Lu Yichen's office was in chaos.
His assistant, security team, and personal guards were scrambling for information.
"Boss! We tracked Miss Zi Yan's last location!"
Lu Yichen turned sharply. "Where?"
His assistant gulped. "A warehouse near the docks. It's owned by one of Guo Bao's companies."
Lu Yichen's face darkened.
That man had finally crossed the line.
He grabbed his coat and strode out.
"Prepare the car. And call my men. We're going in."
His assistant hesitated. "Boss, should we call the police?"
Lu Yichen's eyes were cold and merciless.
"No., he said. "I'll handle this myself."
Zi Yan sat calmly in the dimly lit warehouse.
Her hands were still tied, but she refused to show weakness.
Guo Bao paced in front of her, looking smug.
"You're a difficult woman, Zi Yan," he said.
"No matter how many times we tried to crush you, you always got back up."
Zi Yan smirked. "That's because you're too weak to stop me."
Guo Bao's smile vanished. His hand struck across her face.
A sharp sting spread across her cheek, but Zi Yan didn't flinch.
Instead, she laughed.
"You think this scares me?" she taunted. "You're nothing but a pathetic man who needs to use dirty tricks to win."
Guo Bao's fists clenched.
He turned to his men. "Keep an eye on her. If she tries anything, break her legs."
Zi Yan watched him leave, her mind already working on an escape plan.
She wouldn't sit here and wait to be saved.
Outside the warehouse, a convoy of blacked-out SUVs pulled up silently.
Dozens of men in black suits stepped out, weapons in hand.
Lu Yichen got out last.
He adjusted his cuffs, his expression calm—but his eyes burned with fury.
Guo Bao's men at the entrance never saw it coming.
With one swift motion, Lu Yichen's men knocked them out cold.
Lu Yichen walked over their unconscious bodies, stepping inside.
"Find her," he ordered.
His men spread out, moving like shadows in the dark.
Guo Bao had no idea what was coming.
Inside, Zi Yan kept testing the ropes around her wrists.
They were tight, but she had already loosened them slightly.
She just needed a little more time.
One of the guards yawned, stretching his arms.
Zi Yan saw her chance.
In a swift motion, she kicked her chair forward, slamming it into his legs.
The man stumbled, cursing. "Damn it, you—"
Zi Yan twisted her hands free and grabbed a nearby metal rod.
Before the guard could react, she swung it at his head.
CRACK!
He collapsed instantly.
The other guard rushed at her.
Zi Yan ducked, grabbed his wrist, and twisted hard.
SNAP!
The guard screamed as his wrist broke.
Zi Yan grabbed his gun, aimed, and fired at the ceiling.
The loud gunshot echoed through the warehouse.
It was a signal.
Lu Yichen would know where to find her now.
Guo Bao stormed back into the room, furious.
"What the hell is going on?!"
Then he saw Zi Yan standing there, holding a gun.
His eyes widened. "How did you—"
Before he could finish, the doors burst open.
Lu Yichen walked in.
His expression was blank, but his aura was suffocating.
Guo Bao took a step back.
"L-Lu Yichen?"
Lu Yichen didn't speak.
He simply raised his hand.
His men rushed forward.
Within seconds, Guo Bao's men were on the ground, groaning in pain.
Zi Yan watched, impressed.
Lu Yichen had come like a storm, wiping out everything in his way.
Guo Bao trembled.
"You… You can't do this! I have powerful connections—"
Lu Yichen finally spoke.
"I warned you before," he said, his voice low and deadly.
He took a step closer, his sharp gaze pinning Guo Bao in place.
"If you ever touched Zi Yan…" Lu Yichen's fingers tightened into a fist.
"I would end you."
Guo Bao stumbled back in fear.
Lu Yichen punched him.
Hard.
Guo Bao's head snapped back, blood splattering across the floor.
He collapsed, coughing.
Lu Yichen crouched beside him.
"This is just the beginning," he whispered.
"By tomorrow, you'll have nothing left."
Guo Bao's eyes widened in terror.
His businesses, his status, his power—Lu Yichen would destroy it all.
Zi Yan stepped forward.
She stared down at Guo Bao and said, "Enjoy the fall."
Then she turned away.
Lu Yichen wrapped his coat around her shoulders and led her out.
The nightmare was over.
But for Guo Bao and Wang Yin…
Their nightmare was just beginning.
