Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Secrets Unveiled

Xian Zhen stood in the shadowed alley, the ancient scroll he had just obtained from the Night Owl still clutched tightly in his hands. The wind howled through the narrow streets, carrying with it the scent of dust and danger. His heart pounded as he unraveled the mysteries within the scroll.

The secrets of the Shadow Sect were far darker than he had imagined. Every word, every symbol seemed to pulse with dark energy, a testament to the depth of the Sect's power and its ruthless plans.

Xian's eyes glowed as he read, absorbing the information. His grip tightened on the scroll. The Shadow Sect wasn't just a criminal organization—it was a network of corruption, assassins, spies, and dark magic that spanned across the continents, hiding in plain sight. They controlled everything from underground fighting rings to high-ranking officials. And they had their hands in far more than just the martial world—they had their eyes on the entire universe.

Lei Shang stood beside him, his face grim as he watched Xian's growing anger. "What did you find?"

Xian's voice was cold. "The Shadow Sect is everywhere. They control everything—every kingdom, every city. And they've been planning to bring the world under their control. They have… plans for the entire universe."

Feng Yu crossed her arms. "We've always known they were dangerous, but this is worse than we thought."

Xian's lips curled into a cruel smile. "They don't know who they're dealing with." He turned to Lei Shang. "Prepare the Beast Summoning. We're going to start hunting."

Lei Shang raised an eyebrow. "You want to go after the Shadow Sect now? It's not going to be easy."

Xian's expression darkened. "They've been hiding in the shadows for far too long. It's time to bring them into the light."

The First Strike

That night, Xian Zhen and his companions set off toward the First Sect Branch in the City of Eternal Night. This was the place where the Shadow Sect had operated its darkest dealings, and it was time for Xian to make his mark.

The streets were empty as they moved through the city, silent and unnoticed. The only sounds were the distant echoes of footsteps and the occasional rustle of leaves in the wind.

Xian stopped in front of a large building, its doors made of thick iron. "This is it," he whispered. "Inside, we'll find the heart of the Sect's power here."

Jiang Hu grinned. "Time to get some answers."

The group entered, their footsteps barely making a sound as they moved through the darkened halls. The place was quiet—too quiet. They could feel the danger in the air.

Suddenly, a voice echoed from the shadows. "You think you can just waltz in here and defeat the Shadow Sect?"

Xian's eyes flickered with recognition. "I'm not here for a fight. I'm here for answers."

From the shadows, a figure emerged—clad in black robes, his face hidden by a mask. It was clear from the energy he radiated that this man was a leader of the Sect.

He laughed softly. "You'll find no answers here, Xian Zhen. Only your end."

Before Xian could react, the man launched forward, his dark energy forming into a blade of pure black. "You're not the only one with power."

Xian's eyes glowed with white energy as he raised his hand, a wall of white light forming in front of him to block the attack. The two powers collided with a thunderous shockwave, causing the walls of the building to tremble.

The leader smirked. "You think you can challenge me with your weak powers?"

Xian's expression remained unfazed. "Weak? I'm just getting started."

With a flick of his wrist, Xian's black and white energy surged forward, creating blinding shockwaves that shattered the man's attack. "Let's see how long you last."

The two powers clashed once more—black versus white—creating a storm of energy in the room.

The Truth Revealed

The battle between Xian and the leader of the Shadow Sect was fierce, but Xian was relentless. With each strike, he broke through the leader's defenses, his power growing stronger.

Finally, with a single slash, Xian unleashed a wave of energy that sent the leader flying back, his mask shattering.

The man landed with a heavy thud, blood dripping from his wounds. His eyes burned with fury, but there was also a flicker of recognition. "You're not… you're not human…"

Xian stepped forward, his presence overwhelming. "No. I'm far more than human."

The man coughed, spitting out blood. "The Shadow Sect… is everywhere. You can't stop us."

Xian's expression grew colder. "We'll see about that."

He stepped forward, raising his hand, ready to deliver the final blow. But before he could strike, the man spoke again. "The Sect's plans… the true power… it's not here."

Xian paused. "What do you mean?"

The man's gaze faltered, and his lips curled into a twisted smile. "You think you've won? The true power of the Shadow Sect lies beyond the city. In a place… you will never reach."

Xian narrowed his eyes. "Tell me!"

But before the leader could answer, his body began to disintegrate into dust, leaving behind only a faint whisper.

"The true power… is in the Secret Realm of the Fallen Moon."

Xian's eyes widened. "The Secret Realm of the Fallen Moon?"

The room fell silent. There was only one way to uncover the secrets of the Shadow Sect now—the Secret Realm.

Xian turned to his companions. "Prepare yourselves. We're going after the Secret Realm of the Fallen Moon."

The Path Forward

With the leader of the Shadow Sect gone, Xian and his group left the city, their destination now set. The Secret Realm of the Fallen Moon was said to be a place of unimaginable danger, hidden deep within the Dark Forest on the Edge of the Known World.

But Xian was no stranger to danger.

He was ready for whatever challenges lay ahead.

As they traveled toward their next destination, the weight of the truth pressed down on him. The Shadow Sect was far more dangerous than he had ever realized. But now, with the leader's death, they had only one path forward: the Secret Realm.

And Xian would stop at nothing to uncover its secrets.
