Swoosh
Cold wind blew which reminded Silch of when he was standing out side the allay and the wind that pushed him towards the mysterious space.
He looked at the bald man who didn't show any hints of annoyance at the cold wind.
The bald man also looked at him and then looked towards the ground like he did always.
Then the bald man said slowly as his mouth inhaled the cold breeze. "Dawn was renamed to 'Calamity'. The people hated this change but they still chose to learn and speak the new language, which none can blame. Calamity was a city of criminals as the population decreased and we received no money from the kingdom aside from the payment of the border guards. The people stop believing in the goddess and did not pay taxes to the church. With low tax money we barely survived, the rich left for other major cities and Calamity turned into a slum."
The bald mans face turned to a smile and his shiny bald head glowed from the sunlight which was exposed as the cold wind stopped blowing.
He chuckled an then laughed. His laugh stopped as he said calmly "The city had no hope for survival for the next century. But then hope came in the form of a young soldier called 'Ayris'."
When he mentioned "Ayris" Silch's face turned excited but just a little bit.
"Who is this Ayris." Silch asked this question, finally after waiting for 3 whole seconds of silence.
The bald man smiles once more as even the thought of 'Ayris' "Ayris was our savior. He was an ordinary boy who went missing for 3 years at the age of 5. As he was an orphan, no one came looking for him. Later someone found that young boy inside the candle. The boy was said to have blue hair, he was still and eight year old. The man who found him said that the boy's face was determined for something which he couldn't have never guessed. After a decade the boy joined the border guard. After 3 years he became a member of the kings council, he later wished to change the name of our city back to the City of Dawn. We refused to spite the other cities, to make calamity the capital of hehe. He reformed the city, he rebuilt the candle and fixed the goods import system. He made the city thrive. He later went missing 20 years ago. The city was renamed to the city of Dawn. And we received 'Orb of Attribute' why signifies the importance of a city in any kingdom. The city became one of the 13 pillars of the kingdom. The land which you came from is a prohibited hunting grounds only for the beast hunters."
Silch did not understand why the 'Orb of Attribute' was made public as it gave one supernatural abilities called an 'Evaluation'. He didn't question more about it, believing if he had then he would be questioned to why he did not know any common knowledge. Even his status as someone from a small town cant save him if the 'Orb of Attribute' was public as information of something which was that extraordinary would spread faster than wildfire. He did not know much about this world anyway. 'The orb could be common knowledge from the beginning.'
The bald man asked, interrupting Silch's thinking session as he would call it. "You can enter that tower if you wish to be a border guard, if you received a terrible or useless 'Evaluation' you can take on a normal job around that city, but based on your life i could guess i wont receive something bad or completely useless."
Silch believed that these 'Evaluations' from 'Tales in the dark' were based on ones life and would different from each other. People who lived normal lives wouldn't receive anything usefully, but for someone, say a pirate who spent his entire life hunting for tressures would receive an ability to detect valuables. He did not think that he would get anything good from his 'Evaluation', his status as someone from an other world would not count. The orb gives abilities based on their actions which have an effect on this world, but that effect even if its small should be a large part of one's life, if one does something that does something that changes the world, but if that one large deed was the only thing they did in their entire life, then it would only give them a small ability, but still a useful one. 'The body of this person was probably someone from this city who for some reason entered the prohibited zone and unfortunately was the one who was chosen to be used to be vessel in which i enter.'
Silch could only think if he would get a good 'Evaluation' and his new body's previous owner was someone special.
He stood straight and told the bald man. "I wish to enter the candle and join the border guard. I also wish to be a beast hunter."
