Mom,noooo!!!!!!,Marianna screamed out from her dream

This is the fifth time the terrifying dream keep haunting her and everyday in her life,she never sleeps when it's midnight just waking up and staring up at the ceiling remebering her mother

"Mom,I want to be a celebrity when I grow up"five year old Marianna chirped happily when her mother was plaiting her hair

"A celebrity??"Angela asked surprised

"Yes mommy, isn't being a celebrity going to take in a looottttt of moneyyy?"she asked facing her mom with a questioning eyes

"Mari,are you telling me now it's because of money you want to be a celebrity,because I'm so surprised"

"Mum,I knew since the time you aren't with dad again,it has not been easy and I want to have pleentyyyyy money so as to reward you"she said happily playing with her doll

Angela smiled surprised at what her daughter just said,who knew Mari was aware of what she was going through since the time she divorced her husband,she divided Mari back hair and plaited it then adding a pink bead to it

"Angela,that's wise of you to say but you should know being a celebrity isn't a very easy job,do you like being a celebrity or you want to be a celebrity because it rake in a lot of money,but wait ohh,who told you being a celebrity rake in a lot of money and what did you know about being a celebrity ??"Angela asked with a questioning eyes

"Mommy,I heard my aunty saying her younger sister is a celebrity and she makes a lot of money"

"Hmmmm,Mariiiii,I have always tell you not to ....." But Marianna didn't allow Angela to finish her words as she replied immediately

"Aunty Beatrice was speaking with us,she told us to have a good job so we can reward our parents in future,after we have the job,we shouldn't forgot how we got there,for example her younger sister is a celebrity who makes a lot of money and she do send a lot to her and their mother"

"Aunty Beatrice told you that??"Angela asked surprised because she knew Beatrice and since the time Beatrice sister Priscilla gained fame,she doesn't look back,she could swore it's ten years they've seen each other after she gained popularity as per being a world wide known celebrity

"Mari,I don't think I want you to be a celebrity"

"Why mom? I want to be a celebrity"

Angela finished Marianna's hair and she stood up not replying her question, going to the kitchen straight to cook

She can never allow Mari to become a celebrity,what if Mari leave her after she gained popularity like Priscilla,what if Marianna later grew up to become a very beautiful young woman and she is ashamed of showing people who her mother is,what if Marianna leave her all alone,only God know how loneliness would kill her,it's only people that know and was there when she gave birth to Marianna would believe she is her mother because Marianna is just so pretty and beautiful,what other word can she use to describe her daughter,she is just so beautiful,why her,she has became ugly since the time her husband beat her at her face and then poured acid to it claiming she is so beautiful,that's why she kept on attracting guys,so her husband turn her to an ugly woman who was always ashamed of going out

The fear of Marianna saying she isn't her mother in the future keep tearing her mind apart that she already came to a conclusion that Marianna won't leave her environment till she grows old and get married to someone then settling down in their town,yes,yes,that's what she would do

Marianna is now a ten year old girl,and she was seen coming home with her best friend from school

"Mari,did you know my uncle came to our house yesterday and he brought a lot of things"

"Which of your uncle"

"The Doctor"

"Ohhh, Doctor Brent,I thought you said he travelled out"

"Yes,he travelled out and he is back fully to settle down in our town,my uncle is now so rich,if you see his car,even his wife,they are both beautiful and marvellous"

Marianna started laughing so hard at her friend

"Wait,why did you put his wife and car together"Marianna kept laughing covering her mouth with her hand

"Mari,what's funny"Elizabeth siad looking annoyed

"I just love it,I want a type of fame people would know it's me when hearing my voice,I just want that fameeeee"Marianna replied staring up at the sky and smiling to herself

"I don't know why my mom has a problem with me being a celebrity but I'm gonna chase my dreamm girllll,let's stop talking about my mom and let's talk about what your uncle brought!!"

