As Morning arrived, the chatter in the servant's quarters awakened Renee early. Laying on Wolf's body, her face snug against his neck, she couldn't help but slip a finger down his abs and wake him with a gentle caress. Wrapping her fingers around his cock, she pumped her hand up and down at a slow yet passionate pace.
With a groan, her lover opened his eyes. Smiling, he reached for her face and pulled her in for a morning kiss. Locking lips for but a brief moment, the two enjoyed the quiet they felt in each other's company. And while Renee continued to stroke his semi-soft cock with a long, gentle caress; Wolf kissed her down the neck and brought his lips to her breasts.
Cupping them in his hands, he gave them a gentle squeeze and took turns sucking one of them at a time. Feeling even a bit ticklish to the sensation of his tongue circling her nipples, Renee let out a chuckle.
"Hungry as a wolf, too bad I'm not producing anything~" Renee teased, laughing some more.
However, pulling himself off her breasts, Wolf planted a brief kiss on her lips before whispering right next to her ears.
"I can always change that, don't test me," with a light smirk he pulled away, although quickly growing surprised at the bright blush across Renee's cheeks.
Covering her eyes, the faunan turned her head away from him. Growing even more confused, he pushed her hands off of her face and made her look at him again.
"After all that; being a mother is what makes you embarrassed?" Amused at her reaction, the prince couldn't help but laugh.
Still feeling awkward from his words, Renee's eyes kept looking in another direction. However, puffing up her cheeks, she let her frustration be known. A mother? She never gave it a thought before, but the moment he'd mentioned it, a memory not yet lived flashed in front of her.
Cradling a child in her bosom with many others running amok, she found herself smiling and leaning into Wolf's shoulder. Enjoying his warmth against her body, she wished she could remain like that forever, but as Wolf began kissing her over and over on her puffed cheeks, she burst into another laugh.
"Enough of that! You idiot, ahaha~" Pulling herself out of the thought, she playfully rolled her eyes and pushed Wolf off. Standing by the bed, she stared at him a while longer. "Always a charmer, no wonder you've always been popular with girls."
Shaking her head, she took a deep breath and then let it all out. Donning a smile right afterwards, Renee began gathering her clothes that were lying on the ground. Pulling himself out of bed as well, Wolf dressed himself as well, all the while, in his head, he couldn't help but wonder what Sola might've found last night.
Right as they were done, a sudden knock broke their peace. Confused as to who it could be since Sola wouldn't be foolish enough to visit him in the daytime, Wolf cautiously walked to the door while urging Renee to stay behind.
"Who is it?" He asked, grabbing the doorknob.
A stuttering female voice could be heard on the other side, but then, silence took over. Glancing back at Renee, his eyes reflecting concern, gesturing to her to grab the axe, he beckoned her closer and to get behind the door.
"I-I brought tea…" As the woman on the other end finally spoke up, Wolf was surprised to find it familiar. Trying to remember who it was, his eyes squinted on their own as he focused on his memory, but before he could stumble on an answer, the woman on the other end refreshed his memory. "Prince, we met by the adventurer's guild some days ago!"
It all came flooding to him in a flash. The vacant ring finger, the cream puff pastries, and the look of joy as he'd finally accepted her gift.
"Ohhh, I remember…" His guard down by the sweet woman's voice, Wolf allowed himself to relax a little and pulled the door open. On the other end, he saw her standing–the same woman he'd encountered by the guild. "Sorry, I don't usually get visitors at this hour so I had to ask before opening the door."
"Hmm?" Hearing Wolf's logic for the awkward exchange a few seconds ago, the woman tilted her head with visible confusion. "Do the other maids not bring you tea in the morning?"
Assuming this might be a long conversation if he tried to explain everything, Wolf decided to let the matter go and instead lowered his eyes to the tray. For a moment he made nothing of it, but then he noticed her wearing a maid's outfit right behind that tray.
"Wait a second, since when did you start working here?" Opening the door all the way, Wolf took the tray off of her hands and glanced her up and down again. Wearing the dull, cream-checkered clothes that were meant to be elusive so that royalty may not notice their presence, the woman seemed plain yet beautiful still.
Smiling, she folded her hands by her hips and answered Wolf's question.
"The Queen sent someone to the village last night, they hired a lot of us to help with the competition's preparations," as she explained what had happened, Wolf handed the tray to Renee who'd just walked up beside him from the back of the open door. Noticing the faunan for just a moment, a knowing blush flashed across her cheeks, but she didn't let that stop her from completing her answer. "One of the maids told me to bring you tea, but I-I should get back to the kitchen now."
Bowing to Wolf and quickly lifting her head, the woman turned around and tried leaving the very next instant. But with a stretch of his hand, Wolf grabbed her by the shoulder.
"Your name, I don't think I got your name yet…"
Stopped in her tracks, the woman squeezed a fist by her pounding chest. Seeing the woman behind Wolf, she deduced what must've happened between the two, and the strong scent that lingered around him was no longer just pleasant but also carried with it a nefarious truth.
Gently brushing his hand off of her shoulder she began walking once more, and after just a few steps she finally revealed her name.
"Alta, my name's Alta Greggor…" Watching her walk away, Wolf noticed many new faces also wandering through the corridors.
'I guess Mother did hire more people.' With that thought, he shut the door, but as he turned around he was shocked to find Renee pouring the tea on the floor.
"The woman just tried to poison you," wide-eyed, she stared at the trail of tea falling out of the cup. Breathing heavily, the faunan was in a world of her own. Her head on a pike, that's all she saw. "We need to kil–"
"I almost forgot you can sense poison," before she could finish, Wolf's voice snapped her out of the trance. Shaking her head, Renee turned to face him. Deep in thought, Wolf did seem to be taking her seriously. "Someone told her to give it to me, I bet it wasn't her but the maid who gave her the tray, instead."
"But why?" Renee questioned, but as they two looked into each other's eyes, the answer came to them in an instant.
'William…' They thought and they were right. But now came the hard part, what were they going to do about it?
