Chapter 8 - fight

"So, I told her I'd bring pizza today after my shift was over," the man said casually, scanning the area from above without a care for his surroundings. He was speaking to another man standing beside him. Both were armed—one held an MP5, while the other had a handgun holstered at his side. Before the second man could respond, the sound of shattering glass erupted, and a figure clad in blackish-red armor burst into the room.

The intruder moved with lethal precision, his sword slicing through the air and piercing the skull of the man with the MP5, killing him instantly. Without hesitation, the armored figure swung his blade again, effortlessly cleaving the second man in two with a bloody slash. The remaining men in the room, stunned by the sudden violence, quickly regained their composure and raised their weapons to fire.

As bullets flew, the man in black armor conjured a shield of blood from the fallen men, deflecting the onslaught. With a flick of his wrist, he formed shard-like objects from the blood and hurled them toward his attackers. "Take cover!" one of the men shouted, but it was too late. The shards struck their targets, tearing through flesh and using the victims' own blood to create more deadly projectiles.

"Where's the big guy?" one of the remaining men yelled, hiding behind cover and firing at the armored figure. The question caught the intruder's attention. In an instant, he vanished from his position and reappeared behind the man who had spoken.

"What big guy are you talking about?" the armored man asked, his voice cold and menacing. With a swift motion, he severed the man's arm, causing him to scream in agony and drop to his knees. The intruder crouched to meet the man's eye level, his presence dominating. "What big guy are you talking about?" he repeated, his tone chilling.

"T-the Rhino... the one with rhino-like powers," the man stammered, clutching his severed arm in a futile attempt to stop the bleeding. Before he could say more, the tip of the sword pierced his skull, ending his life.

"I have to move fast," the man muttered as he reappeared in front of a cargo area where everything was being unloaded. Before he could even touch or observe anything, a sudden bang echoed through the air as a massive fist collided with the side of his chest. The sheer force sent him flying halfway across the room, and he slammed into the wall with a heavy thump.

"Nothing personal, man. You messed with the wrong person," said a towering figure standing at 6'5", his hulking frame covered in gray, muscular skin. A single horn protruded from his extended face, giving him the appearance of a powerful, almost mythical being. This was the Rhino.

The man slowly rose from where he had been thrown, blood dripping from his body. He stopped and stared at the Rhino with a cold, steely gaze. "And nothing personal when I'm done with you either," he said, his voice calm but laced with menace. He drove his sword into the ground and shifted into a boxing stance, ready to fight.

"Either you're foolish, or you're looking for a quick death," the Rhino growled. But the man in black armor didn't respond. Instead, he vanished from the Rhino's sight in an instant. Bang! Before the Rhino could even react, the man teleported onto the top of his head, delivering a surprise attack.

"Cheap shot!" the Rhino roared, twisting his body and swinging his massive right arm in an attempt to strike the man in the face. But to his surprise, the man teleported away again mid-air, disappearing in the blink of an eye. Before the Rhino could recover, he was struck once more, this time on the right side of his chest, the force of the blow forcing him to stagger back a few feet.

"Fight me like a real man!" the Rhino bellowed, frustration and anger boiling in his voice as he failed to land a hit.

"No," the man replied coolly, his tone indifferent. In a flash, he appeared again, this time delivering a powerful punch to the Rhino's left knee. The impact was devastating, forcing the towering figure to drop to one knee on the ground.

The man in black armor teleported again, appearing directly in front of the Rhino, who was now on one knee, bruises covering his massive body from the devastating punches he had endured. The man's raven-like mask betrayed no emotion, but a subtle smile seemed to form as he prepared to strike the Rhino's face. Inches away from landing the blow, his movement was abruptly halted as the Rhino's massive hand shot up and gripped his arm with crushing force.

"You've got a lot of power for a coward," the Rhino growled, his voice rough and filled with rage. "But it ends now." With a powerful motion, he yanked the man forward and drove a fist straight into his stomach, all while maintaining his iron grip on the man's arm. Before the Rhino could land a second punch, however, a small, blood-like object slashed across his eyes, blinding him momentarily.

"Ahhh!" the Rhino screamed in pain, involuntarily releasing the man's arm as he brought his massive hands up to his face, trying to wipe away the blood and the searing agony.

"I got too careless. That will never happen again," the man said coldly. Seizing the opportunity, he landed a powerful punch to the Rhino's stomach, followed by an uppercut to his chin. The force of the blows sent the Rhino airborne for a brief moment before he crashed to the ground, unconscious. His eyes fluttered shut as his massive body went limp.

The man in black armor walked toward the fallen Rhino with slow, deliberate steps, his expression unreadable behind the mask.

Huff. The man let out a breath as he observed the Rhino's body on the ground. He watched the Rhino's chest slowly rise and fall—still alive. Deciding to let the Rhino live for now, he turned and began walking toward the cargo area. "That was a good exercise in never letting my guard down," he muttered, wincing as he pressed a hand to the wound on his chest. "Now, where's the oil? Once I burn down the drugs, I can get the hell out of here and finally relax."

Swoosh. The man suddenly turned his head at the sound of movement. His sharp eyes scanned the area, and in an instant, he teleported to the source of the noise. Behind one of the cargo crates, he found a small boy, no older than 7 or 10, hiding and trembling with fear.

"Please don't kill me," the boy pleaded, his voice shaking and tears streaming down his face.

The man crouched down to meet the boy's eyes, his tone surprisingly gentle. "Why would I kill you? Can you tell me why you're here?"

"You... you won't kill me?" the boy asked hesitantly, his eyes wide with fear.

"No, I won't. In fact, I'll save you," the man reassured him.

The boy sniffled, his voice trembling with sadness. "I was coming home from school when they kidnapped me and brought me here."

"You don't have to worry anymore. You're safe now. They'll never hurt you again," the man said, his voice warm and comforting.

"Really? Are you a superhero, like Spider-Man?" the boy asked, a glimmer of hope and joy returning to his voice.

The man chuckled softly. "Something like that. If you want to know, my name is Corvus." He stood up straight and extended his hand toward the boy, offering it to him to take.

The man teleported with the boy in his arms, reappearing outside the warehouse. He gently placed the boy down and reached into his pocket, pulling out a phone. He dialed a number, spoke briefly, then dialed another number before crushing the phone in his hand. Turning back to the boy, who was looking up at him with wide, puppy-like eyes, the man crouched down and spoke softly.

"I've called the police and the media. They'll be here soon to help you, okay?" the man said, ruffling the boy's hair with a reassuring smile.

"Okay," the boy replied, his voice small but trusting.

With that, the man stood up and teleported into thin air, vanishing as if he had never been there in the first place. Moments later, the warehouse behind him erupted into flames, burning fiercely as the fire consumed the building.

Within minutes, the police and media arrived at the scene, only to find the boy standing in front of the blazing inferno, safe but visibly shaken.