"Oh,my God,I can't waitttt,and then commanding people with just a gaze of my eyes"Marianna says acting like someone shopping and using her eyes to tell Elizabeth to carry her shopping bags

"Anticipate my beautiful friend,my mom is calling"Marianna says immediately bringing out her phone from her bag knowing the ringing tone immediately because she specially set the ringing tone for her mother

"I can't pick it,she is gonna keep taking and talking"she hissed tossing the phone to the bed

"Mari???"Elizabeth calls her name looking at her angrily

"Okay,I'm gonna pick it,change that face girl,or should we switch mom,it's like you love my mom alot"Marianna says itching her head trying to think of what to tell her mom

"She is your mom for crying out aloud Mari,this is not your first time you tried ignoring your mom's call"

"And that's because she won't stop talking and I want to save my battery!!"

"You've forgotten your mom bought the phone for you Mari??,now call her right now,she knew what she did by buying phone for her ten year old daughter,the main reason was because she want to be calling you"

"Fine,fine, fine,I'm going to call her,so keep on bringing out the things your uncle brought for me"she said swallowing her saliva and calling Angela

Angela picks at first ring and she won't stop asking where she is

"I'm at Elizabeth's house mommm,I told you yesterday I was going to her place mom,have you forgotten?!!!"

"Young lady,would you stop raising your voice at me and come back home instantly,it's being an hour your school closed"

"I said I'm at Elizabeth's mom!!,just three house to our house"

"Then why won't you come home before going there???Mari why are you like this??"

"Okay I'm coming"she said cutting of the call

"That's rude girl"Elizabeth eyed her bringing out a new bag

"Of course it's yours,my uncle knew not to buy just a single thing but a double thing in as much we are friends,mine is blue"

"I love itttt,let me going home,I don't want my mom to has a high blood pressure"

"You this girl,you won't stop amazing me with how you speak about your mom"

"You have to follow me so she won't have a choice by swallowing her anger"Mari asked with a pleading eye

"Let's move girllll"they both stood up walking to Mari's house

"You know I love my mom right?"Marianna asked Elizabeth immediately after Mari's house is visible to their face

"But she always has this feeling I disliked her because she is ug*y"Marianna says silently but Elizabeth heard her, Elizabeth moved closed to her giving her a hug

"Your mom is feeling insecure because she thought she is ugly but she isn't,my mom won't stop telling she was pretty before the unfortunate incident,and Mari you dont have to distance yourself from your mom,it's because of your actions Mari"

"Yeah, I knew,but mom is just so over in all what she does overprotective,overpossesive,over over over,and I can't just sit down doing nothing,she doesn't believe I'm myself,she always believe I'm hers"

"That's funny actually but you have to sit with her and talk it out"

"I pray we stay like this forever Elizabeth"Marianna smiled as they both enter the house.

"Mari?!"Angela called her name immediately she heard the sound of the door opening

"Good evening ma'am"Elizabeth greeted Angela politely with a smile and it melted Angela anger immediately

"Mom,I'm sorry,good evening"Mari greeted her too rubbing her shoes with each other

"I didn't say you shouldn't go to Elizabeth's house but firstly you should come home first,what's that in your hands"

"Elizabeth uncle said we should've you this and he gave me this"

"Ohhhhh, Elizabeth,tell your mom I'm coming to greet her ohhh"Angela said to Elizabeth the moment she turns to to be going

"Alright ma'am,I would definitely relay your message"

"Marianna ...."

"Mom , please,I already said I'm sorry,please,ehn just please"Marianna replied walking angrily to her room.

"If only you knew how pretty your mother was before"Angela thought instantly sitting down on the couch sadly.

Marianna past keep playing to her face as it later dawned on her,she losed her mother and her bestfriend because of a guy she claimed she loved who never loved her back

A guy she thought was going to help her achieve her dream of being a celebrity,a guy she gave all her all because she wanted to became a celebrity,she sacrificed her mother and her friend and the thought won't stop eating her up

Tears came from both her eyes as she stared at the ceiling thinking about her past
