Chapter 2 - A Bad Dream

The ground was covered with jagged white bones. Some bones were wrapped in red vines, and beside some bones, a few coins were scattered.

Diluo'er was terrified by the scene in front of her. Tears streamed down her face, and she quickly ran towards the light.

Entering the white light, what came into view was a garden full of pink flowers. Walking in, a holy - looking person was lying in the middle.

She was surrounded by clusters of flowers. Her pink hair spread all over the ground, blending into the flowers.

Diluo'er and she looked seven or eight points alike.

Seeing her, the person lying in the garden sat up straight and beckoned to her. "You're finally here, my dear child."

Diluo'er walked over and involuntarily lay in her arms.

It was so soft and warm, as if nothing that had just happened had occurred.

She gently stroked Diluo'er's head, coaxing her to sleep. "Forget those painful memories. I'll always be here."

Diluo'er couldn't help but indulge in it.

Is this the end? Diluo'er thought.

Suddenly, Diluo'er felt a sharp pain. She looked at her bright - red skirt. What was bleeding?

Was there something she had forgotten?

Finally, she looked out again at those white bones.

She thought of her friends.

"Who are you?" Diluo'er looked up and asked the person in front of her.

The person still smiled gently. "Me? I'm Tashiveya."

"Why am I here? I have to go. I still need to find my friends."

"But they're already dead, dead on the way you came to see me." Tashiveya stroked her face and patted her back.

"Can't you save them?" Diluo'er looked at her hopefully.

"Witches have no souls. They can't be saved in their entire lives." Tashiveya still smiled and explained.

But such cruel words were unacceptable to Diluo'er.

"No! I promised them that I would save them!" Diluo'er stood up, wanting to go back.

"Isn't it better to forget them? Staying with me is the right thing to do." Tashiveya grabbed her, not letting her leave.

"No, I don't trust you. The gods of Lan Gete have long been dead. We don't believe in gods anymore!" Diluo'er realized and broke free from her.

She didn't refute, just disappeared from her dream.

"Then let's do it again. Again and again, countless times. Let's see if you can change the ending this time."

The only thing Diluo'er remembered were the bright pink eyes, like the Tatalian blooming in the sun.

Tatalian is a unique pink flower in Lan Gete. It has extremely high requirements for environmental stability and can only bloom in the soil of peace.

It is the only thing the gods left in this world.
