Lawa knows himself, and he knows his capabilities, he surely knows he can't scheme like they do.
He wasn't as smart as them and won't pretend he is.
The Prophets were sucking the clan dry, and if he entered into the picture, he would have to plan and provide valuable information or knowledge or anything of the sort for him to even get a sliver of what the rest were gaining.
The worst part was he can't even cultivate now.
His mind was too broken to even withstand that strenuous process.
"I'm sorry Sada, but I'm not as useful as the rest!"
Laws said to himself. He preferred honesty over lies.
He was brooding like that when his friends came. Aanu, Luna and Sani.
Lawa sprang up and hugged Aanu, the boy was stunned.
The truth was they weren't the best of friends, heck, they were always at each other's neck due to their polar opposite personalities.
Aanu was serious, and always at school; he was an ideal student that every teacher loved and wanted.
Lawa was the opposite, just a lazy brat who was forced to go to school.
For that reason, teachers often sent Aanu to Lawa to deliver warnings or to advise him to be more serious.
Luna was older than them all and always acted like a big sister.
Sani was Aanu's brother from another mother, so they were very close.
"Okay, so it's true you are sick. Your body is hot. Okay, the hug is enough. Hey, do you want to infect me with your disease!" Aanu managed to escape.
"I miss you, why?" Lawa said emotionally.
"Oh," Aanu moved and nodded, "I miss you too. Are you all right? You are acting strange!"
"Hey, we are here!" Sani waved his hand. Seeing they were left as decoration.
It was calming to Lawa to see them very much alive.
After the greetings, there were moments of awkwardness as they only chatted for some time before he became silent.
"Here, the calculation teacher said you should solve it before you come back to school!" Aanu threw a Scribe Table the size of a palm.
The Scribe Tablet was a stone capable of storing writings and information.
Lawa held it and the stream of information reached his mind.
He smiled softly as he felt the Rena of Professor Jon, their calculation, it meant he was still alive.
The man was annoyed by Lawa the most.
"Strange, you didn't throw tantrums about the assignment!" Aanu was surprised.
Lawa only smiled softly at them.
"Hey, Luna, is it true that Larai reached the limit of the Body Stage and is now about to reach the Echos Stage!"
Linu was grandmother to Larai, which is why the question was directed at her.
"Yes, it's true." Luna's shoulder slumped down with a sigh.
"She suddenly wakes up with enlightenment, and before I know it, she has reached the body stage. She doesn't even look my way now."
"Ha, you shouldn't have scolded her in the past?" Sani said.
"I found it hard to believe. The only way for someone to have a leap of strength is if they take the rumoured Miracle Elixir, and nothing should have aided her like that. Not even the Chief Miracle Stone can do that!"
Aanu, the academic genius, said.
Each Miracle Resource has a certain effect they can do. In terms of cultivation Miracle Stone won't accelerate you but can only stabilize it.
Lawa was jolted hearing Miracle Elixir; he looked at Aanu; this guy had just given him an idea.
He immediately gave him an unexpected hug while Aanu was pushing him away complaining.
"What's wrong with you man? Ugh. You stink!" Aanu shouted.
Lawa threw a Scribe Tablet to him and said, "I have solved it."
"You did?" Aanu checked, "you did!"
Lawa was lazy, not stupid; he had his own talent, but his attitude was what was holding him back.
"Well, we should be leaving. Safe recovery!" Luna said.
They stood and left leaving behind small talks and hidden insults.
Lawa walked to the bathroom and entered a shower. His body has digested the Rain he has and his body has sweated a lot.
Under the water falling, he thought.
'With Miracle Elixir I can recover my mind and even cultivate at a faster rate.' He smiled as the worry and weight he was having began to abet.
"I may not know where I can get fortune encounter within the clan's hallowed ground but the outside world is something I have scoured"
Lawa looked at the source of the shower and smiled, it was a geyser from a carefully cracked wall.
"I'm not useless after all. I have my things too. The problem is, I can't get to them easily."
Weish Clan were travellers; they never had a single settlement. Their entire life as far as Lawa knows, they were always on the move, going to many regions, sending Scouts and Hounds to look around.
