The aircraft landed thirteen hours later at the Incheon airport. Passengers disembarked from the aircraft one by one and retrieved their checked luggage. Without waiting any longer Park James walked hastily towards the pick up zone where his brother would be waiting for him. On his way he was blocked by a crowd of fans tailing a man dressed in all black, a face mask and a cap concealing his features and several men dressed in black suits followed him up close. Park James could already guess the man was a celebrity. The fans howled as their cameras captured the moment.
"Stupid humans!"Park James snorted in disbelief. He made his way through the crowd and safely reached his designated destination. There at the pick up zone,a sleek black car was parked separately from other cars. A young man dressed in slim fit grey trousers ,a plain white T-shirt and a black jacket accentuating his broad shoulders had his body leaning against the car. His jet black hair was polished backwards highlighting his handsome yet mature facial features.
"Hyung?"Park James called out.
"You brat you're finally back!"Park Seung-ho,his elder brother pulled him into a hug.
"Why are you hugging me so tight even with my agile nature I might die,"Park James teased.
"You rascal,"Park Seung-ho scolded him and let go of him.
"I'm exhausted shall we head home directly ? Plus I'm really in need of some nice red liquid,"Park James said sticking out his fangs playfully.
The two each opened the car doors and slipped inside and Park Seung-ho hit the road immediately. In around an hour they arrived at Park Seung-ho's apartment located in one of the residential estates in Nonhyeon-dong.
The apartment was located in the tenth floor of the apartment complex. It was spacious and cozy suitable for the two bachelors. The interior was well designed ,neat and tidy following Park Seung-ho's orderly nature.
Park James plopped himself on the couch and sighed satisfactorily. He closed his eyes and breathed in the fresh air circulating in the well ventilated room.
"This is even better than my apartment in LA,"Park James remarked.
"How was America? I thought you'd never come back,"Park Seung-ho began, settling on another couch directly across from Park James.
"Well Korea used to be a little bit boring but now I find it fascinating,"Park James said in a playful tone.
In his two hundred years of life,he had only stepped in Korea twice and the last time he was there was twenty five years ago. He preferred the western states because he felt they were modernized and the individuals were highly sophisticated hence the society did not limit his recalcitrant behaviour. Korea was more reserved and the society played a key role in defining and shaping one's behaviour. Park James had always thought the society was hypocritical and he never wanted to be bound by it.
"It's so rare of you to have a change of heart. Are you sure you want to audition to be a K-pop trainee?"
"When have I never been sure in my decisions?"Park James sassed,"I've always wanted to be a K-pop idol ever since I saw that group Lush."
Park James had always dreamt of standing on the big stage singing his heart out and he was especially interested in dancing and choreography.Becoming a K-pop idol would allow him to explore a variety of choreographies and in that way he would put his artistic skills into use and showcase them to the whole world. If need be he could soar high and reach the highest peak where no human would ever be able to reach.
"But they disbanded some years ago ."
"It doesn't matter they are still my mentors."
"Our company will be hosting auditions on July 20th but the company is small. The group will be the company's first long term project. The company will choose only the best six to train them. They can't afford to cater for more trainees,"Park Seung-ho explained.
Unlike Park James who had stayed in America for most of his life, Park Seung-ho was more patriotic and preferred Korea. He moved to Korea twenty years ago. He had done a number of jobs but they didn't pique his interest until two years ago he suddenly resigned from his work and joined a rookie entertainment company that was barely recognizable even in Korea. The company specialized in organizing small events like weddings by providing means of entertainment through deejaying and other stuff. And now the CEO had decided to invest in a more advanced form of entertainment service by forming its first Idol group.
"From what you've said are you sure that small company of yours will enable me achieve my big dream of becoming a star?"Park James ridiculed.
"What? Do you want to audition in a bigger company?"
"Of course. Won't it increase my chances of rising to stardom?"
"But who will help you hide your vampire identity? What company will allow a blood sucker to be in the same group as their human idols?"
"Are you trying to prove that only your company will help me audition without revealing my identity?"
"As long as you don't misbehave I will make some arrangements for you to hide your identity. Remember this is not America you can't do as you please,"Park Seung-ho warned him.
"And how will you help me hide my identity?"
"I will supply you with blood and also there are some pills which can be used to reduce your desire for blood. You won't be affected by the scent of blood of your fellow band mates,"Park Seung-ho explained lucidly.
"That sounds like a good plan. Then I'll audition at your company. Hate to say it but you're really good with words. I never thought I'd be convinced that easily."
"Yes and if you mess up forget about your so called big dream ,"Park Seung-ho added.
"Enough of your lectures vampire grandpa get me some blood and it better be O blood type ,"Park James demanded.
"You can't boss me around in my own house. You shall drink whatever I offer to you."
Park Seung-ho walked to the kitchen and came back a few minutes later with two medium sized blood bags throwing them at his brother who gulped down the liquid hungrily.
"Korean blood is sweeter,"he said running his tongue over his lower lip.
