One day in the morning Yuan woke up with a sudden start, his mind still foggy from the remnants a dream. He glanced up, noticing the shimmering system screen hovering in the air before him. He saw the numbers counting down.
[Remaining time: 10 minutes.]
His eyes widened. " It's time huh"
Yuan sat still for a moment, staring at the screen, the weight of the reality sinking in. He had spent 10 long years in this world, training, battling spirits, and growing stronger. He had formed bonds with Bai Zhi, and though they had their differences, there was no doubt in Yuan's mind that Bai Zhi had been a good teacher. He had become a mentor, a guiding figure. The life in this world felt real to him now, a part of him.
But now, it was time to leave. The screen was a constant reminder that his time in this world was nearing its end. It felt strange to think that his journey in this world was over, but the truth was inescapable. Yuan couldn't help but feel a tinge of regret, but also curiosity. What would happen once the timer reached zero? Would he be returned to his original life as Jin Kyoto without any memory of this world? Would he return as the same person, or would everything he had done in this world fade like a dream?
The countdown on the screen continued, the seconds ticking away, each one heavier than the last. Yuan's thoughts drifted back to the battles, the techniques he had learned, the struggles he had faced. His growth had been monumental, but now, in his final moments here, he couldn't help but feel a sense of loss.
As the final moments passed, the screen blinked, and just as he expected, the timer hit zero. The world around him flickered.
Everything went dark.
When Jin Kyoto opened his eyes, the first thing he noticed was the unfamiliar, almost suffocating sense of coldness. His head felt heavy, and a strange sense of vertigo washed over him. He blinked rapidly, trying to adjust to the sudden change, only to find himself standing in a completely different place. The familiar warm sunlight and incense of the Ying Dynasty were gone. He was back in his original world.
Jin's breath caught in his throat. The room around him was cold, dimly lit by a flickering light. He was back in his house, but everything felt wrong. The air was thick with an eerie presence. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a figure.
A woman.
Her black hair flowed around her like tendrils of darkness, her eyes empty, yet full of an unnatural fury. Her form was translucent, her ghostly presence unmistakable.
Jin's instincts kicked in.
It was a ghost.
Without wasting a second, Jin's hand shot out, and instinctively, he summoned ☯ Spirit Cloak☯ . It flowed effortlessly, responding to his command, and for the first time since returning, he felt truly alive—alive with power.
The ghost screeched as it lunged toward him, its hands reaching out with a terrifying, twisted hunger. But Jin was faster.
With a focused surge of power, Jin raised his arm, the spirit energy gathering at his hand. The Spirit Cloak condensed into a sharp point, forming a spear of cyan energy. He charged forward, closing the distance between them in the blink of an eye, and with a swift motion, he drove the spirit-infused weapon into the ghost's chest.
The ghost's wail pierced the air, but it was no match for the overwhelming power of the Spirit Cloak. Jin's energy tore through the specter's form, and with a final, violent shudder, the ghost disintegrated, vanishing into nothingness.
The room fell silent once again.
Jin stood there for a moment and use ☯Spirit Demolition☯ to absorb the spirit energy from the ghost. The ghost was gone. He was back in his world. The world of Jin Kyoto.
He turned to look at his surroundings once again, taking in the familiar yet distant view of his home. It was as if the past 10 years had never happened—or at least, it felt that way for a brief moment.
But deep down, he knew he had changed. The person who had once been Jin Kyoto, an actor, had now been shaped by the experiences in that other world. He had fought, grown stronger, and learned things he never thought possible.
Jin took a deep breath, steadying himself. " Welcome back myself, I guess."
