Chapter 1 - THE HIDDEN ALGORITHM

Chapter One: The Hidden Algorithm

The neon skyline of Shanghai flickered against the glass walls of the penthouse, casting an ethereal glow over the minimalist interior. Inside, Jiang Wei, the mysterious billionaire behind Titan Capital, sat at his custom-built desk, his fingers dancing across the sleek keyboard. On the ultra-wide screen before him, a complex web of numbers, stock fluctuations, and financial models moved in perfect harmony.

But Jiang Wei wasn't just analyzing the market—he was controlling it.

Unlike other investors who relied on intuition, insider information, or pure luck, Jiang Wei had developed something far more potent: an AI-driven financial system capable of predicting stock trends before they happened. A system so powerful that, in the wrong hands, it could shift the global economy.

And tonight, someone had tried to break into it.

A sharp beep pierced the silence.

Jiang Wei's eyes flicked to the upper-right corner of his screen. A red warning flashed:

> Unauthorized Access Detected.

Source: Tokyo, Japan.

His fingers froze. His system was supposed to be impenetrable. He had spent years refining the encryption, creating layers of security that even government agencies couldn't crack.

Yet, someone had found a way in.

With a single keystroke, he activated Protocol Shadow, a defensive mechanism designed to trace any intrusion attempt back to its source. The system rapidly filtered through terabytes of data, pinpointing the breach.

A single name appeared on the screen.

> IP Address traced to: KAI CORP – Tokyo, Japan.

Jiang Wei's jaw tightened. Kai Corporation—one of the largest tech conglomerates in Asia.

"This isn't just some hacker," he muttered under his breath.

Kai Corporation was known for its innovations in artificial intelligence and quantum computing. If they were after his system, it meant one thing—they knew about it.

A surge of adrenaline coursed through his veins. He grabbed his phone and dialed a number.

"Lei, execute Phase One. I want everything on Kai Corp—executives, security protocols, recent projects."

On the other end, Lei Ming, Jiang Wei's most trusted operative, responded instantly.

"Already on it. But boss… this is big. If Kai Corp is making a move, it means they see you as a threat."

Jiang Wei smirked. They should.

A Billionaire's Secret

Jiang Wei wasn't always a billionaire.

Born into a humble family in Hangzhou, he grew up watching his father struggle in a failing textile business. The financial crisis had wiped out everything they had. Banks, hedge funds, the stock market—they all seemed like a rigged game, designed to keep the powerful in control while ordinary people suffered.

But Jiang Wei was different.

From a young age, he had an unnatural ability to see patterns—hidden relationships between numbers, trends in the economy that others missed. By the time he was fifteen, he had already built his first stock prediction algorithm. By twenty, he had turned a $5,000 investment into $5 million.

Then he disappeared.

For five years, he remained in the shadows, refining his ultimate system—a fusion of AI, machine learning, and high-frequency trading that could manipulate global markets with surgical precision.

Now, at thirty-two, he controlled a multi-billion-dollar empire. But power came at a cost.

If the world knew about his system, they wouldn't see it as a financial tool. They would see it as a weapon.

And now, Kai Corporation was after it.

The Threat in the Dark

Jiang Wei leaned back in his chair, his sharp eyes narrowing as he analyzed the breach.

Kai Corp wouldn't have attacked blindly. They were testing his defenses, probing for weaknesses. But the fact that they were trying at all meant one of two things:

1. They had discovered the existence of his system.

2. Someone had leaked information about it.

Either way, it was a problem.

The phone buzzed again. It was Lei Ming.

"Boss, I found something. Two weeks ago, a senior researcher from Kai Corp named Yamada Ryo filed a patent for an 'AI-driven stock forecasting model.' The description sounds… too similar to your system."

Jiang Wei's fingers tightened around his phone. Impossible.

Had someone stolen his research? Or had Kai Corp developed their own version?

Lei's voice was tense. "There's more. Yamada Ryo is set to present the project at a private investor meeting in Tokyo… tomorrow."

Jiang Wei stood, his mind racing.

They weren't just after his system. They were trying to replicate it.

For years, he had operated in the shadows, staying ahead of the world's most powerful financial institutions. But now, someone was forcing him into the light.

He glanced at the city skyline, his reflection staring back at him through the glass.

"Lei," he said, his voice cold and calculated. "Book me a flight to Tokyo. It's time we remind them who controls the game."
