Chapter 53 - The Press Conference

The room fell into complete silence. All eyes were on Zi Ning as she stood before the cameras, her expression calm yet sharp.

"This is not just about Wang Yin," she repeated, her voice steady. "This is about power, corruption, and the belief that wealth can buy anything—including justice."

The reporters leaned forward, sensing that what she was about to reveal would shake the entire industry.

"I was framed," Zi Ning continued. "You all saw how my reputation was ruined overnight. The media labeled me a liar, a cheater, and a disgrace. But none of it was true."

Murmurs spread through the audience. The reporters already knew the truth now, but hearing Zi Ning say it out loud made it even more powerful.

She took a deep breath and continued. "Wang Yin orchestrated everything. She manipulated the media, used people in high places, and tried to destroy my life. But she wasn't acting alone."

At that moment, the room tensed. Everyone knew Wang Yin had been arrested, but no one expected Zi Ning to imply that there were bigger names behind her.

"The people behind her are still trying to cover the truth," Zi Ning said, her gaze sharp. "They tried to silence Wang Yin before she could expose them. And when that failed, they went after someone else."

She paused, letting her words sink in. Then, she revealed the next shocking truth.

"Wang Xue's father was attacked last night. He was left for dead."

Gasps filled the room. The reporters exchanged stunned glances. The attack had been kept quiet, but now, with Zi Ning exposing it in front of the whole world, there was no way to cover it up.

One reporter immediately raised his hand. "Miss Zi Ning, are you saying Wang Yin's backers ordered the attack?"

Zi Ning's lips curled slightly. "Who else would benefit from his silence?"

The reporters exploded with questions.

"Do you have evidence?"

"Is the Guo family involved?"

"Will you be taking legal action?"

Zi Ning raised a hand, and the room quieted again.

"I am not here to throw around baseless accusations," she said calmly. "I am here to expose the truth."

She looked directly into the cameras, as if speaking to the people hiding in the shadows.

"You have tried to silence me once. You have tried to destroy me. But I am still here."

Her words carried a strong, unshakable determination.

"You want me to stay quiet? That will never happen."

Watching the press conference from his office, Guo Bao's face twisted in rage.

"She's challenging us!" he shouted, slamming his fist against the desk.

Guo Jiancheng, however, remained calm. He sipped his tea slowly before placing the cup down.

"This girl is smart," he said. "She knows we're behind Wang Yin, but she isn't directly accusing us. She's forcing us into a corner without naming us."

Guo Bao clenched his jaw. "Then what do we do?"

Guo Jiancheng's eyes darkened. "We make her regret it."

Guo Bao swallowed. "You mean…?"

His father's voice was cold. "Break her."

Meanwhile, after the press conference, Zi Ning walked out of the building, surrounded by security.

Jiang Yue rushed up to her. "That was amazing! Did you see how the reporters reacted? They'll never let this story die now!"

Lu Yichen approached as well, his expression unreadable. "You just made yourself an even bigger target."

Zi Ning turned to him, her eyes calm. "I know. But I won't let fear stop me."

Lu Yichen stared at her for a long moment before finally speaking. "Then let me protect you."

Zi Ning's heart skipped a beat, but before she could respond, Zhou Wei ran up to them, his face tense.

"Miss Zi Ning, we have a problem."

Zi Ning immediately straightened. "What happened?"

Zhou Wei handed her his phone. "A new scandal just broke out."

Zi Ning's fingers tightened around the device as she read the headline.

"Breaking News: Zi Ning's Secret Relationship Exposed—Linked to Multiple Men?"

Her breath caught.

Jiang Yue grabbed the phone and scrolled through the article. "This is insane! They're claiming you seduced several directors to get roles?!"

Lu Yichen's face darkened as he took out his own phone. "They're using fake 'evidence'—edited photos, old rumors, and paid witnesses."

Zhou Wei's voice was low. "It's the Guo family. They're retaliating."

Zi Ning clenched her fists. She had expected them to fight back, but this was faster than she had anticipated.

Jiang Yue was fuming. "This is so dirty! You just exposed the truth, and they're already trying to bury it under another scandal!"

Zi Ning exhaled slowly. "That means we're hitting them where it hurts."

She turned to Lu Yichen. "Can you trace who spread this story first?"

Lu Yichen nodded. "Already on it."

Zhou Wei added, "I've also contacted our PR team. We can release a statement."

Zi Ning shook her head. "No statements. That's exactly what they want—if we start defending ourselves, it'll look like we're guilty."

Jiang Yue frowned. "Then what do we do?"

Zi Ning's lips curled into a smirk. "We let them think they're winning."

Lu Yichen's eyes flickered with interest. "You have a plan?"

Zi Ning's voice was cold. "Of course."

The next day, the scandal dominated every news outlet.

"Zi Ning's Acting Career—A Result of Unspoken Deals?"

"Anonymous Sources Claim She Has a History of Using Her Looks for Success."

The internet was in chaos.

"I knew it! No way she got so famous so fast without connections!"

"She just exposed Wang Yin, and suddenly this comes out? Suspicious!"

"These 'sources' sound fake. Someone is trying too hard to frame her."

The public was divided, but the damage was being done.

Guo Bao sat in his office, smirking as he scrolled through the headlines.

"She won't recover from this."

But just as he was about to celebrate, his assistant rushed in, looking pale.

"Sir! You need to see this!"

Guo Bao frowned and took the tablet from him. His smirk vanished instantly.

Breaking News: Zi Ning Strikes Back—Major Celebrities, Executives, and Influencers Exposed for Fake Scandals!

The article detailed how multiple celebrities had been framed in the past using similar tactics—fake witnesses, edited photos, and bribed journalists.

The report had evidence. Bank transfers. Leaked messages. Testimonies from former insiders.

And at the very end, it named the Guo family as one of the biggest players in this game of manipulation.

Guo Bao's hands trembled as he read.

"This… this is impossible!"

The comments section was exploding.

"So the Guo family has been behind all these fake scandals?!"

"If they did this to Zi Ning, how many others have they ruined?"

"Investigate them! Don't let them get away with this!"

Zi Ning had flipped the script.

Instead of defending herself, she had turned the attack back on them—exposing how the entertainment industry was controlled by powerful families who used scandals to destroy their enemies.

Guo Jiancheng walked in just then, his expression unreadable as he glanced at the headlines.

Guo Bao looked up at him, panic in his eyes. "Father… what do we do?"

Guo Jiancheng's voice was calm but deadly.

"We destroy her."