Lawa has been a Scout for 21 years and he has gained a great deal of knowledge around the world.
Weish Clan amassed great treasures and wealth by doing so and also became stronger by the day.
Now, if he plays his cards right, he may get a bite of some of the things the Weish Clan will obtain in the future.
"Hooo!" Lawa took a deep breath and said, "I know where to get Miracle Elixir, Oro Metal, Black Jade, Pure Kata, Ancestral Domestic Beast, Ancient Wood Craftwork, Ancient Stone Craftwork…"
As he listed those things, he felt a pang of confidence in his heart and he smiled more.
"I know how to create a Craftwork, I have a Ship Blueprint, I know where Myriad Mountain Land is and how one can pass the miasma. Haha, I know a lot of things but what can I get exactly"
That was a massive problem.
Lawa has reached the Full Amber Stage, and within the next four months, he will have undergone his cultivation ceremony with the rest of his class at Maroon Stone Academy.
But now, due to his mind, his Brain Amber has destabilized, his confidence and ego shaken, which makes him ineligible for continuous cultivation.
"We can employ True Master's service!" Lawa said to himself but then he shook his head.
Even the other Prophet first gains the benefits before they share it with others and that is how they got other True Masters to help them.
And this was within the Clan, where there was order and rules.
If he were to tell someone where the Elixir can be found, the one that obtains it may not even give it to him.
The main problem was that each of the things he thought he could get had a lot of variables that would lead him to lose them all.
The more he thought about it, the more Lawa realized he may never get them.
Suddenly, his body trembled; for some reason, it was a feeling of Miracle Stone Harvest.
He ran out, wore his clothes and ran outside looking around. He followed his instinct in a daze and came to an opening; a mild stench of blood hit him and he looked like a drop of blood.
It's the only sign that something has been down here.
Lawa realized his stupidity and ran back home and hid. The moment Sada returned, he dragged the man to his room and told him.
"Someone, maybe among the prophet, is using a forbidden ritual to create a Miracle Stone. If it's not them then the Weish Clan has a spy among the Prophets that is doing it for them!"
The reason he believed it was one of the Prophets was that only they would know; for now, the Weish Clan hasn't learned how to do it.
"I know. It's bad, no. Very dangerous. The Clan is in upheaval. No one saw you right?"
Sada said he, too, had come back in a daze because he saw another body was delivered to True Master Brass.
"No one saw me!"
Sada relaxed in relief and continued to say,
"Seven people have been killed and the Prophets are indeed the prime success. There is intense investigation going on."
Lawa nodded as he calmed down; if the clan had taken action, then he didn't have to worry much.
"Who are the victims?" Lawa asked.
"Full Amber. The culprit may not have the ability to face Body Stage without causing commotions."
That night True Masters came and interrogated Lawa about his whereabouts and what he had been doing.
Though the True Masters didn't reveal the murder and the harvest, Lawa knew that was the reason.
The moment they left, Lawa calmed down and began to think hard.
"How can I get what I want?"
He grabbed a Scribe Tablet and wrote in it, and gradually began to go through his options.
Lawa could feel his sanity was slipping; he would soon reach the point of no return, especially now that Miracle Stones were being harvested again.
The situation was striking his mental stability and he was recalling the nightmare vividly again.
After some brooding, Lawa came out and dragged his sister around the settlements. She didn't know why but followed him.
He took her with him because he was afraid he might be a target next, and she was at Body Stage and strong enough to deter anyone as long as they weren't True Master.
After hours, they returned home, and he ran upstairs.
"Strange!" She muttered but let it slide, as long as Lawa was happy, she was fine.
Back in his room, Lawa stood at the centre thinking, his body shaking in both fear and expectation.
His object of fear was that he found over 189 Miracle Stones all over the settlement and he began to think that the clan had been killing its people to create the Miracle Stone.
Lawa sat down; he didn't believe this assumption because to them, Clansmen were all blood relatives, and the most taboo thing to do was kill them.
"Maybe criminals with the death sentence!" Lawa thought.
