Chapter 1 - Who is the murderer?

The blood was thick, and it had an unpleasant stench. The pool of blood that surrounded the

five men was a disgusting sight to behold. Two men were now standing before it, a

disgusting sight but they weren't taken in by the disgust; rather, they looked more worried

than disgusted. One of the men had sky-blue hair and was more muscular than the other; the possessed

a sword that pierced through the sides of the jacket to his shoulders. The other man was more

muscular than the latter and he had blue-colored hair.

The sky-blue-haired man walked into the pool of blood without the blood splashing

over. He genuflected and touched the deep slice cut impacted in one of the men on the belly.

He looked over to the second man and saw the same cut in his chest. The blue-haired man

walked closer to the third man and saw the same cut on his legs and then a tear

beginning from his bladder and stopping halfway at his chest.

"Every kill seems to be similar," the blue-haired man said to his companion.

"Not all," the sky-blue-haired man said, turning to the fourth and fifth men on their faces

with their backs revealing a smooth circular ring-like cut.

"What's that?" the blue-haired man asked, walking over to the side of his companion.

"It seems to be a ring-like weapon."

"What sort could inflict this?"

"I do not now, Dusk, but I know that this is not a mere kill," the sky-blue-haired man

said, getting up and taking one last glance at the dead men.

"So, Frozal, what do we do?" Dusk asked.

"What else?" Frozal said with a pause. "We inform the others of our findings, and

from there, we would know what to do."

Frozal walked forward while Dusk followed him. The onlookers began to whisper

concerning each of what they thought of the situation. Some believed the killer made it through

an ambush because one of the deceased was a sword fighter, Nino. Others believed the

killer was powerful and fit enough to kill the men. Frozal and Dusk walked past them, and

their gazes shifted to them. They spoke of them as heroic supernatural beings that ensured

safety in their land.

They both walked towards the east and from there they teleported into a room. The

room was filled with beings all seated. Frozal looked at all the beings seated. He took

three steps before speaking.

"Three of the deceased were cut through by blades, I guess, but the other two were cut

by half through by ring-like blades that possessed no edge."

"What do you mean by a blade with no edges?" a yellow-haired guy who had a folded scar on his left eye asked.

"From the cut Dusk and I saw, it was a smooth but impressively large slit than that of a blade cut."

"So you mean a ring-like object or weapon cut through the body of humans and inflicted such a great effect on them?" a man with green hair asked.

"From the look of things, the killer seems to be an expert in the use of weapons," Dusk said.

"I don't understand how three guards and two sword fighters of the same group would be killed by someone—" said the yellow-haired man before pausing, "unless the killer bears a grudge against their group, the Temblins."

"That makes some sense, but another assumption could be that the killer was an intruder, and as the work of the Temblins implies, they exist to guard our borders. They might have tried to stop him, but he proved to be more powerful than them," another yellow-haired man said. He had no scars on him.

"I agree with you, Elotel, but let's work first with Omit's assumption. We can visit the Temblins and make them aware of the matter on the ground," Frozal said.

"They better not make things hard because they usually try to seem stubborn," a man who wore robes around his mouth added.

"They wouldn't dare do such. It is a matter that concerns their members; they can't be so stupid," said a man who had his hair colored like that of fire.

"Lio-Zio, you and your brother, Intilio, can help us get into the Temblins and deliver our information," Frozal said, shifting his gaze to the green-haired man and flame-haired man. "Omit and I will search the city for any sign of an intruder."

"We shall go see these corpses ourselves and see if we can detect the murderer," said the man with his robes over his mouth.

Lio-Zio stood up and walked towards Frozal, pausing by his side before speaking. "We sure aren't going to lose this."

Frozal smiled, then looked at Bau, the last of the men. Intilio got up and paced forward to meet up with his brother. Elotel looked at Frozal, who was staring at him.

"What's the matter?" he asked.

"Just thinking... Bau should be with us in the search. He can sight things from afar."

"Okay then, you have me," Bau said, getting up from his seat and looking into the coffee he was drinking. Suddenly, a face of a man formed in the coffee, but then it vanished.

Frozal and Omit had started leaving before Bau went after them. They began walking in the dark, ensuring everyone was in their huts for the day.

The thick clouds of the sky made the night darker, but these people seemed more comfortable in its darkness. They walked slowly but were steady.

"I hope this isn't one of Arad's hands doing, because if it is, then I will make sure I kill him," Omit said.

"I don't think it is him. Arad does not use blades that can make the kind of damage I saw," Frozal said, watching the movement.

"Arad only may be cruel but I don't see the reason why he would attack the Temblins. He would not gain anything from that act. He goes for gains and not grudges," Frozal continued.

"But I believe Arad and the intruder pushed through Temblins' defenses, then the people themselves aren't safe," Omit said.

"That is why we are looking for it." Bau said out of his silence.

"I don't feel comfortable with the other guy," Omit said while walking a bit faster than the others.

"Who? You mean Lio?" Frozal asked.

"Yes, he looks like a concealed harm. " Omit said.

Bau looked closely and saw someone in the midst of the darkness far before them. He moved swiftly like a ghost and got the scene and saw no one. Frozal and Omit believed as Bau walked.

Suddenly, Bau began to make head steps toward a cause such a movement.

Suddenly, a long chain with a piercing, looting knife attached to it crossed Bau's path. He had a step backward. Frozal saw the piece thrust into the wall and at the wall's edges. He traced the chains to the hands of a man who looked like a vampire and had three folds of scars and four fangs.—one pierced through his cheek and another three across his other cheek.

The man dragged the chain fast and with full force. He threw it toward Frozal, who bent down, escaping the cut. Bau crossed over the chain and ran towards the man, attempting to punch him, but his fists were held tightly in the man's hands. The man dragged the chain towards Bau, but Bau rotated in the air toward his left and escaped the knife piercing into his spinal column. The chain was down. Then the man gave a smile before tossing Bau aside.

The man looked at Frozal, who was now staring at him. Bau moved to take a closer look at the man. He was exactly the same person he saw in his coffee. What was the meaning of this?

Frozal brought out his sword from its' hold. The man made an evil smile.

"What do you want?" Frozal asked.

"Many things," the man said.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Many things," the man said again but he put more force into his words this time.
