

"You seem very confident, Mr. Sun. Please, make your move."

Bea stared in confusion at the bean that Sun Wuming handed her.
