We, Galerina, have started working on the launch of Draqua.
The first thing we need to do is make the marketing rounds.
We all had to work together to promote the new product to the retailers.
I also carried the promotional goods and packages and went to the stores to promote the product.
The first one is still the big toy store that has a store in the capital.
The manager smiled and nodded when I showed him the sales promotion posters and such at the counter.
"Hmmm, there are a lot of characters here that children would enjoy. The plushies are cute, too. What kind of game is this?"
When the manager became curious, I showed him the screen of switz and began to explain.
"This game is a role playing game genre. The concept is to enjoy the story of adventure while growing your unique friends in battle."
"Oh, .... Can I try it?"
When the store manager touched the game, I guess he noticed the difference.
"I see. When you attack an enemy, the damage is displayed as a numerical value?"
"Yes. The more enemies you defeat, the higher your level will be, and the amount of damage you can inflict will also increase. It's an easy way to show your growth."
"That sounds interesting. But will the children be able to understand how it works?"
He seems to have some concerns, and the manager asks me questions from a child's perspective, as is typical of toy stores.
"The system of Draqua is on par with elementary school math. In any case, your child may learn to calculate as he or she plays."
In fact, here's a kid who learned how to count money with RPG. Yeah, that's me in a previous life.
When I offered a slightly educational approach, the manager looked at me surprisingly.
"I see. That's one of the values of this product..."
"Yes. And from here on, we are talking about Switz as a whole. In order to increase the sales of video game, we have a plan."
"And what is that plan?"
"Yes. We're planning to lower the price of the Swizz console to make it more affordable when Dracula is released."
"Lower the price?"
I nodded to the surprised manager.
"Yes. Until now, the retail price of Switz has been 500 bells for the set of the console and Hypermaruo. From now on, we would like to sell the console alone at a price of 400 bells."
I held up four fingers and smiled.
This is the trigger I have prepared along with Draqua.
Maruo will no longer be bundled with the console, and from now on, customers will be able to choose their own first software.
At a glance, it looks like a 100-bell price cut, but since it doesn't come with any software, it's actually just a 20-bell cut.
However, I think the hurdle to purchase will be lowered considerably.
The manager folded his arms and seems to be groaning at the price adjustment for the first time.
"Hmm. So you're saying you're going to stop selling the Maruo set and make it 20 bells cheaper. That seems like a good deal. Does that mean Galerina is also enthusiastic?"
"That's right. Also, Draqua is made by a company called Squier Wennix. Now that a company other than Nikkendo has entered the market in earnest, we've decided to let customers who buy new game consoles choose their first software."
"I see … It's certainly easier for customers to buy. Then, let's order 20 Switz and 15 Draqua for the release date."
"Thank you very much!"
I thanked him for the on-the-spot order and left the store.
The fact that we were able to get 20 orders for Switz is a good start for the new strategy.
However, the 15 Draqua order from this store is not that good either.
Do they still tend to be reluctant to try new things?
I guess the question is still whether children can understand the system or not.
In this case, the solution is to reach out to a different audience.
I wonder if it would be possible to sell the " story" that is the strength of RPGs and target people who like that kind of thing.
With this in mind, I decided to plunge into a type of store that I had never been to before.
A bookstore, of course.
Even in Maldea, where all data is processed by devices, bookstores still exist.
The inside of the store is quite elegant, lined with a variety of books, including tales, biographies, and books of magic inherited throughout Maldea.
There were also movies on display, and the store covered a wide range of not only literature, in general they sell story.
The stories of Draqua might work here.
I immediately approached the owner, who was sitting at the counter.
"Excuse me, I have a new product to show you."
"Oh, are you from a magic books publisher? Or are you a movie publisher?"
An older man with glasses looking at me.
"No, I'm not. I'm from a company that sells video games."
When I send him my profile data, he stares down at the device as if puzzled.
"Galerina Comp….. Oh, I know about video games. They're a bit of a hot topic in entertainment circles these days. But that's a plaything. We're a storytelling store, not a toy store. I'm sorry, but that's my concern."
The owner of the store tried to decline my offer.
But I pushed forward.
"No, this Dragon Quast is not just a game, it's a story of adventure that you can enjoy first hand."
If a store refused to accept and call it a plaything, I just had to ditch the word "game" and jump into their territory.
This tactic got me a number of orders from Zeld.
"A story?"
Apparently interested, the owner turned his attention to the screen.
"Yes. When you talk to someone in this world, they will respond to you. If you talk to a specific person, the story will progress. What kind of developments and characters await you in your adventure? You'll be able to experience it as you play."
"You're going to experience the story first hand at .... That's a type of entertainment I've never seen before. Would you mind if I tried it?"
"Yes, please."
The owner, who quickly picks up the Switz, goes on with the story as soon as I explain the operation. It was a development that was put in a prison just in the early stages and escaped from there. The shop owner was watching such a situation as if he was impressed.
"Ho .... It's good. The story rolls along well, and I like that I can move the characters around myself."
"Yes. That's what RPG are all about."
"RPG.... That's interesting. I'd like to order a few copies to try out."
"Thank you very much."
Apparently, I succeeded in pushing him to make up his mind.
I was able to get orders from unexplored stores, albeit only three sets.
The draqua story grabbed a new customer.
Then I went around to all the retail stores, and many of them responded well.
The witch manager of the magic shop ordered twice as much as last time because of Zeldo success.
The strict manager of that department store said, "This might be a new type of art.
Mr. Torikawa's character designs are simple, charming, and artistic at the same time.
It seems to be fresh in the eyes of the Maldeans.
When I returned to Garelina's office, everyone was just coming back.
"How'd it go?"
"I did! I sold 400 units today alone!"
Sania held up four fingers and looked smug.
"It seems that having a story has opened people' eyes who might not interested in playthings."
"It seems that having a story has opened people' eyes who might not interested in playthings."
Galena nods in satisfaction, as if she has accomplished something.
"The fact that there are so many attractive characters is also very appealing."
Mesora said that she had succeeded in getting orders from a character goods store.
My friends and I seemed to be doing well, and the orders for Draqua were showing a good start.
As a result, we succeeded in getting an order for over 6000 units, and preparations for the launch were well underway.
A few days before the release, I took a day off.
At my mother's store, there were all kinds of Draqua merchandise for sale.
The children seemed to be very interested in the sight of Slime sitting on a stand.
"Auntie, what's this?"
"It's a monster from Draqua."
The mother gently replies to the child holding the blue slime in her hand.
"Are we fighting this thing?"
"I can beat this in one shot."
The kids are declaring victory over the cute little slime.
I make the slime look mean, trying to scare them a little.
"Are you sure? If you don't have the herbs, I' ll catch you sooner or later."
"Herbs? What's that?
"I'm not going to lose to a little thing like this!"
They are simple-minded children who retaliate easily when teased.
But they all seemed to be attracted to the illustrations on the poster.
Since I was bored, I decided to teach them by pointing out the characters one by one.
"This is the Brave, and this is the Wizard."
"What's the Brave?"
The boy tilted his head and I smiled at him.
"A hero who protects the world. When you start Draqua, you are a brave from that day."
"The Brave … a game that makes me a hero …"
The boy with a bob hair was looking up at the picture of the main character and muttered to himself.
Yes.
Draqua is a game in which I become a hero.
In my previous life, I used to feel like that and play like crazy.
The day of the brave departures is just around the corner.
