Stanley was silent, unable to say a word.
Zoe got to the door, looked back and said to them.
"This is not over yet, you bastards." She walked out, slamming the door behind her.
Zoe decided to use the stairs instead of the elevator. She had noticed that the stairs were quiet on a Friday night, probably because everyone had already gone somewhere for the night to parties or to engage in other activities for fun.
Zoe got to the stairs. She tried to wipe her tears repeatedly, but they kept falling uncontrollably. However, she ignored it.
She cried and kept asking herself what she had done wrong to those ungrateful human beings.
"Today is our third year wedding anniversary, and Stanley decided to celebrate it with my sister."
"I have been a supporting wife and a caring sister to Jenna…Oh, I feel betrayed. I have been working my ass off every day just to make these fools happy, and no one ever cared how I feel…Stanley's mom is not even good to talk about." Zoe kept saying to herself.
Her heart was too wounded. But she gathered her strength and stepped down.
Zoe's eyes became red and puffy from crying non-stop and her hair was unkept, her light make-up ruined by her tears. She felt miserable.
Zoe kept walking down the street in Wimland.
A car stopped in front of her, and a man stuck his head out, "Miss, are you okay? He asked with concern laced in his tone. "I saw you working alone. This place is not safe at night."
"Can you take me to the bar?" She asked coldly.
"Is that where you would want to be right now, Miss?"
Zoe nodded her head in response.
"All right, come on in."
She opened the backseat and got in. All of a sudden, she became nervous.
'Maybe this man was sent by Stanley to know my whereabouts. But he doesn't have a rich friend that owns a car,' Zoe thought to herself.
She hasn't met with Stanley's friends before. He was always going out to meet with them. Even if they visit, she would be at work and never see them.
It was only she who never had fun, not before she was married to Stanley and even more so after she married him.
"Do you live around here?" The man asked.
Zoe replied, "Yes I do. My apartment isn't far away from where you picked me up.
Zoe wasn't ready for a question from this gentleman who offered to give her a ride to the bar.
But he kept asking.
He glanced at her from his rearview mirror, he saw that the lady was staring straight, with tears falling down her chick. "What is your name? Miss."
Umm…, Zoe.
He was able to draw a few assumptions in his head, but the highest probability was…heartbreak.
He continued. "I know of a bar you would like to cool off."
This time Zoe didn't respond.
The gentleman felt the silence; he dared not ask further questions. He glanced at Zoe one more time, she leaned against the seat with tears still falling down her chick.
Zoe's phone started ringing.
She managed to wipe her tears off, before dipping her hands into her handbag for the phone.
When Zoe glanced at her phone screen she saw her husband as the caller.
"I knew it."
"What is it? Zoe yelled as she picked. "Haven't you done enough…My whereabouts? It's none of your business!" She quickly switched off her phone and tossed it back into her handbag.
She quickly maintained her silence, as she almost embarrassed herself, forgetting she was in someone's car.
She squinted. "Please, are we close to the bar?"
"Yes, Miss." He responded.
Zoe was ready to cool off tonight with a bottle of cocktail after what she experienced at her house some minutes ago. She needed to stay far away from those two betrayals. They make her sick, just looking at them both lying down naked.
"Don't worry. I know what you need, and I'm sure you will get it at the bar that I am taking you to…Miss…" said the gentleman.
Zoe nodes her head in response.
He started playing a slow-tempo song. "Poison" sung by Beyonce.
Zoe nodded to the song, letting the rhythm flow through her body as she sang along. However, she never allowed her tears to fall. The song made her realize that Stanley had been a poison to her life which she needed to flush out of her system.
The man turned to Zoe and said, we are here at the bar.
Zoe was so carried away by the song that she didn't realize when the gentleman stopped the car.
"Are you sure you will be fine here?" He asked.
"Yeah," Zoe said. With work being most of her life, she had nowhere to go but the bar.
She opened the door bringing her handbag and shoes.
"Okay, I think I should be with you in there," the man suggested.
Zoe sighed. "Don't worry, I will be fine, I only need a few bottles of whiskey."
The lady looks like someone who would drink herself to stupor after heartbreak.
Zoe turned, she looked at the man and gave him a thin smile. "Thank you for helping me."
The man watched her walk into the bar,he sighed, "What a pitiful woman, I can see that she's in a lot of pain."

'Well, I thought that giving Stanley a comfortable life until he found a job would be enough to compensate for the fact that I can't give him a baby,' Zoe thought to herself.
She walked through a few empty seats in the bar until she got a comfortable one.
She ordered a bottle of whiskey. And it was brought to her by one of the waiters.
"How could I be so stupid? Of course it's not enough for Stanley. Nothing I did was good enough for him." Zoe ridiculed herself, as she drank out of the bottle of alcohol.
But her attention was suddenly diverted when she realized that someone was sitting opposite her.
"Hi pretty, care to dance with me?" A strange man with a creepy grin stretched on his face asked
