Chereads / I Finally Completed The Game After 45.000 Hours / Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - The very familiar world

Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - The very familiar world

He opened his eyes, "Am I still alive?" he was confused. Why would he be alive? No matter how, but surviving a fall from the 12th floor is impossible.

He was lying in a grass field. He was looking at the sky. It seemed... familiar, a strong sense of deja vu assaulted his mind.

He sat up, nothing more familiar could have fallen into his view, he had, in fact, seen this view so many times he even dreamed about it.

A tall mountain with a cave in the middle. Next to the cave was a sign, however instead of showing the simple controls, it was showing something else.

"Welcome, player Zero" he read it out loud, "you, who has completed the game, have been chosen. Good luck." chosen for what? he thought.

But did it really matter? His wish had been granted, he didn't have to figure out what he would do after he completed the game, since he now was inside the game!

His eyes lit up, he felt happiness, an emotion he didn't feel in years. But that didn't last long.

So what should I do? Is there anything left to do? He didn't understand, he already 100%'ed the game, what was there left to do?

He looked into the dark cave, he already knew every little rock in that cave. He let out a heavy sigh and walked towards the cave.

As he approached the cave he was completely sure that he had been sucked into 'Star Dust', the cave was identical to the one he has seen tens of thousands of times.

As he went into the cave he saw a big hole he couldn't see the bottom of, however of course he knew what was at the bottom, he wouldn't jump down just yet.

He left the cave and wandered off. He still remembers how many times he died down there when he only started out. You couldn't just jump down, since you'll die nearly instantly.

This walk took him nearly 10 minutes. He approached a forest with very tall trees he couldn't even see the crown of. If he didn't know this places every single tree, he would easily have been lost in this broad forest.

At some point he saw a light fog, the deeper in he went the denser the fog. Soon he arrived, a little house right at the center of the forest.

This is one of the only places you can go to without fighting any monsters, this, of course, didn't mean there were none. It just meant you could avoid all of them.

He broke the window and went in. The door is the boss spawn trigger, so as long as you don't open it the boss won't spawn, he said in his mind.

There were 3 basic weapons on the wall - a sword, a wand, and a bow. Sadly, these were only basic weapons and didn't interest Zero in any way.

He went to the bookshelf and took out a book - it was a grimoire. As soon as he picked it up his mana got depleted in an instant, he turned pale but didn't show any other signs.

In the floor appeared a trapdoor, which lead to the basement of this house. This is what Zero was looking for.

He went down into the basement and saw more weapons hung on the slimy stone walls - Clubs, claws, knives, different types of swords, spears and in the middle of the room on a pedestal was a very special sword, a Katana.

However Zero looked past it, he didn't even spare a glance at the Katana. This Katana is a cursed item that you cannot change out for another weapon later into the run.

The Katana was powerful, powerful enough to kill the final boss, but it was insufficient for further progression.

Zero walked past it to the other end of the room, he stood in front of a wall. Behind this wall is another weapon, the strongest early weapon you could get, and also his favorite one.

He took out the grimoire once again, the condition for the wall to dissappear is that someone has to open the door to the hut, summoning the boss monster.

Zero being completely unarmed would not be able to survive an encounter with the boss, and taking any of the weapons inside the hut would result in the wall being sealed off.

That being said, his mana has already fully regenerated. Once again the grimoire sucked his mana dry, and the door was opened. This summoned the boss and opened the wall he was standing in front.

A tiny room fell into Zeros view, inside of which was only 1 weapon, a green scythe with a slight faint glow. He reached out and the scythe, as if sensing its long awaited master has arrived, flew right into his hand.

The boss that had just been summoned flew into a rage, and broke into the basement. It stared at Zero with its glowing blood-red eyes, it noticed how Zero was holding the scythe.

Zero didn't show any particular reaction since he knew this would happen, however he was on guard. He was a Lvl. 1 with a slightly stronger weapon, this game isn't easy even if you know everything.

The boss was a humanoid beast the size of a human, however it had white fur and looked like a monkey. It roared out in rage, how could it just let a human take away its most loved artifact?

The boss monster was in fact only level 10, this is a starter zone after all. But Zero taking the scythe made the boss monster go berserk, which boosted its strength to be equal to a lvl 20 monster.

Zero held the scythe tightly. As a nobody that never did anything but sit in front of a screen his entire life, he was naturally bad at any combat related skills, or physical ability in general, however since he was transported to the 'Star Dust' world, he had learned how to use mana and how to fight. His physical abilities were also brought up to standard, so he was able to fight this boss monster.

The boss monster made the first move, dashed towards Zero stretching out its hand, using its claws as a weapon.

Zero dashed to the side and cut the monsters hand with the long scythe. The monster was furious, it cried out and dashed towards Zero again.

However that bore no result other than it being cut once again. The monster took one of the swords from the wall, this was its second phase.

This time Zero took the initiative, the second phase was the most dangerous one. The monster still had lots of strength left and was now armed.

Zero tried to slash the monsters chest, but the monster blocked the strike with its newly acquired sword. The monster retaliated almost instantly using a sword skill [Thunder Slash]!

However Zero was prepared and managed to block the strike with the scythe. The scythes special ability was spell nullification, that's what made it the strongest weapon at the beginning! Magical attacks were completely useless as long as Zero could directly block them with the scythe.

Using the second of the monsters confusion, Zero struck at its neck. Zero killed the boss monster skipping the 3rd phase directly. The third phase would be troublesome because the monster would have picked up the Katana.
