Chapter 8 - New Discovery

By the time Gasco returned to the Wayne Manor, it was too late. Kyle, a young prodigy with a keen interest in biotechnology, briefly chatted with the butler before retreating to his room to sleep. After all, he is still a fifteen-year-old boy and must ensure sufficient sleep time to maintain his sharp mind.

Time is like flowing water, and the night passes quickly. Due to the murder scene last night, Kyle didn't sleep well, but this experience is enough to steel his resolve.

"Master, this is the money I brought back from there last night. I believe you will need it," Gasco said, presenting a silver-white suitcase filled with pure cash. The total amount was $500,000, enough for Kyle to address his immediate needs, particularly for his new company, Wayne Biotech.

Alice, Kyle's diligent private secretary, had already filed the necessary paperwork for the company. With Kyle's permission, the incorporation could be finalized today. However, this would further deplete Kyle's account, reducing it to less than seven figures.

"Yes, the $500,000 should be enough to put the first batch of machinery into production," Kyle mused, opening the suitcase and inspecting the banknotes. His current mission is twofold: earn enough money to fund his experiments and interfere with key events to collect points.

Kyle is particularly interested in Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, who are currently in Sokovia. He has dispatched agents to locate them, believing there will be results soon.

After dressing and finishing breakfast, Kyle and Gasco headed to Wayne Biotech by car. Today, Kyle plans to secure additional funding from his uncles and attend an exclusive upper-class exchange party in New York. This party, which Tony Stark is expected to attend, is a prime opportunity for networking.

"Boss, good morning!" Alice greeted Kyle as he entered the office, holding seven or eight folders with a determined smile. Kyle's expression shifted from joy to dread. He glanced at Gasco and said, "I still have a meeting to attend. You handle this with Alice. I'll withdraw first."

With that, Kyle bolted at a speed rivaling that of Quicksilver, leaving Gasco to face Alice's relentless work ethic. Despite Gasco's enhancements from the No. 7 crystal, he felt a chill run down his spine as Alice's devilish smile widened.

"Miss Alice, you see I'm so old. Can you let me go just this once?" Gasco pleaded, his recently dyed black hair making him appear younger. But Alice, a workaholic, was unmoved. She dragged Gasco into the office, determined to get through the paperwork.

Meanwhile, at the No. 7 Crystal Laboratory, Kyle observed researchers conducting experiments on mice. "Lane, are you sure you want to give this to the guinea pig?" Kyle asked, watching as a researcher prepared to administer a dissolved form of the No. 7 crystal to a mouse.

"Boss, this is the opening of a new path. We always thought implantation would be the most effective method, but we need to explore other possibilities," explained Ryan, a senior genetics expert.

With Kyle's permission, Ryan administered the liquid crystal to the mouse. Within minutes, the mouse's fur turned black and metallic, its eyes glowed blood red, and its claws sharpened. The creature became increasingly aggressive, eventually exploding in a gruesome display.

"Don't do this kind of experiment in the future," Kyle warned Ryan, his tone grave. The results were too unpredictable and dangerous.

"Don't worry, boss. I will burn the relevant information. This will never be known by others," Ryan assured, wiping sweat from his brow.

Kyle then informed Ryan that he would be sending the first batch of human test subjects soon. These subjects, mostly veterans introduced by Gasco, are highly disciplined and ideal for the next phase of experiments. Kyle aims to produce more superpowered individuals, leveraging the No. 7 crystal's potential.
