Chapter 4 - Who am I?

Although his master had strictly forbidden him, he did it anyway.

He had been secretly going to the gate raids the local guides often did.

Although the gates weren't high ranking ones they could still, support him and his master with the additional talons he managed to earn.

He did this al for his master's sake, as he was the only person he had left in this world whom he could call family.

Werebeasts were often sold at high price as they were descendants from the mighty dragons, phoenix, and the nine tailed fox.

Lowell had never disclosed to anyone that he was a werebeast as he could be sold to the high ranking nobles.

Although he could live a good life, he wouldn't rest at peace if his master were to be left alone.

Him and his master were together since childhood, and they were the only thing each other had.

...

Gabriel looked at Lowell. He was going to do something he used to do in his past life. Figure out someone's potential.

He often did this, if he deemed them weak he wouldn't bother wasting his time on them.

Standing up he called. "Mime's Gaze"

Suddenly his eyes which were already dull in color, paled out, his pupils constricted, his gaze fixed on Lowell.

The world around him became dull, words formed above Lowell's head.

'Current Rank: E- Potential: A+'

'Hah' Gabriel couldn't help but sigh in annoyance that was still too weak. If they were to try and survive from that figure that had followed him, he would need to be stronger.

Gabriel didn't want to take the responsibility of protecting someone, nor be called a savior.

He had done that once in his past life.

But then the people depended too much on him, always calling him savior, hero etc.. Although Gabriel didn't remember who he once was, he remembered he wasn't weak.

But now he was stuck in this weak and pathetic body.

He didn't want that. Gabriel eyes went back to normal and the world gained it's once lost color.

"Lowell what swordsmanship are you practicing.?"

Lowell looked at Gabriel rather surprised he had asked that question.

"Mas- Master you won't get angry with me, will y-?"

"No I won't get angry, now answer the question."

As soon as Gabriel sad that, Lowell hurriedly went to pick up a rather old and tattered book.

"Here master, I was practicing from this book."

Gabriel looked at the book for a moment. He then scrunched up his face in ridicule.

"What the hell is this?" Lowell thought his master might be confused as he had never been well enough to even get up from his bed, so how could he have ever even thought about understanding swordsmanship.

"Master these are the main swordsmanships passed down to us by our heroes."

Gabriel looked up to Lowell and was about to ridicule him, till he saw Lowell was being dead serious.

He couldn't help but look at the book once again.

Shadow dance:

Light and agile movements. Dances with the shadows and become one with them.

Winds whisper:

Very fast and controls the wind

Titan's Grasp:

A heavy rain of attacks and uses brute force

Silent Reaper:

A stealthy and lethal style that emphasizes swift, silent kills.

Ocean's Embrace:

A flowing and adaptable style that mimics the movement of the ocean, overwhelming foes with relentless waves of attacks.

Verdant Blade:

Adapts to all the elements.

They all looked like cheap copies of the one's he had once practiced.

Even though they were very descriptive, they were written as if someone had only been able to glance at masters of these swordsmanships from afar.

So no matter how one tried to practice it, they would never be able to be like the original.

Gabriel looked at Lowell with pity and shook his head.

"No matter how hard you try to learn these swordsmanships you will never be able to reach your full potential and properly master them."

Lowell looked at Gabriel with a confused face and asked. "Why is that master?"

"Because these here, they are not real, these are just a cheap imitation of the real ones."

Gabriel saw Lowell bow down his head and fidget with his fingers. He couldn't help but add.

"Also because you don't have a master."

Lowell looked at Gabriel surprised and couldn't help but ask. "How could I find a master?"

If I was going to try and survive from that thing. I might as well start training this pup not to be extra load for me.

"You don't need to worry about that, I will teach you."
