Lex quite shakily stood up and looked at his wife with a shocked expression because there were several buildings destroyed behind him.
"What just happened?" Lex asked as he looked at his wife, who was staring at nothing in front of her.
"Have you awakened your talent?" Lex asked again, as only heroes are eligible to look at the panel, which is only visible to them.
"Yes, apparently I'm an 'S' rank hero." Sheng Ling said while her face formed a smile, becoming powerful was such an occasion that you have to be happy and surprise your husband with such good news.
"S' rank, huh?" Lex, saying this, sat down on the chair again and didn't get shocked or anything; he just sat down calmly.
"You're not shocked?" Sheng Ling asked; she thought she could give her husband the shock of a lifetime.
"Well, what use does an 'S' ranker have? You've got Special Element, right? You can do magic tricks for the kids. There's no need for heroes anymore." Lex said, as he was also a hero and he had no work to do.

Every hero around the world got the message on the panel; Lex and Sheng Ling looked at the panel and were awed.
As they were about to talk about the panel notification, a tremor engulfed the whole world; such a tremor was so huge that the buildings began to shake.
Lex, grabbing Sheng Ling's hand, ran outside, and the situation outside was not that good either; it was chaotic and messy; everyone was running.
"Let's go to the Hero Center; I still have a 'D' rank access to it. It will at least give us initial security," Lex said while still clutching Sheng Ling's hand and looking around for the best way to go from at the chaotic atmosphere.
"Lex, you go take shelter; I feel like it's my opportunity." Sheng Ling said while she looked confident, her usual demeanor was nowhere to be seen.
"What are you saying? It's dangerous out there, and you've never seen a gate opening. It's chaotic; all types of monsters came out of that gate." Lex retorted; he was a little bit forceful in his voice, but he took a deep breath to calm himself down.
"Don't worry, it'll be fine. I feel like there's something calling me," Sheng Ling said with a smile on her face.
"You!!" Lex looked at his wife, blinking his eyes in shock, and he was out of words.
"Alright, go." Lex left her hand and took a step back. Sheng Ling first was hesitant, but both of her hands glowed up suddenly, and she flew towards the opposite direction of where people were running from.
Lex calmly watched her fly; as he was a 'D' rank hero, he couldn't fly, but he could let her have a go at her luck.
Lex still remembers those days when his wife cried all night after their firstborn was stillborn.
Because he was a hero and she was a normal human being, their baby was born with extreme genes, and her body couldn't contain the baby properly, and the day he almost lost his life, she went alone inside the dungeon to rescue him. She was always there when he needed her.
As they were a couple for over a decade, he understood his wife the most; she wanted to be a powerful woman all her life, but as her talent was not enough, she couldn't be what she wanted. Now that she got the opportunity, he can't just obstruct her path to success.

As he was about to call her out, he suddenly felt a huge tremor from behind, as there was no civilian around. Lex calmly looked back at the huge gate that had just appeared out of nowhere it was as if the space was cracked and he could even see the universe.
He understood that every top class hero was waiting for this gate to open, and he got here first by coincidence or bad luck.
