Chereads / The Calamity of Eryndor / Chapter 26 - 26. First key

Chapter 26 - 26. First key

Eryndor rushed back to the motel with Krog, who had been bleeding from a severe leg wound for a while. Krog's face had turned pale, and he was sweating profusely. The chain armor he wore had likely saved his life, but he was still in dire need of medical attention.

As they arrived at the motel, manager Lyrien and maid Fianna rushed to the doorstep, concern etched on their faces. Eryndor, exhausted from the fight, was carrying Krog on his shoulder. He asked Lyrien to fetch a healer, and Lyrien quickly instructed Fianna to support Krog and take him to his room while he went to find a healer.

As Fianna and Eryndor helped Krog to his room, Lyrien hurried out to find a healer. However, he was suddenly stopped by Vylonia, the Demoness. Lyrien was taken aback by her sudden appearance and asked what she wanted. Vylonia offered to be the healer, which caught Lyrien off guard. He was wary of her intentions and wondered what she was plotting.

Vylonia, annoyed by Lyrien's lack of response, prompted him to agree. Lyrien, still cautious, pointed out that while Vylonia's powers as a Demoness could heal Krog quickly, her intimidating appearance might scare him to death. Vylonia considered Lyrien's words and decided to change her appearance. She transformed into a beautiful dark elf, hiding her demonic features.

Lyrien took the disguised Vylonia, now calling herself Elara, to Krog's room. Fianna was shocked to see her, recognizing the Demoness despite her new appearance. Elara introduced herself to Eryndor and Krog as a healer, and Eryndor, worried about Krog's condition, unconsciously took her hands and begged her to heal his friend.

Elara began to heal Krog, and a dark energy emanated from her, surrounding Krog's wounds. As she worked, Krog's injuries began to mend, but Elara only healed half of the damage. She pretended to be exhausted, wiping sweat from her forehead, and told Eryndor that Krog was out of danger but that she lacked the power to fully heal him. She promised to return the next day to complete the healing.

As Elara finished her work, Krog's eyes grew heavy, and he fell into a deep sleep, his body finally able to rest after the ordeal. Eryndor breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that his subordinate was on the road to recovery. Elara departed, and Eryndor walked behind her, thanking her repeatedly.

Meanwhile, Lyrien couldn't shake off the feeling that the Demoness was plotting something, and he wondered what Eryndor's significance was that Vylonia would take an interest in him.

Eryndor gazed at Krog's sleeping form, his mind wandering back to the intense battle they had just endured. The Advanced Lich, Xaren, had been a formidable foe, and Eryndor couldn't help but think that he had underestimated him. If only he had returned to the motel instead of recklessly confronting the Lich, Krog might not have suffered such a severe injury.

As he reflected on the fight, Eryndor's thoughts turned to the sword that had sparked the entire ordeal. He recalled Xaren's words: "'His brother's sword and his brother's escape spell.' You're saying that the sword I possess belonged to your brother, and that he also created an escape spell?"

Eryndor's eyes widened as he made a connection. If Xaren's brother had created the ancient teleportation spell, it was likely that the blueprint or recipe for the spell was hidden among his treasures. Eryndor's mind racing, he remembered a tattered and worn-out black book of spells that he had acquired earlier. He had once considered attempting to cast some of the spells, but had ultimately forgotten about the book.

Curiosity getting the better of him, Eryndor opened the black book and began to scan its contents. The spells listed were...unsettling, to say the least.

1. *Lustful Gaze*: A spell that makes the target more susceptible to the caster's charms, increasing their attraction and desire.

2. *Seduction's Whisper*: A spell that allows the caster to whisper suggestive thoughts into the target's mind, making them more likely to act on their desires.

3. *Dreamweaver's Caress*: A spell that allows the caster to invade the target's dreams, manipulating their subconscious desires and fantasies.

4. *Mindlink*: A spell that creates a telepathic connection between the caster and the target, allowing them to share thoughts, desires, and fantasies.

5. *Eros' Kiss*: A spell that imbues the caster's kiss with a magical energy, making the target more receptive to romantic and sensual advances.

"What kind of pervert created this book?" Eryndor exclaimed, his cheeks reddening. "Which rascal would even think to craft such spells?" He shouted, throwing the book across the room.

As the book flew through the air, a page fell out and drifted to the floor. Eryndor picked it up, blowing off the dust and dirt that had accumulated on its surface. The page was old and yellowed, but as he unfolded it, he saw that it contained a spell that made his heart skip a beat.

"Ancient Teleportation Spell," the page read. "Created by Lich King Ikram. Allows the user to envelop themselves in Angel's aura and cross the realms of living and dead." A complex diagram was drawn below the text, accompanied by a note that read: "Must be drawn with Angel's blood."

Eryndor felt a surge of hope and excitement as he discovered the Ancient Teleportation Spell, the first key to returning to his own world. The spell, created by Lich King Ikram, required Angel's blood to work, but Eryndor was confident he could overcome this challenge. With newfound determination, he began to study the spell, eager to unlock its secrets and return home.
