Chapter 61 - Arcade

The arcade buzzed with energy, flashing neon lights and obnoxious games with obvious scams were spread in this arcade.

(yes i'm expressing my frustration on arcades i hate them)

Sunny and Cassie had spent the last hour bouncing between different games, almost ending in a tie.

Sunny had dominated in games that required precision and strategy. Unfair, due to her blindness.

Cassie, however, had completely annihilated him in the rhythm game, her fingers tapping the buttons with a confidence that made Sunny suspect she was hiding some kind of secret musical talent.

'The hell?!' was one of sunny's thoughts during the mania game.

(MANIA REFERENCE)

And now, it all came down to one final game.

They stood in front of a classic fighting game, the kind that had existed for decades.

'Street fighter 5? What is this?'

The rules were simple.

Best two out of three.

Cassie crossed her arms and smirked. "Let's make this interesting."

Sunny raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"

She tilted her head slightly, that knowing smile creeping onto her lips. "Whoever wins gets to make the loser do whatever they want."

Sunny froze.

His mind, almost instantly, went to places it definitely shouldn't.

A hundred thoughts surged at once.

Images of Cassie in situations he'd never allow himself to openly consider.

A slow grin spread across his face.

"Anything?"

Cassie, completely oblivious to the direction of his thoughts, nodded. "Anything."

'Damnation…'

Sunny exhaled through his nose, trying to suppress the way his imagination was running wild.

He could ask for something simple - maybe making her buy him food, or carrying his things for the rest of the day.

Or…

His fingers twitched on the joystick.

'Stop. Focus.'

Clearing his throat, he nodded. "Alright. Deal."

They picked their characters and the battle began.

Sunny played aggressively, launching a series of well-timed attacks, his fingers moving with practiced precision.

He wasn't the type to go easy on anyone, even Cassie.

But Cassie…

Cassie was playing dirty.

"Oops," she murmured, her knee accidentally brushing against his thigh.

Sunny twitched, but didn't look away from the screen. "Tch."

A second later, she sighed softly.

Her voice was barely above a whisper as she murmured, "You're really trying so hard, huh?"

His grip on the joystick tightened. "You little-"

A critical hit landed.

Sunny's character collapsed.

Cassie's victory theme played across the screen.

Silence.

Then, Cassie turned her head toward him, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.

"Too bad, Sunny. I used to play this game younger with my parents. Looks like I win!"

He glared at her

'You-!"

He stared blankly at the screen, his brain struggling to process the betrayal his own body had inflicted upon him.

"…Hah."

Cassie giggled, turning to fully face him.

"Well, a deal's a deal."

Sunny inhaled deeply, preparing himself for the worst. "…Alright. What do you want me to do?"

Cassie tapped a finger to her chin in mock contemplation.

Then, as if it had just come to her, she tilted her head and said-

"Carry me home."

Sunny blinked.

Cassie's smile widened, the mischief in her expression deepening.

"You heard me. You lost, so now you have to carry me all the way home."

Sunny opened his mouth, then closed it.

That…

That was not what he had expected.

For a second, his mind had gone to some very dangerous places.

He had fully prepared for her to make an embarrassing request.

Instead… she wanted that?

He could almost laugh.

Sunny let out a slow exhale, shaking his head. "You're unbelievable."

Cassie simply grinned. "I know."

And that was how, not even fifteen minutes later, Sunny found himself walking down the streets with Cassie securely in his arms.

People stared.

Cassie giggled into his shoulder.

And Sunny, for once, didn't mind it at all.
