Chapter 1 - Prologue:

In the heart of Cheongdam, a city notorious for its street gangs and lawlessness, a young man named Jung Hae Jin lived his life with confidence. A skilled martial artist and a liberal arts student, he had never backed down from a fight.

But that day, everything changed.

While riding his motorcycle to campus, a speeding truck appeared out of nowhere. The impact was inevitable. Darkness consumed him.

The sound of birds chirping. Sunlight seeping through his eyelids.

Hae Jin gasped as he woke up, his breath uneven. His head felt heavy, his thoughts a mess.

He instinctively reached for the glasses on the nightstand and tried to put them on. But the moment he did, his eyes ached in discomfort.

"What the—?" He yanked them off and tossed them into the trash.

Something felt wrong.

Staggering to his feet, he approached a mirror.

His reflection stunned him.

"Who the hell is this?"

The body was taller, but the hair was nerdy and unkempt. His facial features lacked the sharp charisma he once had. This wasn't him.

Confused, he went downstairs, where an older woman—his supposed aunt—stared at him curiously.

"Oh? You're not wearing your glasses today, Seung Min?"

He froze. The name was foreign.

But he had to adapt.

"Yeah… I was too much of a nerd wearing those damn glasses."

His aunt's eyes widened. This was the first time her quiet nephew had ever spoken so bluntly.

She pointed outside. "Your parents are in the garden."

He turned to look through the large window.

His jaw dropped.

A muscular man and a strong-looking woman were working out together.

"What the hell? How is their son so weak-looking? This is ridiculous."

His aunt chuckled. "Go take a shower. It's already 6:30. Your driver is waiting to take you to school."

But before leaving, he had one request—a haircut.

"Give me a fade taper," he instructed the driver, who also happened to be skilled at cutting hair.

Once done, he checked himself in the mirror and smirked. "At least I still look decent.

When he arrived, his eyes locked onto the school's sign:

"Cheongdam Vocational High School."

His stomach churned. "Great… a school full of troublemakers."

Students were smoking in the morning. Some were extorting money from weaker kids. Girls of all kinds—nerdy, feminine, tomboyish—walked past him.

Three guys approached, looking confused.

"Seung Min, what's up with your new look?"

They were Do Jin, Tae Hwan, and Ki Seok—gang members and notorious bullies.

Before he could react, they dragged him into the classroom. The door slammed behind him.

As he entered, the entire class fell silent.

"Damn, why does he look cool today?" one student sneered.

He held back a scoff. "Trash, all of them."

Moments later, a teacher walked in. The classroom instantly returned to order.

During lunch, he sat alone, listening as his classmates plotted a scheme to mess with their homeroom teacher.

"Look at that bastard eavesdropping!" one of them growled.

He simply smirked and continued eating.

A student named Min Ho approached him.

"Hey, are you listening in?"

He casually looked up. "Yeah, dumbass. You're ruining my appetite."

Min Ho scoffed, then slapped him across the face.

The cafeteria fell silent.

Seung Min let out a slow breath before cracking his neck. "Did you just slap me?"

Min Ho chuckled. "What? You wanna fight?"

Seung Min rolled his shoulders. "What do you think?"

Then, in a flash, his fist buried into Min Ho's stomach.

The bully collapsed, unconscious.

Gasps echoed throughout the cafeteria.

Seung Min sneered. "Pathetic."

Without another word, he walked out, leaving everyone stunned.

After school, he wandered aimlessly, searching for his old home.

Instead, he found a gravestone.

"Jung Hae Jin – 2002-2025."

His fingers clenched into fists.

"So… my original body is really dead?"

Frustrated, he bought a can of beer from a convenience store and drank as he walked.

Then, in the distance, he saw a familiar woman—a young lady with her hair tied in a ponytail, wearing a jacket, her eyes swollen from crying.

His heart stopped.

"No way… is that my sister?"

Without thinking, he called out.

"Noona…?"

The woman—who was actually his homeroom teacher—turned to him, confused.

"Are you drunk?" she asked, snatching the beer from his hand.

He was too stunned to answer.

Her phone rang. After a short conversation, she turned to him and sighed.

"I'll let it slide this time. But don't do this again."

Then, she walked away.

He remained frozen, his mind racing.

"So… my sister exists in this world too?"

Seung Min stood motionless on the sidewalk, his mind in turmoil.

His hands trembled slightly as he watched the woman who resembled his sister disappear into the distance.

His homeroom teacher… looked exactly like his noona from his past life.

Was this a coincidence? Or was fate playing a twisted joke on him?

As he turned his gaze back to his own reflection in a nearby store window, a chilling thought crept into his mind.

"If my soul took over this body… then where is the original Seung Min?"

He clenched his fists.

"Is his soul still inside? Did he die? Or… is he watching me right now?"

The possibility sent a shiver down his spine.

He needed answers.

Seung Min hurried back home, ignoring the driver who had come to pick him up from school. He entered his bedroom, locking the door behind him.

He stared at the mirror once again.

His new face. His new body.

He spoke aloud. "If you're in there, say something."

Silence.

His reflection merely mimicked his movements.

Seung Min sighed, dragging a hand down his face.

"Damn it… what if I really stole this kid's life?"

He rummaged through the room, searching for anything that could tell him more about this body's past.

Old school notebooks. A phone filled with awkward selfies. Text messages filled with one-sided conversations where he barely replied to anyone.

"Was he… a loner?"

Then, he found a journal.

Curious, he flipped through it.

The handwriting was neat but emotionless.

> March 5th

Today, I got bullied again. They took my lunch money, but it doesn't matter. I don't feel like eating anyway.

> April 12th

Mom and Dad keep saying I should work out, but I don't see the point. I'll always be weak. I'll always be nothing.

> May 20th

I wonder if I disappeared… would anyone notice?

Seung Min exhaled sharply, gripping the book tighter.

"Shit…"

The original Seung Min was broken.

A quiet, beaten-down kid who had lost all hope.

And now… he was gone.

He sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the floor.

Had the original Seung Min wished for this?

Had he given up his own soul… and that's why another one took its place?

Or had he been erased unwillingly?

Seung Min rubbed his temple.

"I need to stop overthinking. What's done is done."

He had two choices:

1. Live quietly as Seung Min, blending into this weak and miserable life.

2. Take this chance and live on his own terms.

The answer was obvious.

He wasn't the type to live in the shadows.

A small smirk tugged at his lips as he glanced at the mirror once more.

"Fine. If this body belongs to me now, then I'll make it stronger. I'll make them regret ever looking down on Seung Min."

For the first time since waking up in this strange new life…

He felt excited.
