Chapter 72 - 72. True God

Gavin had no idea how much time had passed as he absorbed and processed the flood of new memories. They told the story of the Blood Race from its very beginning.

He learned that the territory of the Blood Race was not actually on the Montreal Continent, but rather on an island just to its south. The island was so close, however, that it was often considered part of the continent and was known as Abara.

More shockingly, Gavin discovered that the Blood Race was not naturally born. The memories did not explain how they came into existence, only that they were created by their True God, Maeras. Unlike the other gods mentioned in Willy's memories, Maeras' divine authority was not recorded. This confused Gavin at first, but as he continued reading, the reason became clear.

Before reaching the Legendary Realm, cultivation varied across different regions and systems in the mortal realm. However, upon stepping into the Legendary Rank, all cultivation systems merged into one universal framework.

To break through into the Legendary Realm, a mortal had to ignite the Longevity Lights—one for the body, one for energy, and one for spirit—and then fuse them with their soul.

The Legendary Realm was divided into ten ranks, each representing a deeper comprehension of the rules of the world.

While mortals could manipulate energy derived from these rules, only those in the Legendary Realm could truly comprehend and master them.

Mortal cultivators could only grasp elemental rules—single-element laws or combinations that formed new energies. However, they could not comprehend abstract or conceptual rules that had no inherent energy.

A cultivator's understanding of the rules deepened as they advanced through the Legendary Ranks. Upon fully mastering a rule, they would reach the Tenth Rank of the Legendary Realm.

At that point, they faced two choices:

1. The Path of High Legendary

2. The Path of the Demigod

This path was further divided into four stages:

- Minor Path Opening - Half Path Opening - Major Path Opening - Full Path Opening.

To advance, one had to open a unique path of their own—four times. However, the memories did not explain what a "path" truly was or how to create one.

This path relied on the power of faith and the cultivation of divine authority.

- High Legendary Path: True Spirit → Void Spirit → True God

- Demigod Path: Weak Divine Power God → Low Divine Power God → Medium Divine Power God → High Divine Power God → Powerful Divine Power God → True God

While there were more realms in the Demigod Path, the power levels of Weak, Low, Medium, and High Divine Power Gods were equivalent to those in the True Spirit Realm.

Meanwhile, Powerful Divine Power Gods matched the Void Spirit Realm in strength.

Beyond this was the True God Realm, where gods were no longer identified by titles of authority, but by the unique rules they had created and controlled. Only at this stage did they achieve true immortality—even the destruction of the world could not affect them, as they could freely traverse the Void beyond the world itself.

After absorbing this portion of the inheritance, Gavin found that his thoughts instinctively pulled forward additional knowledge. Whatever he focused on, memories surfaced instantly, as if his mind had been permanently linked to an endless reservoir of information.

Curious, he turned his attention to the Blood Race and learned that it was among the top ten races of the world. In this world, only races with a True God were recognized as top races. These included: Titans, Dragons, Angels, Abyss Demons, Hell Devils, Elves, Elementals , Beasts, Humans, and Blood Race.

Among them, the first seven were longevity races, but they were divided internally, often warring among themselves. Their True Gods had long left this world, venturing into the Void beyond.

The Beast and Human Races, however, were exceptions—their True Gods remained within the world. But unlike the longevity races, infighting was in their nature. Their vast populations gave them an advantage, allowing them to sustain endless conflicts.

The Blood Race, on the other hand is also a longevity race, but they have a small population and cannot not afford such internal strife. They were bound by necessity to remain united.

Aside from these ten races, there were other True Gods, but they did not affiliate themselves with any particular race.

Gavin's mind drifted to a crucial thought—if he reached the True God Realm, he could return to his previous world without relying on the altar. At that point, he could finally take his revenge.

However, this realization only strengthened his resolve to repair the altar. Even in its broken state, the altar was capable of traversing Void. It had not only brought his soul into this world, but also perfectly forged an identity for him, shielding him from detection by the world's natural laws.

If the altar was truly a True God-level artifact—or perhaps something even greater—then once fully restored, what incredible powers would it awaken?

Shifting his focus, Gavin began reading about the Zerg, a crisis powerful enough to injure True Gods.

The memories revealed that at the time of the invasion, every True God present in the world had suffered injuries—some minor, some severe.

The Zergs did not originate from this world. Instead, they traveled through Void in their massive insect nests. Their race had eleven True Gods, whereas the world Gavin now inhabited had only seven at the time of the war.

Even with three additional allied races, the defenders struggled. Without the world's natural suppression of foreign invaders, they never would have been able to defeat the Zerg.

Even so, victory had come at a terrible cost—a pyrrhic victory.

Eighty percent of all beings above the Legendary Realm perished. Those who survived were gravely injured.

The world had barely survived.

But the Zerg threat had not disappeared. Their insect nest remained lodged within the world barrier, and smaller hidden nests had embedded themselves within the world itself. These remnants were regrouping, multiplying, and preparing for a second invasion.

As Gavin continued reading, he grew curious about how this world differed from his previous life. In his past life, he had lived in a planetary system.

Here, however, the world was divided into planes.

- The Main Plane: The central and most powerful plane, where he now resided. It contained all the laws and rules of the world.

- Lesser Planes: Smaller worlds classified as low-level, middle-level, and top-level planes.

- Outer Planes: Three mysterious realms residing at the edge of existence—the Angel Plane, Abyss Plane, and Hell Plane.

Despite these vast divisions, the Main Plane remained the most important.

This revelation fascinated him. He had only ever experienced two worlds—his previous life and this one—yet the differences between them were immense. A new goal began to form in his mind: after taking his revenge, he would explore different worlds and experience their wonders firsthand.

Turning his focus to the races of this world, he discovered that there were countless races, but many did not reside in the Main Plane.

Most races lived in other planes, believing their entire plane to be the only world in existence.

Finally, Gavin returned to the true purpose of reading the inheritance book—to learn how to take on his human form.

He discovered that the Blood Race possessed three natural forms:

1. Beast Form – Vampire Bat

2. Elemental Form – Blood Elemental Spirit

3. Human Form

A simple thought was all it took to shift between these forms.

However, Gavin had been unable to take human form earlier because he believed himself to be only a vampire bat.

As he continued reading, he found that the Blood Race had exclusive professions that could only be taken by those born with their bloodline.

There were six such professions:

- Blood Guardian

- Blood Weaver

- Blood Mage

- Life Sculptor

- Crimson Oracle

- Blood Alchemist

The book only mentioned their names, providing no details.

Deciding to test his transformation, Gavin closed his eyes and imagined the human form from his previous life.

A moment later, he transformed.

But as he opened his eyes, he saw two women staring at him—Valerie and a young girl.

Then he realized the problem.

In his Vampire Bat form, he had no clothes—so when he transformed, he was completely naked.

His face darkened, and without hesitation, he immediately shifted back into his Vampire Bat form.
